Sister Liu walked out of the family compound carrying a large bag and headed towards the bus stop. The north wind and snow blew into her neck, and her tears froze like frost.
Her foot slipped and she fell down. Sister Liu struggled for several times but couldn't get up. All the grievances came to her heart and she lay on the ground crying loudly. She didn't feel it was harder than her husband's death.
A few people who had just gotten off the bus saw this and quickly came over to help Sister Liu up.
"Isn't this Xiao Liu? Where are you going so late at night?" The speaker was an old man who lived upstairs from Cao Jun's house. You could always meet him when you went out to buy groceries or something.
Sister Liu wiped her tears and said, "Thank you. I have to catch the bus, so I'll leave first."
After brushing off the snow on her body, Sister Liu walked towards the bus station without saying anything.
"It's late at night and so cold. Where are you going with a large bag on your back?" the person who was helping asked curiously.
"It's so pitiful to hear that crying"
"No one would say so. He must have suffered some great injustice. Sir, do you know him?"
Several people looked at the old man.
The old man nodded and said, "My house is downstairs."
"Home is here, where are we going? Will our son kick us out?" everyone speculated.
The old man walked home with his hands behind his back. He passed by Cao Jun's house and took a look.
"Dad, you're here. Why did you come so early today? I said I would come out to greet you in a while." The son stepped forward and took the cotton hat from the old man. The old man met with his old friends once a week.
"What's going on with the Cao family?" the old man took off his cotton jacket and asked his son, who was the leader of Cao's army.
"I don't know, what's the matter?" asked the son puzzledly.
"I just came here and saw Xiao Cao's mother lying on the ground crying with a big bag on her back. She was crying so miserably. I helped her up and she went to the bus stop." The old man sat on the sofa and the old lady brought him a cup of hot water.
"Xiao Liu, Xiao Cao's mother, is a very nice person. She is always busy running around. Why didn't you ask clearly?" the old lady asked the old man.
"If they don't tell me, why should I ask? I'm not your old woman. You can ask Xiao Cao tomorrow. It's not easy for the elderly to take care of the family all day long." The old man told his son that he also had to help coordinate the conflicts at work and at home.
"I understand," replied the old man's son.
The next morning, the old man and the old woman went downstairs to buy breakfast and heard several neighbors talking downstairs.
"You said that couple Cao, they look like decent people, but they want to force the old lady to live on the balcony. The balcony will be sunburned in the summer and frozen in the winter. It is not a place for people to live," said Cao Jun's next-door neighbor with disdain.
"I heard a commotion at their house last night. The couple took away all of Xiao Liu's money. Xiao Liu asked them for it back, but they refused." The neighbor who was speaking lived several houses away from Xiao Cao's house. When she heard the noise, she peeped through the crack in the door. No one could hear everything as well as she did.
"Really? That's really not a good thing."
"What Xiao Liu said in the room yesterday made me cry when I listened through the crack in the door. Don't give your heart to the child. It's useless." The person who spoke sounded sad.
Others who were listening to the excitement were anxious and said, "What are you talking about? Tell us quickly."
The man gave a brief account of what Sister Liu had said last night.
"What a fucking inhuman! I think those two idiots in my family must think the same of me!"
"Oh my god, my heart is so blocked when I hear this"
