Chapter 272 Dilemma
In the car, Lu Chen held Fang Lanxin's hand and never let go.
Fang Lanxin looked at him.
"Ah Chen, is there something you want to tell me?"
Lu Chen was stunned for a moment.
He turned to look at Fang Lanxin, a hint of struggle flashing in his eyes.
"Sister Fang..."
"Um?"
"Will you... always stay with me?"
Fang Lanxin's heart tightened.
She looked at Lu Chen and saw the almost obsessive longing in his eyes.
"Ah Chen..."
"I know I shouldn't do this," Lu Chen interrupted her, his voice trembling slightly. "But I can't control myself."
"Just thinking about the possibility of you leaving me makes me..."
He didn't finish his sentence, but Fang Lanxin already understood.
Lu Chen's dependence on her had reached a pathological level.
"Ah Chen, listen to me." Fang Lanxin held Lu Chen's hand. "I won't leave you, but you can't rely on me like this."
You need to learn to be independent and face life on your own.
Lu Chen looked at Fang Lanxin, his eyes filled with pain.
"But I can't do it..."
"You can do it," Fang Lanxin said gently. "You just need time."
Lu Chen remained silent for a long time.
The car was parked in front of the restaurant.
The two people got out of the car and went inside.
Lu Chen had booked the restaurant in advance; the entire second floor had been reserved.
There were only the two of them.
"Sister Fang, this is something I prepared especially for you." Lu Chen pulled out a chair and let Fang Lanxin sit down.
Fang Lanxin looked at the table full of dishes and was somewhat surprised.
When did you order it?
"Yesterday." Lu Chen sat down opposite her. "I knew you'd come."
Fang Lanxin smiled.
"You're quite confident."
"Because I understand you." Lu Chen looked at her earnestly. "Sister Fang, I understand you better than anyone else."
"I know what you like and what you dislike."
"I know you rub your temples when you're tired, and stare out the window when you're in a bad mood."
I know all your habits.
Fang Lanxin was stunned.
She hadn't expected Lu Chen to be so observant.
"Ah Chen..."
"Sister Fang, I'm serious." Lu Chen stood up, walked to Fang Lanxin, and knelt down on one knee.
"I know I'm not good enough for you, I know I still have many problems."
"But please give me a chance to stay by your side."
"Even just being your family is enough for me."
Fang Lanxin looked at Lu Chen, her throat tightening slightly.
This is the second time in the past two days that someone has knelt in front of her.
"Ah Chen, get up."
"I won't get up unless you agree." Lu Chen looked at her stubbornly.
Fang Lanxin sighed.
"Ah Chen, I can't agree to that."
Lu Chen's body stiffened.
"Why?"
"Because you're not in the right state right now." Fang Lanxin reached out and touched Lu Chen's head. "Your feelings for me aren't love, they're dependence."
"What you need is not me, but psychotherapy."
Lu Chen suddenly looked up.
"No!" His voice was trembling with emotion. "You're the one I need!"
"Sister Fang, you don't understand what you mean to me!"
"You are my only light, my only salvation!"
"I can't live without you!"
Fang Lanxin was startled.
She looked at Lu Chen and saw the almost obsessive persistence in his eyes.
"Ah Chen, calm down."
"I'm very calm!" Lu Chen gripped Fang Lanxin's hand, his grip so tight it hurt a little. "Sister Fang, I've never been this calm before!"
"I know what I'm saying, I know what I want!"
I want you!
Fang Lan wanted to pull her hand away, but Lu Chen held it too tightly.
"Ah Chen, let go."
"I won't let go." Lu Chen shook his head. "If you don't agree, I won't let go."
Fang Lanxin frowned.
"Ah Chen, you're forcing me."
"Then I'll force you!" Lu Chen suddenly laughed, a self-deprecating smile on his face. "Anyway, I have nothing left to lose."
"If even you don't want me anymore, what's the point of my life?"
Fang Lanxin's heart sank.
She could tell.
Lu Chen is threatening her.
He used his own life.
"Ah Chen..."
"Sister Fang, I won't hurt you." Lu Shen released her hand and took a step back. "I just wanted you to know how important you are to me."
"I can wait, I can change, I can do anything."
"As long as you don't leave me."
Fang Lanxin looked at Lu Chen, a mix of emotions welling up inside her.
This child is really quite ill.
"Ah Chen, listen to me." Fang Lanxin stood up and walked to Lu Chen. "I won't leave you, but you have to promise me one thing."
"What's up?"
"Go see a psychologist."
Lu Chen's expression changed.
"I don't need..."
"You need it," Fang Lanxin interrupted him. "Achen, your current condition is dangerous; you need professional help."
Lu Chen remained silent for a long time.
"If I see a therapist, will you still stay with me?"
"I will not leave you," Fang Lanxin promised.
Lu Chen looked at Fang Lanxin and finally nodded.
"Okay, I'll go."
Fang Lanxin breathed a sigh of relief.
The two sat down to eat again.
But the atmosphere wasn't as relaxed as it had been before.
After dinner, Lu Chen escorted Fang Lanxin home.
The car was parked in front of the villa.
Fang Lanxin unbuckled her seatbelt and prepared to get out of the car.
"Sister Fang." Lu Chen suddenly called out to her.
Fang Lanxin turned her head.
"Is there anything else?"
Lu Chen looked at her, his eyes full of seriousness.
"I will be alright."
"Then, I will pursue you openly and honestly."
Fang Lanxin paused for a moment, then smiled.
"Okay, I'll wait."
After getting out of the car, Fang Lanxin stood at the door and watched Lu Chen's car leave.
She sighed, turned and walked into the villa.
In the living room, Kenneth Fok was looking at documents.
"Mom, you're back."
"Hmm." Fang Lanxin sat down on the sofa. "Where's Siya?"
"He's gone out." Huo Qibang put down the documents. "Mom, tomorrow, the Li family's..."
"I know," Fang Lanxin interrupted him. "I'll go talk to them myself tomorrow."
Kenneth Fok nodded.
"Mom, you've been working too hard lately. Why don't you take a few days off?"
"No need," Fang Lanxin shook her head. "This is a crucial moment; I can't afford to let my guard down."
Huo Qibang looked at his mother with heartache in his eyes.
"Mom..."
"Qibang, there's something I need to tell you," Fang Lanxin suddenly said.
"What's up?"
"About Ling Ye and Lu Chen," Fang Lanxin paused. "They...have feelings for me."
Huo Qibang's face instantly darkened.
"Mom, you..."
"I know what you're trying to say," Fang Lanxin raised her hand to stop him. "But I'll handle this myself."
"But Mother..."
"Qibang, I'm your mother, but I'm also a woman." Fang Lanxin looked earnestly at Huo Qibang. "I have the right to choose my own life."
Kenneth Fok opened his mouth, but ultimately said nothing.
He stood up, turned around, and went upstairs.
Fang Lanxin watched Huo Qibang's retreating figure and sighed.
My phone rang.
Fang Lanxin picked it up and saw it was a message from Guan Jingshen.
"Lanxin, do you need my help with the Li family's affairs tomorrow?"
