Chapter 1 Rebirth (2/2)

Yes, this is her room when she was 17.

Sometimes, when people are having a bad time in life, they will repeatedly recall the good times in their lives...

Over the next decade, she recalled everything in that room countless times—the bed, the cabinet, the chair, even a small book on the cabinet—all of which vaguely resembled the most beautiful images in her memory.

Ye Ran was certain; she had returned to the year she was seventeen.

Looking in the mirror, Ye Ran saw what she looked like at seventeen.

Her clear, bright pupils, arched eyebrows, and long eyelashes trembled slightly as her gaze moved. Her lips, as luscious as rose petals, and her already fair and smooth skin, made even paler by the water, gave her an air of fragility and delicate beauty.

Ye Ran's eyes welled up with tears. This was the real her, Ye Ran, the best girl in Willow Leaf Village, not the middle-aged woman with white hair and wrinkles who looked like an old woman eighteen years later.

Looking at herself in the mirror, Ye Ran vowed that this time she would live for herself and protect her father and mother.

Most importantly... don't repeat the same mistakes...

Just then, Bai Yue suddenly called out, "Ranran, are you awake? Mom made your favorite egg noodles, come and eat."

Ye Ran took a deep breath: "It's here, it smells so good! I'm going to eat every last one." With that, she lifted the curtain and walked into the main room.

Ye Jun and Bai Yue were already sitting at the table waiting for her to start the meal. They both looked at their beloved daughter with smiles in their eyes.

Bai Yue smiled and said, "Eat quickly, Mom will make more if it's not enough!"

Ye Ran smiled and nodded, then lowered her head and took a bite of noodles. The chewy texture of the noodles and the savory aroma of the broth instantly overwhelmed her lips and tongue.

Ye Ran hadn't tasted this flavor in years. Overwhelmed with indescribable satisfaction, she quickly sped up her eating.

Bai Yue said helplessly, "You must be starving. Eat slowly, don't choke."

Ye Jun looked at the mother and daughter with satisfaction, feeling a warmth in his heart. "By the way, Qingyan rescued Ranran yesterday. Let's bring some things to thank him properly later!"

Bai Yue nodded in agreement: "That's right. I didn't expect Qingyan to save Ranran again this time. He's really different from that family. No matter what, we can't forget to repay the life-saving grace. We should thank him properly."

Upon hearing the name Xu Qingyan, Ye Ran instantly lost control of her emotions, and a surge of intense hatred overwhelmed her.

In her past life, it was because he saved her from drowning that she fell in love with him, which led to the series of events that followed.

But she just saw it with her own eyes—it was Lu Yi who saved her! In her previous life, Lu Yi was considered a thorn in Xu Qingyan's side, and Ye Ran had never had any interaction with him.

But little did she know, Lu Yi was her true benefactor...

It turns out that Xu Qingyan didn't save him at all; he was just a scoundrel who took credit for someone else's kindness!

"Xu Qingyan!" Ye Ran said through gritted teeth, "Was it really him who saved me?"

Bai Yue raised her eyebrows in surprise: "Yeah, Ranran, what's wrong?"

Ye Jun was also puzzled and said, "Ranran, it was Qingyan who saved you! No matter what happened between our family and the Xu family, Qingyan is a good kid and has always been polite."

Seeing her parents speaking up for Xu Qingyan and trusting him completely, Ye Ran felt a surge of resentment. She thought to herself that Xu Qingyan was a hypocrite, a beast in human skin, who had managed to deceive so many people with his pretense.

But seeing her puzzled parents, she had no choice but to suppress her words and pretend to be confused: "But when I was about to faint, I saw that it was Lu Yi, the educated youth, who saved me."

Seeing her parents' shocked expressions, Ye Ran tilted her head innocently, and no one saw the hatred that flashed across her face.

Xu Qingyan, you weren't the one who saved me! Don't even think about taking credit for it this time! And don't even think about using me as a stepping stone like you did in the last life! You'll never have an easy life in this one!
