Chapter 439 Moving

Whether he's the richest man or not, Sheng Xiping doesn't care about that empty title; he just wants to make some money.

Well, if he hadn't lost this job, Sheng Xiping might have been transferred to the bureau's processing plant as Zhou Mingyuan had arranged.

A regular job, with occasional side hustles, might even lead to career advancement.

Even if the forestry bureau goes downhill in the future, he won't be laid off.

Or, even if he didn't get promoted, Sheng Xiping could simply contract a factory and run it himself, earning a considerable amount of money.

Life goes on peacefully, with children, a virtuous wife and filial children, a leisurely and carefree life, which is quite beautiful.

Now that I've lost this job, I have to find another way to make more money. How can I develop my career without capital? How can I provide for my children?

Therefore, Sheng Xiping set his sights on the corn business.

Judging by the timeline, that person definitely hasn't gone to Shekou yet, so I'm sorry, I'll just have to take their place.

Chen Ruiqing nodded upon hearing this, "Yes, yes, I think this can be done."

"As long as you find the right connections, whether it's corn purchasing quotas or transportation quotas, I'll get it all sorted out for you."

Chen Ruiqing is still in charge of foreign trade, but he also has influence in other areas. This little matter is nothing to him.

"Alright, thank you very much, brother." Sheng Xiping clasped his hands in a fist salute to Chen Ruiqing and smiled.

"Why are you thanking me? It's nothing."

Chen Ruiqing smiled, turned around and sat behind his desk, took out a notebook, wrote down his cousin's address and contact information, and then casually wrote a letter to his cousin.

Then, he handed all of these over to Sheng Xiping. "When are you going to Guangzhou? I'll call Lao Qi in advance and let him know."

"I need to pick up Aunt Li first, then go home to settle my wife and children. It will probably take four or five days before I set off for Guangzhou."

There's no time to lose. Since we've made up our minds, we should act quickly so that no one else gets there first.

"Okay, I understand. Here's what I'll do: I'll arrange a car to take you to Lijiawa to pick up Aunt Li, so you don't have to go by yourself."

Chen Ruiqing waved his hand and called out loudly, "Xiao Wu, tell the driver to prepare the car and go to Lijiawa to pick someone up."

The secretary outside responded and immediately went to make the arrangements. She returned shortly afterward and said that everything was arranged.

"Brother, then I'll pick up Aunt Li and head straight back. Next time, let's have a drink together."

Sheng Xiping was in a hurry to get home and couldn't afford to delay any longer.

"Okay, okay, all of this is easy to discuss. Anyway, you'll be coming here often in the future, so we'll have plenty of opportunities."

Chen Ruiqing waved his hand, signaling Sheng Xiping to hurry up and get down to business.

And so, Sheng Xiping went downstairs and got into the car that Chen Ruiqing had arranged for him.

After the driver found out where they were going, he stepped on the gas and drove out of the compound, heading straight for Lijiawa Brigade.

The Lijiawa brigade is about 40 or 50 miles away from the provincial capital, and it takes less than an hour to drive there.

Sheng Xiping directed the driver to park the car outside Aunt Li's courtyard. The mud-brick houses that used to be there were now much more dilapidated.

Sheng Xiping got out of the car and pushed open the gate to enter the courtyard. "Auntie, Aunt Li, are you home?" he asked as he walked in.

Just as I reached the doorway, I saw Aunt Li come out of the house.

"Oh, it's Xiping! What brings you here?" Aunt Li was quite surprised to see Sheng Xiping.

"How is Qinglan? Where are the children?" What Aunt Li was most worried about was Zhou Qinglan and the two children.

"Auntie, here's the thing, isn't Qinglan going to work at the bureau? She can't take care of two children by herself."

I was thinking that you must be bored at home all by yourself. Could you come with me to my place and help Qinglan and me take care of the children for a few more years?

Time was tight, and Sheng Xiping didn't have time to beat around the bush, so as soon as he saw Aunt Li, he asked directly, "Don't worry about the salary, it definitely won't be unfair to you."

"Sure, oh dear, it doesn't matter where I go, I'm just an old woman all alone."

"Perfect timing! I've been missing Qinglan and your two little girls. I'd be happy to spend time with them."

Upon hearing this, Aunt Li agreed without hesitation.

"Forget about wages, I'm just one person. As long as I'm fed, my family isn't hungry. As long as I have food to eat, that's enough."

Aunt Li was a straightforward person, and upon hearing this, she immediately agreed.

"Then why don't you pack your things and we'll leave now?"

The driver is still waiting outside; let's have him take us to the station so we can hurry back.

Sheng Xiping was a little anxious. He got off the bus around 10 a.m. and went straight to Chen Ruiqing's workplace. He chatted with Chen Ruiqing for a while, which took up some time. It was almost 12 o'clock by then.

There's a train heading back around 2 PM. If I miss it today, I'll have to wait until tomorrow afternoon, which is such a waste of time.

Upon hearing this, Aunt Li nodded hurriedly, "Okay, I'll get ready right away."

She was an old woman living alone and didn't have many valuables. All she needed were a few sets of clothes; the rest of the Sheng family had.

Aunt Li quickly packed her things and then went to find someone in the village with whom she got along well to entrust her house to them.

Ask the other party to come over when they have time, and help with things like starting a fire.

A jeep just drove into the village, and many people saw it and were quite curious.

At first, I thought they were there to see the village officials, but the car stopped in front of Aunt Li's house.

Upon inquiring, it turned out that they had come to pick up Aunt Li to work as her nanny.

Aunt Li returned from the provincial capital before the Lunar New Year, bringing back a lot of things and money. When the villagers found out, they were all quite envious.
