Liang Lijun screamed and reached out to slap the spitting old woman.
The woman, weighing around 150 or 160 pounds, was incredibly burly. She grabbed Liang Lijun's arm, tucked it under her armpit, and started scratching her vigorously.
The neighbors who were watching the commotion also joined in, stabbing and pinching wherever it hurt, from the inner thighs to the lower back.
Liang Lijun screamed in pain, writhing like a pig during the Lunar New Year, with countless hands pinching her all over her body, leaving painful marks on the ground.
They only let her go after the group of middle-aged women had pinched her enough.
Liang Lijun sat on the ground, her hair disheveled, tears and snot streaming down her face. "You just wait!"
"Pah! This is our home, we'll wait here!" Several middle-aged women were not afraid of her.
Liang Lijun got up, glared fiercely at Sister Liu who was standing in the room watching the commotion, and then turned and ran away.
"Sister Liu, you have to teach that little slut a lesson. You've spoiled her rotten. Next time she comes, we'll help you out." The neighbors all got along well with Sister Liu.
Sister Liu sniffed and said, "No need, I'm moving out. I won't live here anymore." She was just about to say goodbye to her neighbors, so now was the perfect time to do so.
"Move away? Where to? Don't you only have one son?" The neighbors wondered. After such a falling out with his daughter-in-law, he certainly couldn't go to his son's house.
Sister Liu smoothed her hair and smiled, "I've found a partner, and I'll be moving out in a few days."
The neighbors asked nervously, "You're not really going to marry into your in-laws' family, are you? Don't be afraid of your daughter-in-law. If your son dares not to support you in your old age, just sue him. There's no law anymore!"
Everyone felt sorry for Sister Liu, who was forced by her son to marry her paralyzed in-law.
Sister Liu shook her head. "No, I found him myself. He's an old neighbor I know very well."
The neighbors breathed a sigh of relief and laughed. "That's great! The old neighbors already understand each other, so there's no need for adjustment. How are the children over there?"
"She's my only daughter. I've watched her grow up since she was little, and she even said she'd take care of me in my old age," Sister Liu said, her joy barely concealed.
"Oh my god, that's wonderful! Sister Liu, I'm not trying to be mean, but your son only visits a handful of times a year, and your daughter-in-law is even less reliable. We've never even met her before. You can't count on her at all. It's really great that your parents are willing to take care of you in your old age!" We all live in the same compound, so everyone knows what's going on in each other's homes.
"Congratulations, Sister Liu! Bring your husband back for a visit sometime."
"As you get older, you still need companionship; you need someone by your side when you have a headache or fever."
"Luckily you found the right person, otherwise your son would have sent his father-in-law over here!"
“他惦记老丈人家产,让老娘嫁瘫巴老丈人,真不是人揍”
"Who says otherwise? Luckily, my eldest sister found a companion. That paralyzed man would have killed her, and she would have worn herself out too. That son of hers is no good."
The neighbors got along well and were all happy for Sister Liu, while at the same time they were furious with such a beastly son.
Sister Liu smiled and said, "Yes, if it weren't for Old Man Guan, would she have run away or resigned herself to her fate this time?"
After seeing her neighbor off, Sister Liu looked in the mirror. Her daughter-in-law was right about one thing: she should dress up nicely, after all, it was her wedding.
