Chapter 24 Cooperation

They chatted all the way as they slowly made their way north.

The roads are not safe either; traffic jams are common, and zombies are a minor issue.

When your car is blocked and zombies surround you, you should get out and clear them out.

The traffic ahead is completely jammed, and it won't be cleared anytime soon. The team leader and the others got out of the car to buy Uncle Li some time.

Li Xiao also came down; she couldn't just stand by and do nothing while others were busy.

She walked forward, carrying her curved sword. The captain and his men had already started, and she joined them.

She swung her curved blade at the menacing zombie. She wielded the blade with incredible skill and agility.

Those nearby glanced over but hadn't noticed that there was a knife inside the large bag on her back.

Wow! This young lady is pretty good; she's not intimidated at all.

He chopped left and right with remarkable speed and efficiency, without any hesitation.

That's when I realized she really meant it when she said it could kill zombies. It's not just "can," it's "very good."

With everyone working together, the number of zombies surrounding them gradually decreased.

Uncle Li was also working hard to clear the road to make it easier for people to pass. In less than half an hour, he had cleared several hundred meters of road.

We need to hurry, it's almost evening now, we can't afford to get stuck in traffic, that would be extremely dangerous.

The team leader told Li Xiao to get in the car, and Zheng Yongnian got in their car. The two of them went to drive. The team leader stayed behind, while Meng Yang and Uncle Li cleared the road ahead, which would be faster.

The sun was still scorching hot, and the traffic jam on this stretch of road was indeed quite long. We could see towns in the distance.

With their destination just ahead, their enthusiasm only grew stronger. Uncle Li's superpower had reached its limit; his face was pale, his body was drenched in sweat, and he was panting heavily.

The closer we got to the town, the worse the traffic became. I wanted him to take a break, but he insisted, saying there was only a little bit left and it was fine.

She and Zheng Yongnian exchanged a glance, both feeling helpless.

At this moment, Meng Yang walked over and used his supernatural ability to help lift the vehicle. He used his ability to tie the car up and flip it off the road, and the road was quickly cleared.

He used to help clear the road while killing zombies, and that's how his physical strength was depleted very quickly.

I was worried that he hadn't rested well, but to my surprise, he only rested for a short while before coming down to help.

With each other's help, the road, which was several hundred meters long, was gradually cleared up.

Li Xiao climbed into the car, stepped on the gas, and followed the car in front.

There's a small town on the right side of the road ahead. We followed the path into the town.

The town was very quiet; there wasn't a sound.

Everyone drove cautiously along the main road in the middle of the town. The town was small, surrounded by farmland, which was overgrown with weeds.

Whether it was rice or grass, it was over a meter tall and very lush.

The town is almost surrounded by greenery; all you can see are bright green leaves.

This is a small village. A winding road runs through the entire town, with buildings of varying heights arranged in a pleasing, staggered pattern on both sides. Large flat areas are left in front of the houses, some fenced off, others planted with flowers or fruit trees.

The road wasn't very wide, only allowing two cars to pass side by side. The town was quiet; not even the roars of zombies could be heard. Li Xiao scanned the map but didn't find any living people in the town. It was strange; there weren't even any zombies.

She was extremely surprised; it was very strange that there were no zombies.

An anomaly indicates a problem. If there's absolutely no movement, that's very strange.

She can't say that she "saw" it, so how can she remind her?

Actually, everyone felt something was wrong, but they just didn't see it as clearly as she did.

The captain stopped the car, frowned, and turned to Uncle Li, asking, "Old Li, something's not right here. What do you think we should do?"

Uncle Li couldn't quite pinpoint what the problem was, but he felt something was off.

Everyone looked at the team leader and his group with unease. The people from Li Xiao's car also arrived and gathered around the vehicle, listening to what everyone was saying.

Everyone was whispering among themselves, unsure of what was going on.

Since the apocalypse, everything has changed. Seeing Meng Yang and the others gathered together discussing, Li Xiao hesitated for a moment before stepping forward. The group, who had been frowning, stopped talking and looked at her when they saw her approaching.

She looked at them, unsure of what to say. After a moment's hesitation, she opened her mouth.

Meng Yang noticed her predicament and laughed, "It's okay, we're just discussing the situation now, everyone can express their opinions, and it doesn't matter if you say something wrong."

She smiled shyly, a hint of embarrassment creeping onto her sallow face.

Everyone was very friendly to the girl who joined later, and they made their decision at first sight.

Sometimes, first impressions are very important; if you make a bad first impression, it will be very difficult to change it later.

Li Xiao's first impression was that she was quiet, shy, and didn't talk much or like to cause trouble. This very trait of not causing trouble made a very good impression.

If someone in the apocalypse is constantly confused about the situation when interacting with their companions and acts like a pampered princess, then they are very annoying.

This isn't a peaceful era anymore; throwing a little tantrum is harmless.

That won't do now. Sometimes even the smallest thing can change the situation and put someone in danger, which is extremely annoying.

There will always be some unreliable people everywhere. In a team, minor personality issues can be tolerated, after all, no one is perfect.

However, it's not good if they're the kind of people who are prone to causing trouble. If they keep causing trouble, it can be quite deadly in this perilous apocalypse.
