Chapter 9 Rest

While waiting for the rabbit meat to stew, Lin Zhiyue's eyes swept across the lush vegetable garden in the space.

She suddenly had an idea and thought that the meal would be perfect if it could be served with some fresh vegetables.

So she walked quickly to the vegetable garden and carefully selected among the tender green spinach, round cabbage and slender beans.

Finally, she selected a few fresh cabbages and a handful of beans, picked them carefully and held them in her hands. The dew on the leaves sparkled in the sunlight.

Back in the kitchen, Lin Zhiyue washed the cabbage and beans by the sink.

She gently rubbed the leaves of the cabbage, washing away the dirt in every fold. Water droplets slid down the leaves, making crisp dripping sounds.

She carefully pinched off the ends of the beans one by one and then folded them into even pieces. At this moment, a beep came from the rice cooker, and the rice was cooked. The aroma of rice oozes out from the cracks in the lid, interweaving with the aroma of rabbit meat to form an intoxicating mixed aroma.

Lin Zhiyue opened the lid of the rice cooker, and a cloud of hot steam rose instantly. The plump white rice grains piled up into an attractive hill in the pot.

She picked up the rice spoon, gently scooped out the rice and put it into a delicate porcelain bowl. The heat from the rice blurred the lenses of her glasses. She took off her glasses, wiped them clean with the corner of her clothes, put them back on, and turned her attention back to the stove.

The rabbit meat had been stewed for a while. She opened the lid of the pot again, and the rich and mellow aroma instantly filled the air. The rabbit meat was rolling in the brown-red soup, the color was attractive, and the meat looked soft and tasty.

Lin Zhiyue poked the rabbit meat lightly with chopsticks and it went in easily, indicating that it was cooked. She put the washed Chinese cabbage and beans into the pot. The beans slowly turned green in the soup, and the Chinese cabbage gradually softened.

Lin Zhiyue added a little salt for seasoning, stirred it evenly, and covered the pot to allow the vegetables to continue absorbing the flavor of the soup in the residual heat.

A few minutes later, Lin Zhiyue turned off the stove and brought a pot of delicious rabbit stew to the table.

She sat down at the dining table, with steaming rice and rabbit stew in front of her. The rising steam blurred her vision, but could not hide the satisfaction and joy in her eyes.

She picked up the chopsticks, picked up a piece of rabbit meat and put it into her mouth. The tender rabbit meat spread on the tip of her tongue, and the aroma of the meat and the aroma of the seasoning blended perfectly. The soft and tender texture made it almost effortless for her to chew.

She took another mouthful of rice, then picked up a piece of vegetable with soup with chopsticks. The aroma of rice, meat and vegetables intertwined in her mouth. She savored this hard-earned delicacy and enjoyed every bite with gusto.

In this quiet space, Lin Zhiyue immersed herself in the pleasure brought by the food, temporarily forgetting the hardships of the end of the world and the troubles of reality.

After Lin Zhiyue contentedly enjoyed the delicious rabbit stew and fragrant rice in the space, she leaned back in her chair comfortably, gently stroking her slightly bulging belly, a satisfied smile on her face.

She stood up and began to clean up the dishes, washing them one by one and putting them in order. Every movement she made was filled with laziness and leisure after dinner.

Then, she walked briskly towards the cozy bedroom in the space.

In the bedroom, a soft big bed occupies a corner. The bed is covered with exquisite bedding. The sheets are as white as snow, the quilt cover is embroidered with elegant flowers, and the pillows exude a faint lavender scent, which makes people yearn for it at first sight.

Lin Zhiyue came to the bed, grabbed a corner of the sheet with both hands, and skillfully lifted the sheet. Her movements were gentle and neat, avoiding raising dust.

Then, she collected the quilt covers and pillowcases one by one, folded the bedding neatly, and held them in her arms.

Everything was ready, and Lin Zhiyue flashed away, leaving this space full of fantasy and warmth.

She returned to her room in reality, and as soon as she stepped in, she felt that the furnishings in the room seemed a bit old and simple.

Without the slightest hesitation, she set about redecorating the room.

She first unfolded the sheet in her hand and gently spread it on the bed, carefully smoothing out every wrinkle so that the sheet fit smoothly against the mattress.

Then, she picked up the quilt cover and skillfully put the quilt into it. She shook it vigorously a few times to make the quilt evenly distributed in the quilt cover. Then she zipped up the quilt cover and spread the quilt neatly on the bed, making the four corners square.

She picked up two more pillowcases and put her pillows in them, patting them gently to make them fluffy again.

Then, she placed the pillows on the bedside, one vertically and one horizontally, in an orderly manner. After doing this, Lin Zhiyue looked around and felt that something was missing.

Her eyes fell on a small bookshelf in the space, where some of her favorite books were placed.

She flashed into the space again, picked out a few books with beautiful covers, and placed them on the table in the room.

Finally, she took out a bunch of wild flowers she had just picked from the space, found a glass bottle, filled it with water, put the wild flowers in it, and placed it on the bedside.

At this time, the room looked brand new thanks to Lin Zhiyue's careful decoration.

White bedding, books smelling of ink, and beautiful wild flowers fill the whole room with warmth and romance.

Lin Zhiyue looked at the fruits of his labor with satisfaction, yawned, stretched, and a feeling of fatigue instantly hit him.

She walked to the bed, sat down gently on it, took off her shoes, and got into the warm bed.

She rested her head on the soft pillow, pulled the quilt over her body, and adjusted herself into a comfortable position.

Outside the window, the moonlight was like water, pouring into the room through the window, covering the entire room with a layer of silver gauze.
