The two walked and talked, no longer bothered by the heat, and decided not to take the bus, walking all the way back to the hospital.
Upon arriving at the hospital entrance, Ding Qiunan said, "I'll leave you here. You should go home soon too."
"I'll walk you to your dorm entrance."
Ding Qiunan glanced at him with some surprise.
Li Chu asked with a smile, "Is there a problem?"
"No problem!" Ding Qiunan smiled and walked towards the dormitory.
The two walked side by side, chatting and laughing.
Li Chu felt that since the two of them had already decided to be together, there was no need to be secretive; it wasn't anything shameful.
Many doctors and nurses coming and going in the hospital knew Li Chu, and seeing the two of them like this, they all understood what was going on.
In fact, quite a few single women in the hospital were interested in Li Chu, and some even asked matchmakers to help them, but nothing came of it, which explained the situation.
Similarly, quite a few single men have taken a liking to Ding Qiunan, who came to study, but before they could even make a move, she had already been reserved by someone else, much to their frustration.
The two walked through the hospital like this, and when they ran into acquaintances, Li Chu would generously introduce Ding Qiunan as his girlfriend.

He didn't plan to take Ding Qiunan out to dinner today because she is quite frugal, and it would be a real problem for her if he took her out to eat too often.

Li Chu made braised chicken at home, and good heavens, every household in the yard with children erupted in protest, crying and demanding meat. The adults were furious, jumping up and down in their homes, yelling at Li Chu.
It took more than an hour to prepare. Li Chu took out a lunchbox, packed the two dishes, then put the dishes and rice into his bag, and went out.
As soon as he stepped out, he saw the Third Uncle standing at his door, looking in his direction. "Third Uncle, have you eaten yet? I have something to do here and I'm in a hurry, so I'll be going now."
They left without giving the old man a chance to speak.
"Hey, that kid, he runs really fast!" The third uncle muttered to himself as he watched Li Chu leave without even stopping.
I didn't dare walk too fast on the way, afraid that the soup from the braised chicken would spill out.
Just as they arrived at the hospital, the announcement for lunch started. From afar, they saw Ding Qiunan and her roommate walking towards the cafeteria with their lunchboxes. Li Chu called out her name, and when she turned around, he waved his handbag at her.
Ding Qiunan greeted her roommates and then came over.
"Why are you here again?" Ding Qiunan found it a bit strange.
"Come on, let's go to the office to eat. I've made you some food." After saying that, he gestured for Ding Qiunan to follow.
"You cooked? Li Chu, you can cook?"
"What a joke! What would I eat if I didn't cook? Is it really that surprising that I can cook?"
"No, I just find it a bit strange that you would think of cooking for me and bringing it over."
Once inside the office, Li Chu took out his lunchbox, opened the lid, and said, "Come on, take a look at the food I made."
As soon as the lunchbox was opened, a rich aroma wafted out. Ding Qiunan took a deep sniff and exclaimed, "It smells so good!"
"Come on, Qiu Nan, give me your lunchbox, I'll get you some food." Li Chu scooped half of the rice out of the lunchbox and handed it to Ding Qiu Nan.
"Try my cooking and see how it tastes." Li Chu picked up his chopsticks and put a piece of chicken on Ding Qiunan's plate.
Ding Qiunan picked up a piece of chicken, took a bite, and nodded repeatedly: "Mmm, it smells delicious, and it tastes even better."
"Eat more if it's delicious."
The two of them took turns eating with their chopsticks, and soon finished all the food.
After putting down her chopsticks, Ding Qiunan looked at Li Chu and said, "Thank you, Li Chu."
Why thank me?
"Thank you for cooking for me and bringing me food. I really didn't expect that."
Li Chu reached out and flicked Ding Qiunan's nose. "What's there to thank me for? Why can't I cook? It's normal for who cooks after we get married."
Ding Qiunan didn't speak, but just looked at Li Chu and smiled, her eyes almost overflowing with love.
There were quite a few patients today. After seeing off the last patient, Li Chu checked his watch and it was almost 11 o'clock. Ding Qiunan was tidying up the registration tickets on the table, which needed to be handed in after get off work this afternoon.
Just then, two more people walked in through the door. Ding Qiunan looked up and said, "Brother Dagang, sister-in-law, you're here."
The man named Da Gang said, "My master told me what you said, so your sister-in-law and I took leave today specifically to come and see you."
Hearing what they were saying, Li Chu looked over and saw a couple in their thirties, both wearing navy blue work clothes. They must have worked at Ding Qiunan's factory.
Ding Qiunan gestured for the two to sit down and said to Li Chu, "Li Chu, this is my father's apprentice. I've told you about him before."
Upon hearing this, Li Chu immediately realized that these were the couple who had been unable to have children due to miscarriage. She smiled and greeted them, "I've heard Qiu Nan mention you before. Come, sister-in-law, sit here and let me take a look at you." Knowing the couple was anxious, Li Chu didn't waste any time and immediately invited them over to take her pulse.
After taking his pulse, Li Chu put his hand down and pondered for a while.
The couple looked anxious when they saw Li Chu's actions. Ding Qiunan gestured for them not to rush.
After a while, Li Chu said, "The problem isn't too serious. I'll give you a few acupuncture treatments and then prescribe some medicine."
Then he said to Ding Qiunan, "Qiunan, have your sister-in-law lie down on the bed inside and expose her lower abdomen."
It's best to have a woman present when a male doctor is giving a female patient an acupuncture treatment, to avoid any appearance of impropriety.
Li Chu took out the acupuncture needles, disinfected them, and then said to Da Gang, "Brother Da Gang, please sit down first. I'll insert the needles into your wife's vagina."
"Okay, Dr. Li, you're busy. Thank you."
Li Chu walked behind the curtain, where Da Gang's wife, with Ding Qiunan's help, was already prepared.
When Li Chu came in, Da Gang's wife was a little shy and kept her eyes tightly closed.
Li Chu walked over and pressed his hand on his abdomen: "Don't be nervous, relax."
Ding Qiunan also offered a few words of comfort.
Sensing that Da Gang's wife was gradually relaxing, Li Chu inserted the needle. He then left, leaving Ding Qiunan with him.
