Chapter 69 Outside the Window

I had just closed my eyes when a rooster crowed...

Huh? Li Xiao opened her eyes. She's still here, but why has her voice changed?

Absolutely, their throats are probably hoarse.

If that chicken were here, it would definitely jump up and bite her to death.

Oh no, I mean peck her to death.

Chickens have a tough life.

It was followed by a group of monsters, all of whom wanted to eat it.

Chickens are supposed to crow at the appointed time; it's their instinct.

However, when the crowing time came, the zombies behind them became incredibly excited, as if they had been injected with chicken blood.

It had to suppress its instincts, but it really wanted to crow.

It can't even make a sound; now its voice is hoarse, it's suffering terribly. o(╥﹏╥)o

Li Xiao didn't care what the chicken thought, as long as it was effective.

It seems this trick works well; remember to use it again in the future.

The chicken vomited all over her face...

Li Xiao closed her eyes to recuperate, and after an unknown amount of time, there was movement below.

A lot of zombies are coming, and they're making a lot of noise.

Li Xiao got up and stood by the window to look outside. She saw a person running towards her from a distance, followed by a line of zombies chasing after him.

Li Xiao wondered, when did this person arrive? Why did he come all by himself?

She stood by the window, staring intently, until the person ran closer.

Li Xiao opened her eyes wide and looked at the people outside fighting the zombies, while the people outside the window were unaware that they were using their superpowers to kill the zombies.

The zombies fell one by one; this person's supernatural ability was quite powerful. In no time, only a few remained.

After the last zombie fell, the man seemed to have been watched for a long time and realized someone was watching him.

He slowly raised his head, and his eyes met those of Li Xiao standing by the window.

Li Xiao stared wide-eyed at the man outside without blinking.

As he stared at him, the man suddenly realized what was happening, and then quickly ran over and hurried upstairs.

He saw that Li Xiao was still staring at him blankly, just like before.

Cheng Shaolin ran over and saw that his chest was heaving, and he said with a stern face, "What are you doing running out here? Don't you know what's wrong and you can't tell me?"

Seeing that Li Xiao's eyes seemed a little red, she realized she had spoken too harshly and softened her tone, "How could you be so stupid? You were being bullied and didn't even tell me? If anyone should run away, it should be her, why did you run away?"

Seeing that Li Xiao didn't speak, he walked over and hugged her.

Li Xiao was still in shock, never expecting Cheng Shaolin to come looking for her.

Seeing him lose his temper made me feel terrible. Before I could even think of what to say, I was suddenly pulled into a hug...

Li Xiao's heart skipped a beat for a moment; her heart was pounding so hard she could almost hear it.

This is so embarrassing! ⊙﹏⊙

The unfamiliar scent and warmth of the man left her feeling lost and confused.

Cheng Shaolin noticed that Li Xiao hadn't said anything and thought she was angry. He quickly let go of her and looked at her face.

Li Xiao's face was flushed, and she lowered her eyes, not daring to look at him.

Cheng Shaolin held Li Xiao's hands and said in a soft voice, "Xiao Xiao, look at me."

Li Xiao pulled her hand away from his, took a step back, and put her hands behind her back.

Cheng Shaolin looked at Li Xiao and said, "Speak."

Li Xiao puffed out her cheeks and pursed her lips.

"What's wrong? Are you still angry because you ran away? Don't you know how dangerous it is?"

Li Xiao knew she was in the wrong, but she didn't know what to say.

How could this man just hug her like that? Honestly, it's so embarrassing.

You must not let him see through you no matter what you say.

Cheng Shaolin knew that Li Xiao had been wronged, so he didn't say much.

It's good that we can find the person and that they are safe and sound.

Cheng Shaolin patted Li Xiao's head, feeling relieved.

Li Xiao pushed Cheng Shaolin's hand away. Why does he always like to touch her head? She's not a child. How annoying! (ーー;)

Seeing Li Xiao throwing a little tantrum, Cheng Shaolin's anger subsided by half.

Li Xiao pouted and glared at Cheng Shaolin.

Cheng Shaolin saw Li Xiao's fur stand on end and wanted to pat her head again. What should he do? He knew she would get angry if he did, so he couldn't.

Cheng Shaolin rubbed his fingers together, deciding to give up.

"Why are they running this way? Hmm?"

Li Xiao stared wide-eyed, her eyes darting around, but she wouldn't look at him.

Cheng Shaolin couldn't help but laugh; how could someone be so adorable? (^.^)

"Don't want to talk about it? Or... can't you talk about it?" Cheng Shaolin looked down at her.

"What can't I say? I'm going this way, so what?" Li Xiao glared at Cheng Shaolin.

Cheng Shaolin simply smiled and nodded at her. "Of course you can, but don't run around anymore. It's dangerous everywhere now. What would I do if something happened? You understand?"

I can't lose my temper, so I can only try to persuade them gently.

Li Xiao found these words strange, but didn't want to say anything to him. "What do you mean, 'what can you do'? What could possibly happen to me?"

After saying that, she glared at Cheng Shaolin with a huff, but Cheng Shaolin just smiled and said, "I'll worry, you understand?"

Cheng Shaolin placed his hands on Li Xiao's arms and looked down intently into her eyes.

"You just ran away so suddenly, didn't you think about anything else? Don't you know how worried people will be? What if something happens?"

Li Xiao knew she was in the wrong, so she didn't argue, but just lowered her head and remained silent.

Cheng Shaolin continued, "Don't do that again next time. You can tell me anything. Try to trust me, okay? Even though you don't remember the past, it's okay. Let's get to know each other again, how about that?"

Li Xiao looked into his eyes, which shone brightly, like a flame that could melt everything.

Under that intense gaze, Li Xiao lowered her head shyly, refusing to look. This elicited another low chuckle from Cheng Shaolin.

Li Xiao's face flushed red, and she angrily snorted at Cheng Shaolin.

Honestly, this person is really annoying.

Cheng Shaolin chuckled hoarsely, "Alright, alright, I won't laugh anymore. Cough, just remember, I can always trust you, and I will never betray you. Time will prove everything, you can see."

Li Xiao looked up and saw Cheng Shaolin, whose gentle face revealed solemnity and expectation.

Li Xiao felt her face flush as she was stared at.

Under his intense gaze, she nodded shyly, then quickly turned her head away.

Cheng Shaolin found it amusing; the little girl was genuinely shy, which was quite adorable.

He patted her head again and said with heartache, "Don't worry me, I'm here. I won't let you suffer any injustice. Don't worry. I'll take care of everything."

A gentle voice rang softly in her ear, and for some reason, Li Xiao's eyes welled up with tears.

Damn it, what's wrong with me today? My eyes are malfunctioning, they just won't stop watering.

She lowered her head, trying to stop herself from crying.

It was just a nice-sounding phrase, but look how touched you are.

Remember, a man's words are deceitful.

Men are all big jerks; most of what they say is a lie. If you believe them, you're doomed.

She tried to calm herself down. What was wrong with her today? Why did she feel like crying all the time?

I've cried too much today. I can't cry anymore, or I'll ruin my eyes.
