Just as I was wondering which way to go, two people got out of a van in front of the building, a man and a woman. The man was quite burly and looked fierce, while the woman was very pretty and wearing a dress.
Turn the corner ahead and you'll reach the residential area; find a room to stay the night. Before I'd taken two steps, several people followed me out—the same four people from upstairs.
The two people who got out of the car quickly stepped forward, and the man took the bags from their backs, opened the car door, and put them inside.
The woman walked over to the man with the buzz cut, whispered something in his ear, and kept glancing in the direction Li Xiao had left.
As the burly man approached, they exchanged a few more words. At that moment, Ming called out to Li Xiao, "Beautiful lady, don't walk like that. What do you think of our suggestion? Look, our team has plenty of supplies. If you join us, you won't have to worry about food." He tilted his head slightly, making the sincere suggestion.
Li Xiao stopped and turned to look at the group of people. It seemed they didn't want her to leave.
The woman in the dress then said with a smile, "Little sister, don't go~" Her voice was soft and sweet with a lilting tone, and it sounded somewhat familiar.
"No need, I have companions." It was still a firm refusal.
"When did you get a companion? How come I didn't know? Don't try to fool me~" she said, giggling sweetly.
Li Xiao's expression immediately changed, her face becoming serious. Why did that voice sound so familiar? Now she remembered—it was the couple who had knocked on her door that night and hadn't answered. Why were they stopping her after just a few words when they were trying to let her leave? Turns out, they knew someone there.
"What, can't I leave now?" Li Xiao chuckled, tilting her head as she looked at them.
