Chapter 524 Qin Yanzheng fainted

Upon arriving at the staff hospital, Qin Yanzheng went straight to the obstetrics department. As soon as he saw Li Jumei, he called out to her and then asked, "How long has Lanlan been inside?"

Because she was preoccupied with her precious daughter, Li Jumei didn't respond for a long time. Song Sanhe and Grandpa Chen were also staring intently at the delivery room door, as if they hadn't heard what Qin Yanzheng said. Well, they hadn't even noticed Qin Yanzheng's appearance.

"About fifteen minutes."

Seeing this, Chen Dongxu responded. Qin Yanzheng thanked him and, like everyone else present, stared intently at the closed delivery room door, hoping to find out what was happening inside as soon as possible.

Time ticked by, but the delivery room door remained closed.

Qin Yanzheng couldn't help but become anxious. He would scratch his hair and pace back and forth, his whole body exuding tension and unease.

"Lanlan will be fine, don't be too nervous."

Chen Dongxu seemed to be affected by Qin Yanzheng's emotions, but he knew he had to remain calm. Therefore, while forcibly calming himself down, he did not forget to comfort Qin Yanzheng, so as not to make the atmosphere around them more tense by pacing back and forth.

"Xiao Xu is right. There's no use in us being nervous. We should believe that Lanlan and her child will come out safely."

Grandma Chen turned her gaze to Qin Yanzheng, offering him comfort with a loving expression.

Upon hearing this, Qin Yanzheng was taken aback at first, then responded with an "Mm".

Suddenly, a loud cry of a newborn baby came from the delivery room!

"It's born!"

Chen Dongxu cheered, "Grandpa and Grandma, did you hear that? Lanlan gave birth!"

His gaze fell on Old Master Chen and Old Madam Chen, and Chen Dongxu's face was full of smiles. Before the two of them could say anything, he turned his gaze to Song Sanhe and Li Jumei: "Second Uncle, Second Aunt, Lanlan has given birth!"

Li Jumei smiled and nodded: "Yes, she gave birth. Lanlan has given birth. The baby's voice is very loud, so it must be very healthy!"

Song Sanhe nodded happily, agreeing with what Li Jumei said.

Seeing everyone's happy faces, Qin Yanzheng remained extremely nervous. When the loud cry of a newborn baby came from the delivery room again, everyone waiting outside the delivery room breathed a sigh of relief.

Well, Qin Yanzheng is an exception; his expression still showed obvious tension as he stared intently at the delivery room door.

"I wonder if Lanlan gave birth to two boys, two girls, or maybe twins?"

Chen Dongxu's tone was full of curiosity.

"What, are you being sexist?"

Grandma Chen glared at Chen Dongxu.

"Grandma, you're wronging me. I was just curious, and there was absolutely no sexism involved."

Chen Dongxu protested his innocence.

"You better be right, or else I'll teach you a lesson!"

There was no concept of favoring boys over girls in their family; in fact, she even seemed to have a slight preference for girls. This might be related to the fact that she had three sons and no daughters. But then again...

Before she reunited with her long-lost second son, Chang'an (Song Sanhe), she did have a little girl in her life, but strangely,

She couldn't feel much affection for this granddaughter, but she inexplicably had a good feeling about the little girl that her third son's third wife brought into the family.

Unexpectedly, the child was lost when she was five or six years old. Thinking of the little girl's image that had become blurry in her mind, Old Mrs. Chen couldn't help but feel a pang of regret.

What a lovely girl, how could she have gotten lost?

"Grandma, I swear to God, if I'm lying to you, then I'm a dog!"

As he spoke, Chen Dongxu made a gesture as if to raise his right hand.

"I want to be sent to a farm for reformation, so I can go on acting crazy here!"

Grandma Chen glared at Chen Dongxu again, then ignored her somewhat foolish grandson.

The tightly closed delivery room door finally opened from the inside.

"You are all Dr. Song's family members, right?"

Two nurses came out, each carrying a swaddled baby. One of them, a round-faced nurse, spoke, and seeing the people waiting outside the delivery room nodding in unison, she couldn't help but smile and offer her congratulations:

Congratulations! Dr. Song has successfully given birth to twin boys, and both mother and babies are doing well!

Grandpa Chen and Grandma Chen reached out before Li Jumei and Song Sanhe could, and each took their great-grandson from the two nurses.

"Nurse, my wife...is my wife sure she's alright?"

"Yes, nurse, is my daughter really alright?"

Qin Yanzheng and Li Jumei asked the round-faced nurse one after the other.

"Don't worry, the mother's condition is stable, and she will be able to leave the delivery room soon."

The round-faced nurse's name was Fang Fei. She was the third daughter-in-law of the old lady surnamed Su, whom Song Lan had met briefly on the day she went to the county town to take the medical qualification exam.

Because they worked at the same hospital, and Song Lan had helped out in the obstetrics and gynecology department, Fang Fei and Song Lan were quite familiar with each other.

Well, out of admiration for strength, Fang Fei was extremely enamored with Song Lan. Every weekend when she returned to her hometown in the county, she would inevitably mention Song Lan to her family.

Therefore, her congratulations to Li Jumei and others earlier were entirely from the bottom of her heart.

Pregnant with twins is already a heavy burden on the body, and childbirth undoubtedly consumes a lot of physical strength. Especially since Song Lan gave birth to twins naturally, it can be said that she was almost exhausted after giving birth to her second baby.

Upon learning that her two children were healthy and that she had given birth to twin boys, she was so tired that she forced herself to stay awake until the nurses carried the babies out of the delivery room and handed them to her family before she could finally close her eyes and rest.

Thanks to her exceptional hearing, she overheard a conversation between nurses Fang Fei and Li Jumei before she closed her eyes to rest.

It wasn't that Song Lan didn't trust the nurses; it was that she was afraid of the possibility that the same accident that happened to her and Song Jiaojiao might happen to her two children.

On the other hand, when Song Lan closed her eyes to rest, she felt that her worries were a bit excessive, because she hadn't forgotten what the nurse said when she told her the good news after the two children were born—Dr. Song, you gave birth to two boys, and they look exactly alike!

"Thank you! Thank you both, nurses!"

After confirming with nurse Fang Fei that Song Lan was alright, Li Jumei thanked her with a smile.

Qin Yanzheng naturally thanked Fang Fei and the other nurse as well, but the moment he finished speaking, his mind relaxed, and he felt a sudden darkness before his eyes, and he fainted to the ground.

"Yan Zheng (brother-in-law)!"

Song Sanhe and Chen Dongxu were the first to react. They hurriedly called out to Qin Yanzheng and quickly went to help him up, while also calling a doctor to examine him.

-

Song Lan was taken back to her ward and woke up around 2 p.m.

"Second Aunt, little Lanlan is awake!"

Chen Dongxu sat on a chair next to Song Lan's hospital bed. When he saw Song Lan slowly open her eyes, he quickly looked at Li Jumei and happily told her.

How long did I sleep?

Song Lan asked Chen Dongxu.

"Four or five hours."

Chen Dongxu responded, and upon hearing this, Song Lan turned her gaze and saw Li Jumei walking towards her. She couldn't help but give an apologetic smile: "Mom, thank you for your hard work!"
