"What kind of mother are you? Everyone hopes their son will be well, but you hope your son will get divorced. What, I'll get divorced and give you a place so your son can take care of you in your old age?"
"I'm willing to divorce you, but is your son willing to part with it? Is he willing to part with my family's assets? Let me tell you, if you take good care of my father, get married, and have the property notarized in my name, you'll have no problem taking care of him in his old age. If my father is paralyzed and still doesn't want to get married, do you still expect us to take care of you in your old age?" Liang Lijun threatened.
"You think you can use retirement to control me? Dream on! If I can't, I can take care of you with a bag of rat poison. You won't get your hands on me. As for your crippled father, you can send him wherever you want. Don't even think about messing with me. You know your dad so well, why don't you have him be your car? He'll give you everything without me being the third party." Sister Liu was furious and started hurling all sorts of insults.
"You old hag, I'll beat you to death!" Liang Lijun reached out to slap Sister Liu.
Sister Liu stood up from the kang (a heated brick bed) and rushed towards Liang Lijun. She thrust the needle into Liang Lijun's face, startling her. Liang Lijun quickly dodged, and Sister Liu seized the opportunity to grab Liang Lijun's hair and pull hard.
Liang Lijun screamed in pain, "You old bastard, let go of me!"
"Putting a tent on the outhouse, what kind of airs are you putting on? My crippled father makes me serve him for free, and you act like I'm taking advantage of your family. Keep that advantage for yourself, you worthless piece of trash!" Sister Liu cursed as she worked hard, occasionally pricking Liang Lijun with the needle in her hand.
Liang Lijun screamed in pain, "You wait, the day you fall into my hands, I'll prick you with needles every day."
"Stab me? I'll stab you first!" Sister Liu said, poking around with a small needle.
"Help! Help! Murder!" Liang Lijun screamed.
A neighbor in the courtyard peered into the house through the window. "Sister Liu, what's wrong?"
"My daughter-in-law, that damned thing, made me marry her paralyzed father so I could get a large share of her family's property, instead of letting her brother take it all," Sister Liu said loudly as she worked.
Neighbors... what a strange girl! They've heard of girls risking their lives to support their parents' families, but they've never heard of a woman scheming against her mother-in-law after marriage.
"Bullshit, you're talking nonsense! You're the one who fell for my dad. If my dad weren't paralyzed, would he have fallen for you?" Liang Lijun struggled and cursed.
"What's so great about being chosen by a paralyzed man? If it's so good, why don't you find a paralyzed man for your dad? It would be so much better if you could take care of two paralyzed men together," the neighbors couldn't help but say.
"My God, how can there be such a shameless person? What sins did our family commit to give birth to such a beast?" The neighbors felt chilled. The child they had raised with such care was now scheming against them all day long. Just thinking about it sent shivers down their spines.
Liang Lijun knew she couldn't argue with these ordinary citizens. "Let go! You're stabbing me! I'm calling the police!"
"Go ahead and report it. Let the police notify your brother and let him know how you schemed against him," Sister Liu said, not afraid at all.
Liang Lijun… “Are you crazy? The ones who will benefit are your son and grandson. You can’t afford it yourself, so I’m taking it from home, and you’re stopping me. Do you have a grudge against your son? Is he even your biological son?”
“You took it from home? You made your mother sell herself to deceive your father. It’s your ability to ask your father for it yourself. Don’t try to scheme against me! You found me a paralyzed woman to serve for free, and you expect me to be grateful and threaten me with retirement? If I can’t take it anymore, I’ll drink pesticide and I won’t come to your house.”
Liang Lijun struggled to break free from Sister Liu, losing several clumps of hair and getting countless puncture wounds all over her body.
"Okay, you said it, remember it!" Liang Lijun turned and left, but was spat on as soon as she stepped outside. "Pah, you have a son yourself, be careful you don't get your comeuppance." The neighbor spat on Liang Lijun.
