Chapter 376 Lin Sheng (Script 11)

Chapter 376 Lin Sheng (Script 11)

Li Zheng hesitated for less than a second before dragging the unconscious Lu Yu onto the speedboat. The speedboat immediately accelerated, leaving the pursuers and the gunfire behind.

"Mr. Chen?"

Li Zheng stared at the "Interpol" vigilantly.

The man took off his sunglasses and gave a wry smile: "Codename 'Peacock'. Didn't Lu Yu tell you?"

Li Zheng's brain was working rapidly - the contact person "Peacock" was not a drug dealer, but an undercover policeman?

The whole deal is...

"trap."

Peacock seemed to see his confusion and explained, "Lu Yu designed this specifically to lure out the leader of the Viper."

He looked at the unconscious Lu Yu with a complicated expression: "He always likes to play this kind of dangerous game."

Back at the safe house, Li Zheng assisted Kong Que in removing the bullet from Lu Yu.

During the operation, he once again confirmed the CT-107 tattoo - it was definitely the real police code.

But why did the superiors never mention Lu Yu’s identity?

Lu Yu muttered incessantly in his feverish delirium, mostly in Thai and Burmese, occasionally with a few words in Chinese: "...The information is in... Ah Zheng... Be careful... It's not Mr. Xiao..."

In the early morning of the next day, Lu Yu's fever subsided.

Li Zheng was dozing off on a chair in the ward when he suddenly felt someone watching him. He opened his eyes and found Lu Yu looking at him quietly.

"You saw it."

Lu Yu's voice was weak but clear.

Li Zheng nodded and asked directly: "CT-107?"

Lu Yu closed his eyes and let out a long sigh: "Fifteen years...you are the first living person to know."

"Why me?"

Lu Yu didn't answer directly, but instead asked, "That dagger, was it Director Wang who gave it to you? He's still using that outdated codename 'Red Eagle'?"

Li Zheng was shocked - Director Wang was indeed his single-line contact, and "Red Eagle" was a code name known only to a very few people.

Lu Yu raised his hand with difficulty and pointed at his suitcase: "The mezzanine... has the answer you want."

Li Zheng found a waterproof envelope containing a yellowed file: Fifteen years ago, the police launched the "Deep Dive Plan" and selected seven little boys to infiltrate major criminal groups in Asia.

Lu Yu, whose real name is Lin Sheng, is numbered CT-107 and his mission is to infiltrate the Shadow Group.

"Do you understand now?"

Lu Yu coughed, "I need someone who can prove my identity... and you are the best candidate Director Wang can send."

Li Zheng held the file tightly, countless questions swirling in his mind.

The biggest question is – “Why now?”

Lu Yu's eyes suddenly became sharp: "Because Master Xiao has found a buyer for the 'Black Ice' project."

While answering Li Zheng's question, he sat up with difficulty, "That's not an ordinary drug... It's a biological weapon."

Outside the window, the rain stopped.

The first ray of sunlight penetrated the clouds and shone on two equally complex young faces. One of them had just regained his identity, and the other had just lost his disguise.

The ceiling fan in the safe house rotated slowly, cutting through the stuffy air with an intermittent hum.

Li Zheng stared at the yellowed file in his hand. The edges of the paper were slightly curled due to years of moisture.

The boy in the photo was about sixteen or seventeen years old. He was wearing a police academy reserve uniform and had clear, sharp eyes—that was Lu Yu fifteen years ago, or rather, Lin Sheng.

"Have you seen enough?"

Lu Yu asked weakly from the bed.

The wound on his abdomen had just stopped bleeding, and his face was as pale as paper, but he still maintained that faint smile.

Li Zheng put down the file, walked to the window and pulled up the blinds.

"Why are you telling me now?"

"I was going to wait until you passed the final test."

Lu Yu tried to sit up, but the pain made beads of sweat appear on his forehead. "But the ambush by the venomous snake disrupted our plan."

"test?"

Li Zheng turned around, his voice unconsciously rising, "So you've been testing me this whole time?"

"What else?"

Lu Yu's eyes suddenly became sharp: "Do you think undercover work is just childish play?"

He gritted his teeth and pulled out a USB drive from under his pillow and threw it to Li Zheng. "Take a look at this, and then tell me if you still think my test is redundant."

There is only one video file in the USB drive.

In the picture, a man tied to a chair is twitching in pain, and the blood vessels on his face appear a strange black. The person who took the video never shows up, but the voice can still be identified after processing - it's Mr. Xiao.

"Black Ice Sample 12, died 72 hours after exposure."

Xiao Ye's voice-over was filled with the excitement of a mad scientist, "It's perfectly disguised as the symptoms of heroin poisoning, and even an autopsy can't detect it."

The video suddenly stops.

Li Zheng's palms were already wet. He remembered the collective death of six drug addicts reported in the news three months ago.

Their symptoms were exactly the same as in the video.

"Biological weapons..."

Li Zheng murmured in a low voice.

Lu Yu nodded, the intense pain causing his breathing to quicken. "Master Xiao has already found a buyer...a country in the Middle East, and the transaction will take place next month."

He stared into Li Zheng's sharp eyes and asked, "Now do you understand why I have to confirm your identity?"

Suddenly, the roar of a motorcycle engine came from outside the window.

The nerves of both of them became tense at the same time. Only when the voice faded away did Li Zheng whisper, "Who else knows your identity?"

"Theoretically, there's only Director Wang."

Lu Yu's eyes subconsciously drifted off into the distance. "But there were seven people in the 'Deep Dive Project,' and now only three are still alive... I'm not sure if the other two are still on the police's side."

Li Zheng suddenly remembered something and turned back to a certain page in the file: "Here, your assessment report has traces of modification."

Li Zheng pointed to a discrepancy in the ink at the edge of a paragraph of text and said in a warning voice, "Someone has tampered with your psychological evaluation results."

Lu Yu's expression froze.

He reached out for the file and after examining it carefully, his face turned even paler. "This isn't Director Wang's handwriting..."

A rapid knock on the door interrupted him.

Li Zheng quickly drew his gun and approached the door, and saw Peacock's anxious face through the peephole.

"Safety."

He opened the door and let people in.

Kong Que was soaking wet, holding a broken cell phone in his hand. "We've been betrayed. The Viper gang is searching the entire city right now. They know Lu Yu is not dead."

He glanced at Lu Yu lying on the bed and said in a low voice, "Li Zheng, you have to decide who to go with—Director Wang just sent a message asking you to evacuate alone."

Li Zheng's body froze in place.

Director Wang was indeed his only contact, but the order came too strangely at this moment.

"Go ahead."

Lu Yu suddenly spoke, his voice returning to that casual tone, "A good police officer should obey the orders of his superiors."

This sentence was like a bucket of cold water that woke Li Zheng up.

He turned to Peacock and said, "Reply to Director Wang and tell him that Lu Yu has the key evidence and I need to continue my undercover mission."

Peacock raised his eyebrows in surprise, and an unfathomable emotion flashed in Lu Yu's eyes.

“Interesting choice.”

Peacock pulled out another phone. "But you only have ten minutes to decide how to leave here. There's an ambulance at the back door that can take you to the dock."

Ten minutes later, Li Zheng helped Lu Yu into the ambulance.

The smell of disinfectant in the car masked the smell of blood. Lu Yu, lying on a stretcher, suddenly grabbed Li Zheng's wrist and asked, "Why did you stay?"

Li Zheng looked at the rapidly receding street scene outside the window and said frankly, "Because the Black Ice Project is more important than your identity."

Lu Yu chuckled, then frowned slightly because of the pain: "Li Zheng, you are more suitable for this job than I thought."

Before his identity was confirmed, Lu Yu mostly addressed him as "A Zheng". Now that he suddenly changed his address to "Li Zheng", Li Zheng felt an inexplicable emotion in his heart.
