Cheng Shaolin's smile faded. "Yes, I'm serious." He paused for a moment, then continued, "It depends on the situation. If it's a white lie, or if you have your reasons, I won't blame you. As long as it benefits you, I won't hold it against you. But if you're deliberately lying to me, then I will—" He stopped abruptly.
Li Xiao stared at him with wide eyes, and he stopped there without saying a word.

"Why don't you say anything?"
Cheng Shaolin looked at Li Xiao like a curious cat, eyes wide open, waiting for her to continue.
"I'll, I'll hit you!" she said lightly, looking at Li Xiao with amusement.
Li Xiao then realized she had been tricked and angrily prepared to stand up.
Seeing that he had angered her, Cheng Shaolin quickly helped her up and laughed.
"Okay, okay, don't be angry. It's my fault, don't be upset."
"I was serious, but you were joking. Humph!"
Seeing the huffy young lady, Cheng Shaolin didn't dare to tease her too much. "I'm serious, I'm telling the truth."
I believe everything you say.
"It's a lie." Li Xiao didn't believe it.

Li Xiao stared at him intently, forgetting that her hand was still being held in Cheng Shaolin's.
She could see intense affection in Cheng Shaolin's eyes. Before this, she had never thought about what kind of person Cheng Shaolin was.
