Chapter 1038 Changing Houses (2/2)

Dong Yun shook her head: "That won't work. The court will have to notify her anyway. It's better to tell her directly now. If she puts on a defensive and says she doesn't want it, then let her write an agreement, have it notarized, and then it won't be her problem if she wants it later."

"If Auntie wants to be a good person, she has to give up her property. If she doesn't give up her property, Uncle will have to turn against her. Haha, Mom, you're amazing!" Xiaoyuer gave Dong Yun a thumbs up.

Dong Yun was somewhat smug; her younger siblings were too inexperienced to try and outsmart her.

"Mom, it would be so much better if you put this thought into my grandparents," Xiaoyuer said, looking at Dong Yun with a troubled expression. The two of them wouldn't be in such a sorry state now.

Dong Yun's face looked a little unnatural. "Your grandparents are alright, but your second and third uncles are full of bad intentions. As soon as I went there, they ganged up on me and made me lose face in front of your grandparents. Your father, that good-for-nothing, doesn't help me either, and he always expects me to stand up for him."

There are several factors contributing to her strained relationship with the Li family: her own eagerness for quick success, Li Xingguo's unpopularity, the machinations of her second and third sons, and the selfishness and meanness of her in-laws...

Xiaoyu sighed, wondering when she would be able to return to the Li family. She was sure her father would come to see her after he was discharged from the hospital. She hoped her uncle's house would be demolished soon...

Two days later, Dong Yun called Dong Lan to the rented house.

Dong Wei didn't tell anyone about moving, not even Dong Lan.

"Big sister, did you need something? Let's talk on the phone, I'm pretty busy." Dong Lan's expression was unpleasant, and she didn't want to talk to this older sister.

“If we could explain it over the phone, I wouldn’t have called you. I won’t beat around the bush. The house my brother is living in now was left by our dad. I have a share in it. Do you want your share?” Dong Yun didn’t care about his sister’s expression and said directly.

"I don't want it. Dad said he'd give the house to my younger brother when he left. It's his house. We're married-out daughters, how can we covet our parents' property?" Dong Lan turned her face away in disgust, not wanting to look at Dong Yun.

Dong Yun: "Okay, you're so noble. You're such a good sister. If you don't want your family's property, just write a property relinquishment agreement and have it notarized. My brother and I will fight for this property in court. No matter what the outcome, it has nothing to do with you."

Dong Lan: "Big sister, are you really going to sue? That's my younger brother's house, you can't do that!"

“You don’t need to worry about me. I know what I’m doing. I’m so old and I have nothing. This house is the last resort for me and my child. Without this house, I might have to beg for food when I’m old.”

You siblings have a deep bond; you have the right to refuse, or to give your share to your younger brother—that's your prerogative. However, you must have it notarized; you can't hide behind me and wait to reap the benefits.

Dong Yun was very clear-headed. If Li Xingguo hadn't lost everything in the stock market, she wouldn't have wanted her younger brother's house. She was now desperate.

Dong Lan said, "What advantage am I getting? I never even asked for my younger brother's house."

“Okay, I’ll find a lawyer later to draft an agreement, and you can just give up,” Dong Yun said calmly.

“If you succeed, my share will go to my younger brother.” Dong Lan said without hesitation.

Dong Yun raised an eyebrow. "Think it through. If it's really going to be relocated, it could cost millions."

“I will only take what I am entitled to. The Forbidden City is valuable, but it does not belong to me. There is more to this world than just money. There is also family affection. Sister, think about it. When you were going through the most difficult time, did we help you because of money?” Dong Lan wanted to persuade Dong Yun.
