The table was full of food, but Li Xiao only ate a third of it; Cheng Shaolin finished the rest. He had a really good appetite.
"Are you full? If not, tell me, and I'll give you plenty." Li Xiao asked him worriedly.
Cheng Shaolin ate with great relish, completely satisfied. "I'm full, it was delicious."
Li Xiao was incredibly proud of herself. "Of course, they're all delicious." She even raised her chin as she finished speaking.
Looking at the proud Li Xiao, Cheng Shaolin felt like he was a spoiled little kitten, and his hand unconsciously reached out to touch her head.
Li Xiao pouted and glanced at him sideways, not wanting to talk to him.
Cheng Shaolin looked at her with a smile.
"Keep the good stuff for yourself, I'll just eat a little." He was worried that if everything was gone now, Xiaoxiao would go hungry again. Where would he get more food then?
It's not a matter of whether we have the ability to do it or not. Things aren't like before, where restaurants and eateries were everywhere and you could buy them anytime.
With such a severe shortage of supplies, where can you find fresh ingredients? There were only six dishes; that's not something you can find right now.
What will Li Xiao do if she has nothing to eat then? It's better to save the good food now so she can eat it slowly later.
Li Xiao patted his arm. "Don't worry, you'll have something to eat. Do you think I'd let myself go hungry? There were other people around who couldn't see, but now that no one's watching, why would I starve myself?"
Cheng Shaolin saw that she didn't hesitate at all and understood. "Okay, from now on you'll follow Xiaoxiao. If you follow Xiaoxiao, you'll get to eat meat."
Li Xiao nodded vigorously, "Yes, follow me and I guarantee you'll get good food." Then she smiled.
