Chapter 217 Earthquake

Xia He interrupted her directly, "Just say what you want to say."

Xiao Lin was silent for a moment before saying, "Exactly, could we open a small door in the middle of our room? That way, it would be easier for me to feed the two little ones."

Xiao Lin was prepared for Xia He to reject him, but he didn't expect to hear Xia He say "okay" directly.

Xiao Lin thought he had misheard, so he asked again, "Really?" The look that met Xiao Lin's eyes said, "You'll see." Finally, Xiao Lin happily pulled Xia He home. Then, using his spiritual power, he carved a doorway between the two houses and took out another door from his spatial storage to install it. Today was finally over.

Xia He had been diligently cultivating these past few days without a proper rest. Now, having gotten rid of Xiao Lin, Xia He rushed to the bathroom, took a good bath, then lay down on the bed, took out her tablet, and comfortably snuggled in the blankets to watch a show to end the day.

"A life of laziness suits me best," Xia He said leisurely, lying on the bed.

The two little ones snuggled up on the bed, and the one person and two dogs fell asleep comfortably.

The next morning, Xia He was awakened by a series of clattering sounds.

All around was pitch black. Xia He impatiently reached for the typhoon fan beside the bed, and the room was instantly illuminated.

Xia He opened her sleepy eyes and noticed that the clattering sounds were coming from the kitchen.

Xia He got up impatiently and prepared to go to the kitchen.

As soon as you open the door, you see Xiao, the cook version of Rin, cooking a delicious breakfast in the kitchen. There is a pot of fresh shrimp porridge cooking in the pot, and a plate of green vegetables is being stir-fried in the pot next to it.

"You're awake! Go wash up and get ready for dinner." Xiao Lin, the cook version of herself, turned to Xia He and smiled slightly.

This made it impossible for Xia He to lash out, so she had to wash up first and then sit down on the sofa in the living room. Xia He's room still doesn't have a dining table, so she always eats on the coffee table.

At this moment, Xia He sat on the floor in front of the sofa, watching the TV series playing on the projection screen, waiting for Xiao Lin to feed her.

Xiao Lin placed the porridge and stir-fried side dishes in front of Xia He. Xia He looked at the porridge in front of her. The lobster porridge exuded a rich aroma of rice and was cooked until thick but not greasy.

Plump and tempting chunks of lobster meat float in the white porridge. The shells have been peeled off, revealing the white and tender meat, which is rosy, plump, and full of enticing aroma.

Every spoonful is bursting with the sweetness of seafood. The warm broth spreads in your mouth, and the lobster meat is plump, tender, and delicious, leaving you wanting more.

The stir-fried vegetables looked fresh and vibrant green, glistening with oil but not greasy, perfectly cooked.

Xia He took a bite, and the crisp texture was accompanied by a refreshing aroma. Each leaf was covered with a slight sheen of oil. The seasonings and spices used in the stir-fry added to the flavor of this dish. The slightly salty and savory taste was mixed with the freshness of the green vegetables. The stir-fried dish brought a subtle sense of happiness and made people's appetites soar.

"I didn't expect you to be such a good cook," Xia He said.

"I'll make it for you every day from now on," Xiao Lin replied with a smile, just as the two were enjoying their breakfast.

The two little ones suddenly became restless and kept circling around. Xia He noticed their abnormality and quickly went to comfort them. Suddenly, the furniture in the room began to move, and the ground shook.

The sudden tremor caused the entire room to shake violently, the furniture to sway, and the walls to rumble as if they were about to collapse. Xia He and Xiao Lin lost their balance and swayed precariously.

The violent tremors caused widespread panic; power lines snapped, windows shattered, and dust and debris flew everywhere. Inside, items overturned, clattering and crashing with a series of loud noises; porcelain, vases, and other objects shattered.

The floor shook incessantly, accompanied by a rumbling sound and a sense of oppression, as if the whole world was trembling. The earthquake continued relentlessly, making it difficult to stand; everything seemed to be shaking violently, even the walls and the ground were cracking.

Xiao Lin quickly reached out to protect Xia He, holding her tightly in his arms. "It's an earthquake," Xia He said.

“Yes, don’t worry, the base should be able to hold out,” Xiao Lin said.

The sudden earthquake shook the entire base. At first, the weak tremors gradually became violent, like the struggle of a giant beast, destroying the surrounding tranquility.

The objects in the room began to tremble and break free of their original positions. The windows emitted a sharp hissing sound, shards of glass scattered all over the floor, and electrical wires snapped in the violent swinging, sparks flying everywhere.

The floor seemed to surge like ocean waves, the furniture wobbled precariously, and books on the shelves fell one after another, hitting the floor with dull thuds. The portraits on the walls swayed precariously, and the decorations in the corners kept falling to the ground, making crisp shattering sounds.

The room was filled with dust and a pungent smell. The sofa and coffee table shook constantly, and dust flew out from the cracks, dancing in the air like startled birds.

"This is bad. The earthquake is more serious than we thought. If this continues, the defensive walls won't be able to hold it back," Xiao Lin said.

The earthquake's vibrations became more intense than expected, with shockwaves relentlessly battering the entire base. Furniture swirled wildly in the rooms, and cracks in the walls widened. As time passed, Xiao Lin and Xia He's anxieties intensified.

Xiao Lin's expression turned serious. This earthquake could pose a great threat to the base, and the defense facilities might not be able to withstand such a violent impact.

Xiao Lin used his mental detection to see that the outer shell of the base was falling off, and zombies were gathering in droves from afar. This was bad!

"Xia He, the zombies are starting to gather, and the base's defensive walls may not be able to hold!" Xiao Lin's tone was urgent. He realized that this was an emergency and that action had to be taken as soon as possible.
