When Xiao Lin heard Xia He say that, he felt a deep pain in his heart, and an indescribable sadness enveloped his heart, lingering for a long time.
Xia He's words echoed in the air, and a heavy atmosphere enveloped the living room. Xiao Lin stared at Xia He, his eyes revealing a complex emotion, a mixture of helplessness and sadness.
“Xia He, I understand your needs, and I never intended to restrict your freedom.” Xiao Lin’s voice was calm and firm. “But I’m just worried about you, worried that you might encounter danger in this dangerous world. I’m not asking you to completely depend on me, but I just hope that you can share your decisions with me when making important decisions.”
Xia He's eyes showed a slight hesitation, but she continued to insist on her position, "But this is so tiring. Why do I have to tell you what I want to do? I'll tell you if I want to, and I won't if I don't want to. Besides, I already told you I'm going out."
The emotional clash between Xia He and Xiao Lin sparked much reflection and emotional turmoil. Xia He's insistence on freedom and independence clashed with Xiao Lin's worries and expectations. This dialogue caused both of them heartache, as they struggled to find the freedom and care they truly needed.
“I’m not asking you to report to me all the time. I just hope we can understand and share with each other, not to restrict you.” Xiao Lin’s voice was heavy as he looked deeply at Xia He. “I don’t want anything to happen to you that I won’t know about.”
Xia He gazed at Xiao Lin with slight hesitation. "I know you mean well, but I can't do exactly what you expect. I need some space and freedom. It doesn't mean I don't care about you."
A silence and tension filled the living room; their relationship seemed stuck in an unsolvable impasse. They were both trying to find a mutually acceptable balance, but reality left them feeling lost and uncertain. Perhaps time and deeper communication could help them understand each other and find a way to build mutual trust and understanding.
“I don’t want to argue with you. I’ll say it again, this is just my personality. If you can take it, take it; if you can’t, leave.” After Xia He finished speaking, she got up to go back to her room, but at the moment she stood up, Xiao Lin grabbed Xia He’s hand. “I…I didn’t mean that.”
Xia He glanced back at Xiao Lin, feeling the touch of his hand, but she remained silent. She turned to face him, her eyes conveying complex emotions and hesitation. She knew of Xiao Lin's worry and concern, but she also deeply felt her own yearning for freedom and independence.
“I know,” Xia He said softly, trying to make her voice sound calm, “but we all need to calm down right now.”
Xiao Lin remained silent, only holding Xia He's hand tightly, his eyes filled with indescribable emotions. In this silence, the two seemed to sense each other's inner struggles and contradictions.
Xia He gently withdrew her hand and slowly walked towards the room, her heart filled with complex emotions. Xiao Lin watched Xia He's retreating figure. He knew that they needed time and space to calm down, but his heart was still filled with unease and worry.
Inside the room, Xia He gently closed the door, her thoughts in turmoil, a mix of emotions surging within her. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down.
In the living room, Xiao Lin sat on the sofa, watching Xia He's departing figure. He knew that now was not the time to continue their conversation, and he needed time to process the emotional turmoil he had just experienced. A sense of helplessness and inner conflict filled the depths of his heart.
After a moment of contemplation, Xia He led the two little ones to the space. At this time, Xiao Hua was wandering around the space, eavesdropping on Xia He and Xiao Lin's conversation. When she saw Xia He bring the two little ones to the space, she immediately went to greet them.
She made a tsk-tsk sound, "Tsk tsk tsk, I can't believe it, Xia He, Xiao Lin is so humble in front of you. If it were me, I would definitely explode."
Xia He ignored Xiao Hua's words, took the two little ones to the room she had built, let them play by themselves, and then went to the bathroom to take a comfortable bath. Although the life in the RV was nice, there were always some inconveniences, such as not being able to take a comfortable bath.
While taking a bath, Xia He kept thinking about Xiao Lin's words and Xiao Hua's words. She wondered if she had been too cold to Xiao Lin. But to be honest, Xia He hadn't thought about Xiao Lin much while she was out. Instead, she was quite happy and carefree on her own.
"Oh well, whatever, let's just leave it at that." Xia He said, then added more hot water, took out her tablet to watch TV, and soaked comfortably in the bath. It was such a pleasant experience!
After taking a shower, Xia He still didn't plan to leave the space. Instead, she lay down in the room with Xiao Hua and the two little ones. Xia He felt that she hadn't treated herself properly in a long time, so she arranged a small feast in the room.
She brought out a carved wooden round table, covered it with a gorgeous silk tablecloth inlaid with delicate patterns. On the table was a set of exquisite porcelain, the gold-rimmed, emerald-green bowls and plates exuding a rustic and elegant charm.
Xia He carefully arranged various dishes, all with Sichuan flavors. The fragrant spicy hot pot exuded an enticing aroma, its strong numbing and spicy scent wafting through the rising steam. This hot pot contained ingredients of various colors: red chilies, bright green vegetables, golden potato slices, and pink meat slices, all soaking in a deep red broth. Every piece of food was coated in the rich, spicy sauce, releasing an irresistible aroma.
