Sister Liu took the money and went out shopping.
As soon as Liang Lijun left the courtyard, she called Cao Jun and said, "Cao Jun, I made your mother fight with her neighbor. If you don't give me an explanation today, I'm divorcing you!"
Cao Jun rubbed his forehead. "I told you not to go, but you insisted. Did you go looking for trouble?"
“It was your mother who cursed me, cursed me… I can’t even bring myself to say it. Your mother has to apologize to me today, or this won’t end.” Liang Lijun was in pain all over, and there was phlegm on her clothes. She had never suffered such an injustice in her life.
"Where did you get hit? Let's come to the hospital to get checked out first," Cao Jun reassured him.
Liang Lijun: "Cao Jun, don't try to fool me. If your mother doesn't apologize to me today, we're done."
Cao Jun sighed, "Stop saying those angry words. Take a deep breath, calm down, and let's get to the hospital first."
Liang Lijun took a few deep breaths, hung up the phone, and took a taxi to the hospital.
Cao Jun was smoking and pacing back and forth outside the hospital, waiting for Liang Lijun. Mother-in-law and daughter-in-law are natural enemies, especially since his mother and wife have such deep-seated prejudices. He shouldn't have let his wife go. He should have sent his father-in-law directly after he was discharged from the hospital, and then discussed other matters later.
When Cao Jun saw Liang Lijun get out of the car, her hair was a mess, her face was scratched like potato shreds, and there were several bruises. She looked miserable. His heart skipped a beat. No wonder his wife was so angry. What did she say? Why did she hit him?
"Wife!" Cao Jun stepped forward and hugged Liang Lijun.
Liang Lijun leaned against Cao Jun and sobbed, "That old hag of yours pricked me with needles, it hurt so much! And those neighbors pinched me, it hurt so much!"
"Come on, let's go inside and take a look. Check the injuries first. I'll go find my mom later and make her apologize to you. How could she hit you so hard?" Cao Jun said angrily.
Liang Lijun felt a little better. The man was on her side. "She has to apologize to me and promise to take good care of my father, otherwise I won't forgive her."
"Okay, okay, I'll go talk to her in a bit. Now let's go see the injured person," Cao Jun reassured Liang Lijun.
Cao Jun carefully asked Liang Lijun what she had said.
Upon hearing that Sister Liu was to use her father-in-law as her car, Cao Jun's face twitched uncontrollably several times. Could this really be said to his face? They were both experienced people. Once his father-in-law made this request, it would be too late. How could his mother not grant it?
How could his mother not be anxious if he said such things to her mother-in-law, who had been widowed for many years?
“Cao Jun, I didn’t say anything wrong. Who am I doing this for? Isn’t it for our family? I’m just worried that she’s too old-fashioned and won’t please my dad. But would my dad be willing to register the marriage with her? Would he give us all the family property?” Liang Lijun felt extremely wronged.
Cao Jun: "I know, you're doing this for the family's good. My mother has probably been a widow for many years and can't accept these kinds of words. I'll go over and talk to her in a bit."
"Forget the apology, let your mother come and take care of my father today. You can rest too, and they can get to know each other better." Liang Lijun knew Cao Jun was just being perfunctory. She knew her mother-in-law well; she was strong-willed her whole life and would never apologize to her. Her father was still in the hospital, so she could just bear the injustice and not cause any more trouble.
Cao Jun... His mother isn't made of clay, she has a temper. How could she possibly come today? She probably doesn't even want to take care of her father-in-law anymore. He has to go over and give her some advice, but he can't say anything that might affect their relationship.
"Go check on your injury first, we'll talk about the rest later."
Liang Lijun treated the wound simply. Because she was wearing many layers of clothing, the needle prick wasn't deep, and it had already healed and was no longer noticeable. Cao Jun suspected that his wife was exaggerating.
After examining the injuries, Liang Lijun urged Cao Jun to go home quickly. She was worried that her mother-in-law would abandon her father, leaving them in a bind.
Cao Jun returned home, but no one was home and the door was locked. He tried calling Sister Liu, but couldn't get through. He looked towards his neighbor's house, and the neighbor lady saw him and slammed the door shut.
