Chapter 383 Flower Sends Pig

Here, Liu Yuhe bandaged the dog's wounds and waited for the dog's owner. After that, he parted ways with Zhao Dayan and followed the footprints in the snow to catch up with Sheng Xiping and the others.

On the other side, Sheng Xiping and his brother, along with Liu Yujiang, followed behind Gouzi to chase after the troublemaking wild boar.

The wild boar couldn't run as fast as the dogs, so Erlang Shen led his pack of dogs and chased it for three miles before catching up with the troublemaking wild boar.

The pack of dogs swarmed forward and surrounded the pig.

These thirteen dogs are far superior to the four dogs Zhao Da Yanjing has.

Erlang Shen, the Black General, Da Qing, and Er Qing are a bit old, but they are large and experienced.

Leopard, Fat Tiger, Little Flower, and Little Gray all weigh around 110-120 pounds, and this is when they are at their strongest.

Although Zhaocai, Wangfu, Dalong, and Erhu are still young, they often go up the mountain and have been through many battles; none of them are easy to mess with.

Of this group, only Xiao Huang is slightly weaker in combat power.

When the wild boar saw such a large pack of dogs, it became intimidated before even engaging in battle and turned to run away.

Do you think these dogs will let the meat that's practically in their mouths get away?

Erlang Shen took the lead, grabbing the large lump in the pig's hindquarters. Black General and Fat Tiger bit the wild boar's ears, Erhu bit the pig's snout, Daqing and Erqing grabbed the area below the pig's forearm, and Zhaocai and Wangfu bit the pig's hip bone.

Seeing no opening, the leopard simply started biting the buttocks. The remaining dogs did the same, biting wherever they could get their hands on.

In just one encounter, the wild boar, which had been so arrogant and had taken on several dogs, was pinned to the snow by the pack of dogs and couldn't move.

The pig struggled desperately, but it only weighed about 300 pounds and was no match for the thirteen dogs. The dogs held onto the pig tightly, and none of them would let go.

When Sheng Xiping and his brother, along with Liu Yujiang, arrived, they found that the wild boar was already exhausted, and the dogs were biting the boar while constantly growling in protest.

Upon seeing this, Sheng Xiping immediately fixed his Type 56 semi-automatic dagger, approached the boar, and stabbed it to death with a single blow.

The wild boar let out two miserable cries, and as a large amount of blood gushed out, its body twitched a few times before it stopped struggling.

But the dogs didn't let go immediately. They continued to pounce on the wild boar hill and tear at it for a while before stopping.

Sheng Xiping chased the dogs away, then came forward, gutted the wild boar, and fed its offal to the dogs.

Thirteen dogs—that little bit of pig offal wasn't enough for them to eat. They were only half full before they were done.

So they all licked their lips and circled around their master, wanting some more meat to eat.

Upon seeing this, Sheng Xiping cut off some more meat from the pig to feed the dog.

When hunting in the mountains, it's normal to encounter any kind of prey. Dogs aren't human, after all. They won't specifically target sows or piglets. They'll just pick whatever they see at first glance and relentlessly pursue it.

A three-hundred-pound piglet isn't too big; the meat isn't as good as that of a sow or a yellow-haired pig, but it's still acceptable.

If it's any bigger, the meat will be gamey and tough, and it really won't taste good.

"They're all doing great, getting more and more successful." Sheng Xiping said while feeding the dogs, stroking the heads of Erlang Shen and the leopard.

A pig weighs about 300 jin (150 catties). After removing the offal and feeding some meat to the dogs, about 200 jin (100 kg) is left.

There was no need for a sled for this weight. Liu Yujiang found a rope, tied the pig up, and then they could pull it back by holding the rope.

After Sheng Xiping finished feeding the dog, the three of them dragged the pig back home, where they met Liu Yuhe on the way.

Liu Yuhe then told him about his encounter with Zhao Da Yanjing.

"This unlucky thing, it felt unwell when it went out this morning, and then it went into the mountains. Now look what happened, even the dog got hurt."

His dog's stomach was ripped open by a wild boar, and a section of its intestines came out. He didn't know if the dog would survive.

Upon hearing this, the other three shook their heads and sighed; this was the fate of the hunting dog.

You never know what formidable prey you might encounter one day, and you'll perish on the mountain.

"Hey? Second Brother, Zhao Big Eyes didn't say where he came from? Did his dog run into a lone pig, or a bunch of pigs?"

Sheng Xiping suddenly remembered this matter and asked about it casually.

"Oh, he said he entered the mountains from this side, and encountered the wild boar herd in the oak forest about ten miles west of the old ginseng field."

According to him, it seems the pigs were scattered by the dogs and ran off in a northeast direction.

Liu Yuhe recalled his conversation with Zhao Da Yanjing, turned to look at the mountains and forests behind him, and roughly pointed in the direction.

The group of people had all grown up in this forest and were very familiar with the surroundings. As soon as Liu Yuhe mentioned it, Sheng Xiping could roughly figure out where the escaped pigs could be fed that afternoon.

Sheng Xiping considered it in his mind and felt that the journey was too far, and it would be too costly to go there today by taking a long detour.

"Let's go back first. Anyway, we caught a pig today. If it's not enough, I'll bring the dog back tomorrow."

Tomorrow morning, after leaving the forest farm, head straight east; that will be much closer.

Liu Yujiang raised his hand to check his watch. They entered the mountain around eight o'clock. Today had gone relatively smoothly, and they had caught a pig quite quickly. It was only a little past eleven o'clock now.

"Alright, let's go back today. Tomorrow morning, we'll take the dog and head straight to the east end to ambush those pigs."

Using only one pig for a banquet is a bit too little.

“Okay.” The others nodded in agreement, and then, pulling the pig along, they slowly walked back.

On the way here, we took a long detour over mountains and valleys to chase wild boars, so we certainly can't waste that effort on the way back.

So the group dragged the pig along the old path that used to be the winter road at the bottom of the ditch, which saved them a lot of effort.
