Chapter 915 Feigned Innocence (2/2)

"Brother, our relationship has cooled down. I've only been here a few days and you're already annoyed with me. I'd like to stay here permanently. This apartment is very comfortable." The more the old man ignored him, the closer Old Man Guan got to him.

"That's enough for you. Although that mother and son had bad intentions, they've served you all these years. Know when to quit while you're ahead. Xiaoyu is back now, so take good care of yourself and stop causing trouble," the old lady couldn't help but advise.

The old man said, "You're getting too cocky. What if someone really kills you and you never even see your great-grandson again?"

Old Man Guan sighed, "They take very good care of me. I'm quite reluctant to part with my adopted son, but my area is going to be redeveloped."

“You’ll get a lot of money from the demolition of your big courtyard; that’s enough to start a business,” the old man said slowly.

Old Man Guan chuckled, "I figured I'd had enough. It's such a pity about these filial sons and grandsons. Otherwise, with my physique, I could have tormented them for a few more years. They got off too easily. But it just so happens that my granddaughter is back. I think this house next door is nice; I'll buy it when the redevelopment takes place."

“My granddaughter bought the building next door. There aren’t any whole buildings for sale in this complex anymore. Don’t come near me. Go buy a villa and live there. That’s much more comfortable.” The old man himself was all slumped over. Old Ge was limp, Old Zhang was gone, and Old Guan was as energetic as a donkey, getting more and more lively. He didn’t like to look at him.

Old Man Guan said, "If I can't buy a whole building, I'll buy one floor, okay? I'll live close to you and eat here every day. Let's see when you die."

"Get lost, you bastard, stay far away from me!"

Old Man Guan chuckled, "I won't, I won't!"

The old lady was speechless. The two of them were almost two hundred years old combined, yet they acted like children.

Xiaoyu and Guanbo strolled hand in hand down the street.

"Did I do well today?" Guan Bo asked expectantly.

Xiaoyu didn't answer, but instead asked, "What do you think of my family?"

Guan Bo thought for a moment before speaking, "Your adoptive family are all very nice and down-to-earth. They think I'm a good match for you and are very polite to me. As for your grandfather, well, he seems very kind, but he's definitely not an ordinary person."

Xiaoyu raised an eyebrow. She understood her parents' assessment of her family; they were indeed very down-to-earth people. "Why do you say that? My grandfather is just an ordinary old man too."

Guan Bo: "I just have a feeling that he's dangerous. If I don't treat you well, he can transform immediately."

Xiaoyu… “Do you think my grandpa is Ultraman, transforming?”

"That's just how I feel. It might not be accurate, but I'll definitely treat you well. Even if it's really dangerous, I'm not afraid." Guan Bo tightened his grip on Xiao Yu's hand.

"You're just being paranoid. My grandfather is such a kind old man, how could you think he's dangerous?" Xiaoyu wouldn't admit it. She was more than just dangerous; she dared not let anyone know her exploits, afraid that this kid would run away in terror.

Old Guan stayed for two more days before returning home.

The old lady and her stepson were getting a little anxious. This old man was practically a walking money tree; they had served him for so many years, and they were about to see the end of his life. They couldn't afford any unforeseen events to happen to him.

When Old Man Guan left, he said he was going to see an old friend and would be staying for a few days. He even turned off his phone, which worried the two of them. They were about to call the police if he didn't come back soon.

"Dad, where have you been? Why is your phone off?" Changshun went out to welcome the old man into the house. He had started calling him "Dad" a few years ago.

"I forgot my charger when I left, and my phone was dead. I went to see an old friend. He lives in an apartment building with underfloor heating, and it was so warm that I didn't want to come back." Old Guan felt a chill when he entered the house and felt uncomfortable all over.

“Dad, your place will be relocated next year too. With your big courtyard, you’ll get at least several apartments. You can live in an apartment building next winter,” Changshun said with a smile.

“Yes, next year we’ll live in our own apartment building. Your whole family will move in then, and we’ll live together,” Old Man Guan said with a smile.
