Chapter 28 Basketball Court

Chapter 28 Basketball Court

There's not much scheduled activity in physical education class; after the group running exercises, we're free to do whatever we want.

Jiang Wan hadn't run in a long time, and after running two laps around the track, she was still a little out of breath.

"Why are you panting like that? You're exhausted after just two laps?" Sun Qianyu walked beside her with a disdainful expression.

Jiang Wan held her waist with one hand and smoothed her chest with the other to catch her breath. "I'm not like you."

"What's the difference? You're talking nonsense." Sun Qianyu saw that she was panting heavily and her mouth was dry. "Let's go, I'll go with you to buy a bottle of water."

"Okay, let's go." Jiang Wan took Sun Qianyu's arm, leaned half her body against her, and swayed as they walked out of the playground.

"Wanwan, have you gained weight recently?" Sun Qianyu exclaimed, pushing her. "You're so heavy, my arm is numb."

"Bullshit, I only weigh a little over 90 pounds, what's so heavy about that?"

"It weighs over ninety pounds. I can't carry it on my shoulders or lift it with my hands. That must be incredibly heavy."

The two walked towards the convenience store, laughing and joking. When they passed the equipment room, they ran into Jiang Shengming leading a few boys out.

Several people were pushing a cart with storage baskets containing sports equipment, including basketballs, soccer balls, volleyballs, and so on.

Sun Qianyu stopped and stood in front of Jiang Shengming, pointing to the basketball he was holding alone in his hands, and asked, "Are you guys going to play basketball?"

"Hmm." Jiang Shengming nodded, then glanced at the cart beside him. "What do you want to play? We also have badminton equipment here."

Sun Qianyu tugged at Jiang Wan's arm, "Want to play badminton?"

"I don't want to play." Jiang Wan gave Sun Qianyu a disappointed look, then pressed Jiang Shengming, "Which court do the boys in our class play on? We're going to the convenience store anyway, so we can bring you some water back, okay?"

Sun Qianyu suddenly realized, "Oh right, there are so many of you, we'll buy you some water."

"Thank you all then." Jiang Shengming held a basketball in one hand and pointed diagonally forward with the other. "We'll be on that court over there, five of us, playing with Class 13."

Jiang Wan turned around and immediately spotted Zhou Chong on the vast, empty stadium.

He took off his school uniform jacket, revealing a black hooded sweatshirt underneath, which hung loosely on his body. From a distance, he looked tall and upright.

"Does Zhou Chong also play ball?" Jiang Wan asked.

"Yeah, he's really good at basketball, but he rarely plays." Jiang Shengming nodded. "Zhang Chi just asked us if we wanted to play basketball with Class 13. I thought he didn't want to play, but I didn't expect him to agree."

Seeing the figures in her field of vision, Jiang Wan's eyes lit up. "Okay, you guys go ahead, we'll come find you in a bit."

"Thanks." Jiang Shengming didn't stand on ceremony. After thanking him, he picked up the basketball and headed to the court.

The two continued walking towards the convenience store.

Sun Qianyu nudged Jiang Wan's elbow, "I didn't expect that at first."

"Silly." Jiang Wan tapped her forehead. "You read a lot of romance novels, how come you're so slow to react when it comes to yourself? I have to ask you for help."

Sun Qianyu stuck out her tongue and clasped her hands in a fist salute, "Thank you for your guidance, Master."

When the two arrived at the convenience store, Sun Qianyu scanned a row of sports drinks, taking several bottles of each: Gatorade, Red Bull, and Gatorade.

"Are you just buying water?" Sun Qianyu turned to look at Jiang Wan. "Aren't you going to buy Zhou Chong a bottle of Gatorade or something?"

Jiang Wan shook her head. "He doesn't like sugary drinks, water is fine with him."

“You know all this so well, you know his likes and dislikes like the back of your hand.” Sun Qianyu clicked her tongue. “Compared to you, I am truly ashamed of myself.”

Jiang Wan paused for a moment, smiled, and said nothing.

She had at least been married to Zhou Chong in name only for three years in her previous life, so she had some understanding of him.

Zhou Chong has a habit of exercising regularly. In the past, every time he went to the gym, he would only bring a bottle of water and would not drink any other sports drinks.

If she's not mistaken, this taste preference must have been formed when she was young.

Even if she guesses wrong, it doesn't matter. Sun Qianyu bought a whole bunch, so we can just take some from her.

When the two returned to the field carrying their things, the game had already started.

The five players from their class who took the court included Zhou Chong, Jiang Shengming, Zhang Chi, Li Yang, and another tall and strong boy.

As for Class 13, Jiang Wan didn't recognize any of the other students besides Qi Ming.

Basketball courts have always been the location with the highest concentration of hormones in youth films.

As Jiang Wan approached the court step by step, listening to the sounds of running and shooting, the referee's whistle, and the cheers from the sidelines, she couldn't help but feel a sense of emotion.

The true, long-lost feeling of youth is a feeling that can never be found again by watching any youth movie.

No filters, no music, just the most direct and intense sensory impact.

How lucky she is to be able to truly relive her youth.

Perhaps because it involved a competition between two classes, or perhaps because both sides had popular handsome guys on the field, the basketball court was already completely surrounded by girls from both classes.

Jiang Wan and Sun Qianyu shouted "Excuse me!" as they weaved through the crowd and finally managed to squeeze to the edge of the court.

Standing here, you can see the scoreboard, but your field of vision is limited to this corner of the field.

Forget about seeing the whole picture, it's hard enough to even see who scored. You can only hear a cheer from ahead, then look up at the scoreboard to figure out which side scored.

Jiang Wan was anxious. This position wouldn't work; not only could Zhou Chong not see her, but she couldn't see Zhou Chong either.

By the time the competition ends, she won't even have time to get him water.

Just as she was looking around for an empty seat, she suddenly heard someone call her name.

"Jiang Wan, come this way."

Jiang Wan turned her head and looked closely; the person who called her was Shi Leyao.

She was standing with another girl, a girl with short, ear-length hair, who was her deskmate, Zheng Ran.

After meeting Jiang Wan's gaze, Shi Leyao and Zheng Ran each took a step to the side, making room for two people.

Jiang Wan was overjoyed and quickly pulled Sun Qianyu to squeeze through.
