Chapter 383 Flower Sends Pig

The dogs didn't put in much effort today; they easily pinned down a pig, and on the way back, they were running around like crazy.

As people walked along the bottom of the ditch, thirteen dogs roamed freely across the hillsides on both sides of the ditch.

They had only walked three or four miles when suddenly, on the northern hillside, Erlang Shen sniffed and began to howl towards the east.

When Erlang Shen called out, the dogs on the southern hillside quickly converged on the north side.

Then, Erlang Shen led a pack of dogs and ran up the hillside.

"Oh my god, these dogs are having a blast again." Sheng Xiping slapped his forehead; he had forgotten to leash the dogs.

Erlang Shen's dog is extremely proud and has a lot of pride. If it doesn't bring back any prey while working on the mountain, it can be listless for days and won't even want to eat.

If things go too smoothly, and the dog unloads its goods as soon as it enters the mountain, it will feel unsatisfied and will insist on playing another round.

Today was just too smooth for Erlang Shen. He felt like he had too much energy to burn, so he led his dog all over the mountain.

I don't know what happened to them, but they managed to take all the dogs away again.

The main problem was that Sheng Xiping and his group were dragging pigs, and all ten-plus dogs were tied up and led, which was too much trouble. As a result, when they weren't paying attention, the dogs ran away again.

"It's alright, there's still plenty of time, let's go and take a look."

"Hey, second brother, you and Xi'an take the pig and head back first. Xiping and I will go chase the dog."

Liu Yujiang made a quick decision, grabbed his gun, and went with Sheng Xiping to chase the dog.

As for Liu Yuhe and Sheng Xi'an, they dragged the pig and continued walking back.

Erlang Shen led his dogs over mountains and ridges, disappearing in an instant.

The dog ran off happily ahead, while the person chased after it, panting and stumbling. It was incredibly difficult for two-legged creatures to catch up with four-legged ones.

The two brothers followed the path the dog had taken, climbing over hills and ridges, going down slopes, crossing ditches and ponds, and then running back up the mountain.

At that moment, the faint barking of dogs that had been coming from ahead suddenly stopped.

The two brothers panicked, fearing that the dog might suddenly stop moving.

So, despite how tired they were, the two of them ran as fast as they could to chase after him.

After they crossed another small ridge, a surprising scene unfolded before them.

All thirteen dogs are still alive and unharmed, but they all have their tails between their legs and look terrified.

Upon seeing their master approaching, Erlang Shen and the other dogs slunk back, whimpering pitifully at Sheng Xiping.

Sheng Xiping and Liu Yujiang exchanged a glance, their hearts filled with shock. What kind of formidable creature had they encountered? How could it frighten thirteen fierce hunting dogs like this?

Without saying a word, Sheng Xiping fired three shots into the air.

Gunshots echoed through the mountains, followed by a distant tiger's roar.

When Erlang Shen and his dogs heard the tiger's roar, they were so frightened that they tucked their tails between their legs again.

"There's a tiger," Liu Yujiang said, alarmed. "Is it your Huahua?"

Sheng Xiping shook his head, "I didn't see him. You can't tell just by listening to his voice."

Judging from the volume of the sound, the tiger was quite far away from them.

It's estimated that when Erlang Shen and his companions caught up, the tiger had just gone far away, leaving behind a strong aura, which is why the dogs were so frightened that they dared not go any further.

When they chased the dog over, they found tracks on the ground indicating a herd of pigs had walked by. It's highly likely that the tiger was hunting wild boars.

"Let's go and take a look ahead."

Liu Yujiang was both highly skilled and daring. Relying on his and Sheng Xiping's excellent marksmanship, he figured the tiger must have gone far away, so he suggested they go forward and take a look.

The two descended the hillside to the foot of the mountain, and walked a short distance further. Sure enough, the ground was covered with messy footprints.

Those were the tracks left by the pigs as they panicked and ran around in all directions; ahead, there were still bright red bloodstains on the snow.

Sheng Xiping and his companion went forward to take a look. The bloodstains hadn't frozen yet, indicating that a tiger had hunted a wild boar here not long ago and then left.

"Let's go, let's hurry home."

The pigs were scattered and wouldn't stop anytime soon. The strong scent of a tiger still lingered in the area, so the dogs probably wouldn't dare to pursue them anymore.

So Liu Yujiang sighed, slung his gun over his shoulder, and turned back with Sheng Xiping, leading the dog back home.

This time, the dogs all lost their spirits, and Erlang Shen even lowered his head and walked forward on his own.

"Oh dear, your temper is flaring up again, isn't it? Weren't you all smug and boastful just now?"

When Sheng Xiping saw Erlang Shen's reaction, he found it amusing. This dog was scared by the tiger and felt ashamed, so it started acting childish again.

So he hurriedly walked a few steps, caught up with Erlang Shen, and reached out to rub its head.

Erlang Shen seemed to feel a little better after receiving comfort from his master. He rubbed his head against Sheng Xiping's trouser leg, regained some of his spirits, and then turned and ran away.

"This dog is really intelligent; none of its puppies have inherited its temperament."

"It's a pity, the dog is getting old, I think it won't be able to climb the mountain much soon." Liu Yujiang said casually, watching Erlang Shen trot away.

Ordinary dogs can live for more than ten years, but hunting dogs go into the mountains all year round and are often injured. Generally speaking, their lifespan is not long; living for seven or eight years is considered good.

"Brother, don't say that in front of it. This dog has a big face. If you tell it it can't go up the mountain, it'll get angry with you."

Upon hearing this, Sheng Xiping laughed.

The two brothers chatted and laughed as they led their dog back. Just as they were about to enter the village, they caught up with Liu Yuhe and Sheng Xi'an.
