Chapter 525 I Don't Care

"What hardship have I endured?"

Li Jumei glared at her beloved daughter and said, "Of course you've had a hard time, but thankfully you and your two children are all safe and sound, and the two kids are healthy. This is a great joy for our family!"

"Sister Lanlan, I have to tell you, your husband has fainted!"

Chen Dongxu couldn't help but laugh when he mentioned the embarrassing things Qin Yanzheng had done.

"ah?"

Song Lan's eyes were filled with confusion: "Qin Yanzheng fainted, what happened?"

"My brother-in-law arrived at the hospital shortly after you entered the delivery room. Due to excessive tension, he fainted in front of everyone outside the delivery room the moment the door opened, after confirming with the nurse that you were alright."

Don't worry, the doctor said your brother-in-law was just overly nervous, and then suddenly relaxed, which caused that reaction.

Chen Dongxu spoke and laughed. After he finished speaking, Song Lan's lips twitched involuntarily, but she still asked with concern about Qin Yanzheng's current situation: "Has he woken up yet?"

"I woke up an hour ago, and I should be on my way back with hot water now."

Qin Yanzheng left the ward with a thermos a few minutes before Song Lan woke up, and now, just as Chen Dongxu said, he was carrying a thermos full of hot water on his way back to the ward.

"knew."

Song Lan smiled back at Chen Dongxu and asked, "Are your grandparents and dad home right now?"

"Um."

Chen Dongxu nodded.

Li Jumei said, "Your dad went back to the family compound to make soup for you. He thought that your grandparents were getting old and their health would suffer if they stayed in the hospital for too long, so he took them back to the family compound with him."

"By the way, my second uncle and brother-in-law both said that Grandpa should name my two little nephews. Grandpa said he has to think about it carefully and decide on names for the two little nephews before dark tonight."

Chen Dongxu said with a grin, and upon hearing this, Song Lan blinked and said, "Brother Dongxu, are you sure you haven't gotten the way you're addressing me?"

"Um?"

Did you get the form of address wrong?

Chen Dongxu's eyes were filled with doubt.

Li Jumei then said with a smile, "Xiao Xu, you and Lanlan are cousins, so Lanlan's child should call you uncle!"

"..."

After a moment's hesitation, Chen Dongxu said dismissively, "I think it's all the same. I don't care what the two little ones call me."

"Outsiders will laugh at your brother-in-law and me for being ignorant and not knowing how to teach our children to address their elders in public."

She and Chen Dongxu are cousins, so her children should call him "little uncle" instead of "little uncle". Otherwise, when the two children go out in the future, they will be gossiped about by acquaintances.

“It was my fault, I lacked common sense. Lanlan is right, so I’ll listen to you. Those two little ones lying in the crib are my nephews, not my nieces. They should call me uncle from now on.”

Chen Dongxu glanced at the crib with a smile, his tone light and cheerful, showing no resentment what Song Lan had said.

"Xiao Xu really knows how to talk!"

Li Jumei praised Chen Dongxu.

"You flatter me, Auntie!"

Chen Dongxu playfully bowed to Li Jumei.

Song Lan chuckled softly, agreeing with Li Jumei's words: "My mother is right, Brother Dongxu, you really know how to talk." Suddenly, as if thinking of something, Song Lan asked, "I heard you say you were working, but you've been here with Grandpa and Grandma for a while now. Did you lose your job in Beijing?"

"No, I came here partly to accompany my grandparents to your doctor's appointment, and partly to do some business here and find more sales channels for our factory's products."

When Chen Dongxu talked about his work, his expression became more serious: "My grandparents are recovering very well now, and I plan to go back in a couple of days."

"You're awake!"

The ward door was pushed open, and Qin Yanzheng walked in carrying a thermos. Seeing that Song Lan had woken up, his dark eyes immediately filled with tenderness and a smile.

Song Lan smiled and hummed in agreement.

Qin Yanzheng poured three cups of hot water and placed them on the table. Then, he put down the thermos and looked at Li Jumei and Chen Dongxu: "Mom, Dongxu, I poured you some water to cool down. You can drink it later so you don't burn yourselves."

Li Jumei and the other woman nodded and replied, "Okay."

I'm going out for a bit.

Chen Dongxu shifted his gaze from Qin Yanzheng to Song Lan, then looked at Li Jumei, before making an excuse to leave the ward.

Clearly, he was leaving space for Qin Yanzheng and Song Lan to talk.

Li Jumei didn't stay in the ward for long. She picked up a basin and a towel and said to Song Lan and Qin Yanzheng, "Keep an eye on the child. I'm going to get some hot water to scald the towel."

Before Song Lan and the other person could react, she had already walked out of the ward and closed the door behind her.

"Honey, you've worked so hard!"

Sitting on the chair by the hospital bed, Qin Yanzheng held Song Lan's hand, his eyes full of tenderness and affection. He said, "When I found out you were going to give birth, I rushed to the hospital, but I waited and waited for you to come out of the delivery room. Do you know how nervous and scared I was?"

I was so afraid I'd never see you again, and I even wished I could have given birth to your child. Thankfully you're alright, otherwise, I don't know what I might have done.

"Fool! Didn't I tell you that giving birth is nothing serious? Why are you making yourself so nervous? I heard that you fainted before I was wheeled out of the ward. If outsiders find out, they'll probably spread all sorts of rumors about you."

Perhaps because she had been paying attention to appropriate exercise before giving birth, and with her two children being so considerate, she didn't feel much pain during childbirth.

Well, she did use a lot of effort, but the pain of childbirth was well within her tolerance, meaning she didn't suffer much.

"I don't care what others say, I just want you to be alright."

Qin Yanzheng genuinely didn't care what others said about him. He reached out and tucked a stray hair behind Song Lan's ear, saying, "Childbirth is both hard and dangerous for women; it's not as easy as you make it sound. I know you're just trying to keep me from worrying."

But husband and wife are one; when you suffer in the delivery room, I can imagine the pain you're enduring!

"Look at what you're saying. I just gave birth, and you're making it sound like I went through hell and high water. That's a bit of an exaggeration."

Song Lanming smiled, her voice soft and tinged with a faint chuckle: "Besides, I'm giving birth to our child. Even if it's hard and painful, it's all worth it for me."

The hardship and pain of childbirth, to put it bluntly, is a process that every mother has to go through. Only by feeling that hardship and pain can one truly appreciate the joy of becoming a mother for the first time and the continuation of life for both husband and wife!

Of course, the two little ones she gave birth to are the fruits of her love with the man in front of her, and also the closest bond between them!

"Wife~"

Holding Song Lan's hand tightly, Qin Yanzheng brought it to his lips and kissed it lightly. His eyes were tender as he said softly, "We have two little rascals now. We're parents. I'm so happy!"
