Sun Ping was at a loss for words. Seeing Zhou Lingyu and the other two standing beside her, she thought they might say something on her behalf.
Before he could even speak, Zhou Lingyu, who had been standing calmly to the side, turned and left.
Seeing that Zhen Zhen and Liu Xiaohan, who were following behind, were walking back, Sun Ping quickly spoke up, "Then, what about them? Why do I have to pay separately while the others don't? How can you bully people like this!"
Now everyone has left, and she's the only one left standing here, ignored by everyone.
Sun Ping was filled with anger; they were all bad people who only knew how to bully her.
With nowhere to vent his hatred, he could only glare fiercely at the departing figure.
Seeing the tents on either side of the door and the mottled ground out of the corner of her eye, she hesitated again.
Carrying his two large bags, he struggled to keep up with the group.
I grew increasingly angry. How could they throw things out like that? I couldn't even lift them myself. It was so unfair.
"Captain, don't pick up people next time. What kind of trash are they?" Shao Jie was furious. He did a good deed and still got scolded. How could this be?
Everyone else looked equally frustrated; it seemed that was indeed the caseāit's hard to be a good person.
Sun Cheng and Qi Xun, standing to the side, were utterly embarrassed and felt ashamed. "No, it's not like that, okay? That's a disease, we're not like that."
Seeing Sun Cheng on the verge of tears, everyone burst into laughter. It seemed they had really scared him.
"I wasn't talking about you guys, I was just saying we probably won't do such a foolish thing again in the future," Yu Yanbin said with a smile, though the smile didn't reach his eyes.
Neither Sun Cheng nor Qi Xun spoke, understanding that things had escalated to this point, and it was indeed unpleasant. Who knew if they would encounter such oddballs again in the future? It was best if no one interfered.
It can only be said that one person changed their mind.
This taught them a lesson: they should mind their own business.
Each person can enter the base and live there if they need 20 kilograms of grain or equivalent supplies.
Those outside the wall are those who can't afford to pay for supplies and can't enter the base. They can only live in makeshift shacks outside. They don't want to go far, and they feel safer and more secure near the base.
There are apartment buildings not far from here, but they are unwilling to leave, and so it has become like this.
"Is it that difficult now?" Li Xiao asked Cheng Shaolin in a low voice.
Cheng Shaolin thought for a moment, "Maybe we just can't find it. Even if we get in, we'll still need supplies, and without supplies, we won't have a place to stay. It's not like we're safe once we're inside; we'll still need supplies."
Li Xiao understood; it wasn't just about spending the supplies; there were other things to spend as well.
"Brother, what about us?" Li Xiao asked, looking up.
"Hmm? What's wrong?"
Li Xiao knew it wasn't a good idea to ask that question, so she didn't continue the conversation.
"Why did you stop talking?" Cheng Shaolin asked, curious about what was wrong with the girl when she stopped talking again.
"Nothing, I just wanted to ask about our plans for the future."
"Let's go in and check the situation first," Cheng Shaolin said, without giving a specific explanation, and looked at Yu Yanbin, who was communicating with the soldiers guarding the gate.
Yu Yanbin was negotiating, and seeing that Tang Yi was with him, he assumed that Tang Yi had just joined the team.
They were familiar with Tang Yi's group coming and going, but the next few were all unfamiliar faces, so they needed to take a closer look.
After counting the number of people and reporting the corresponding amount of food, they waited for Yu Yanbin and his group to hand over the supplies and enter the base.
Yu Yanbin understood that this was standard procedure, so he didn't say much and simply called Xiao Peng to bring up the prepared supplies.
Not taking out that much grain would not only arouse envy, but also leave us with food to eat.
They brought dried vegetables, potatoes, instant noodles, etc. Didn't we say that anything of equal value was acceptable? So, anything is fine.
Once the numbers are tallied and match, they'll be let in.
Following the signs, we arrived at a row of small houses. Once inside, we knew that this was the inspection area.
Separated by men and women, Li Xiaotian and the others went to the next room, where a woman in military uniform was waiting.
There's nothing to be ashamed of now; take off your clothes and check for injuries.
Fortunately, my previous plan was correct. I only came out after my injuries had healed. It's really hard to explain why I had injuries on my body.
When Tian Tian finally emerged from behind the curtain, her face was still flushed, and Li Xiao and Qiu Fengyu both laughed.
Tian Tian laughed shyly; it was the first time she'd ever done something like this, and she felt incredibly embarrassed.
There were no problems. The person conducting the inspection told them to leave because other people were coming in and they couldn't take up space.
When the three of them came out of the house, they saw Yu Yanbin, Cheng Shaolin and a few others standing outside, while Shao Jie was still standing behind them.
Seeing them come out, Cheng Shaolin quickly asked, "Xiaoxiao, are you alright?"
Li Xiao smiled and said, "It's nothing."
Cheng Shaolin nodded, and then he saw Shao Jie come out, followed by Sun Cheng and Qi Xun.
They all seem fine, so they need to find a place to stay. Tang Yi and the others had already pointed out the location for gathering information when they left, so they can go there directly now.
Actually, it's not far away. It's right in front of this road, and there's a big sign that you can see from far away.
A large group of people arrived at the place, which had the words "Information Institute" written on it.
Yu Yanbin, Cheng Shaolin, and Shao Jie went inside to check the situation, while the rest of the people waited outside.
Li Xiao looked around.
The place where you are standing now is the sales office of the residential complex, which has been renamed. Surrounding it are residential buildings, dozens of stories high, scattered around.
