Chapter 112 Post-Wedding Extra: Old Things (Part 1)
Having just transitioned from a high school student to a high-level working professional, Jiang Wan was still finding it a little difficult to adjust.
On my first day in the office, it took me a long time to forget all the formulas and theorems in my head and focus on the consulting cases at hand.
Compared to her, Zhou Chong's adaptability is obviously much stronger.
Not long after returning to work at Rongxin Investment Bank, he took his team to New Zealand to investigate investment projects, a trip that lasted for half a month.
According to Zhou Chong, this business trip was planned long ago. The overseas clients had already made arrangements before the two traveled back in time, so it was inconvenient to postpone or change the date.
Jiang Wan expressed its understanding of this.
She prioritizes her career, and she does too.
In the first few days after starting work, I wasn't very familiar with the new project, so I worked overtime until very late every day before going home.
Zhou Chong didn't say anything, and he even brought her late-night snacks every night and picked her up from get off work.
Although Jiang Wan was reluctant to admit that she was clingy, it had only been a short time since their wedding anniversary, and they had already been apart for more than ten days. She really missed Zhou Chong.
On weekdays, I can distract myself with work, but on weekends, I can only spend time with Sun Qianyu.
"Look at your resentful face."
Sun Qianyu stood in front of the dressing mirror, looking at Jiang Wan behind her in the mirror, "Your face right now has four big words written on it, do you know what they are?"
Jiang Wan looked up and met her gaze through the mirror. "What?"
Sun Qianyu raised an eyebrow, “Unsatisfied.”
Jiang Wan quickly glanced around and lowered her voice, "Shut up, you brat!"
Sun Qianyu chuckled, pursed her lips, and steered the conversation back on track, "Alright, I asked you to come with me to try on wedding dresses, can't you be a little happier?"
Jiang Wan stepped forward, smiled at the full-length mirror, and said, "This outfit is pretty good, better than the fishtail one from before."
"Right? I think so too. A full skirt suits me better." Sun Qianyu put her hands on her hips and looked at herself in the mirror. "Wouldn't it be better if the waist was a little smaller?"
"That's already thin enough." Jiang Wan turned around, casually picked up a flyer from the lounge table, about the size of an A4 sheet of paper, and held it up to Sun Qianyu's waist. "Isn't that enough? Does it have to be an ant waist?"
Sun Qianyu turned around and smiled, "Okay, this set will do. I'll take your measurements again after I change out."
"Okay." Jiang Wan nodded.
Sun Qianyu went back into the fitting room, changed out of her wedding dress with the help of the staff, had her measurements taken again, and made some minor custom alterations.
"By the way, has Jiang Shengming's suit been ordered yet?" Jiang Wan asked curiously, "I accompanied you to order your wedding dress, what about his?"
“He made the decision himself, and he probably asked Zhou Chong for his opinion as well,” Sun Qianyu shrugged. “He didn’t tell me the specifics, and I didn’t ask him either.”
"You two didn't say anything?" Jiang Wan raised an eyebrow in surprise. "When it comes to wedding preparations, everyone prepares their own things, right?"
"No, I told him that I wouldn't let him see the wedding dress before the wedding, and in return, I wouldn't ask about his suit. I wanted to keep things a little exciting and mysterious."
Sun Qianyu winked at Jiang Wan, took out a black card and walked towards the counter, "But, it's all swiped with his card."
Jiang Wan chuckled and followed, "You can use Engineer Jiang's card as you please."
"Hmm." Sun Qianyu raised an eyebrow. "Isn't your boss Zhou's credit card under your control?"
Jiang Wan was taken aback; there really wasn't.
For the previous three years, she and Zhou Chong managed their own money separately. The terms of the agreement were clearly written, and their premarital assets were also disclosed.
After Sun Qianyu's suggestion, Jiang Wan thought about it seriously and decided not to let Zhou Chong hand over the financial power.
Managing money is tiring, and as an actuary, she didn't want to bring her work habits home. Besides, she trusted Zhou Chong.
After swiping her card, Sun Qianyu noticed that Jiang Wan remained silent, her face still showing a thoughtful expression. She assumed that Jiang Wan had fallen back into her lovesickness when she thought of Zhou Chong.
"I'm not saying this to be mean, but you've only been apart from your husband for over ten days, and you miss him that much?"
Jiang Wan was taken aback, then came to her senses, her eyebrows drooping and her lips pursed, "Yeah, it's been more than ten days since we last met. You're just talking without understanding the situation."
Sun Qianyu scoffed lightly, "Why haven't I seen you so clingy before? This isn't Zhou Chong's first business trip. Before, when he was away on business, you would happily come to see me. What's wrong with you lately? Is your affection suddenly overflowing?"
Jiang Wan lowered her eyes, unable to explain everything she and Zhou Chong had gone through, and could only vaguely say, "Well... the longer you're married, the better your relationship becomes."
As she spoke, she raised her hand and patted Sun Qianyu's shoulder, "You'll slowly understand after you marry Jiang Shengming."
Sun Qianyu glanced at her and said, "I really can't respond to that."
The two walked to the entrance of the wedding dress shop, chatting and laughing, when a dark gray Mercedes-Benz GLS came to a stop on the side of the road.
The car window rolled down, and Jiang Shengming, who was in the driver's seat, appeared and waved to the two of them.
"Your fiancé is here to pick you up." Jiang Wan waved to Jiang Shengming, then turned her head and raised an eyebrow at Sun Qianyu.
"What fiancé? Husband, okay?" Sun Qianyu glanced at her. "We've already registered our marriage, we just haven't had the wedding yet."
Jiang Wan quickly corrected herself: "Okay, okay, your husband is here to pick you up."
Sun Qianyu smiled and walked towards the car in front of her.
Jiang Shengming had already gotten out of the driver's seat and walked around to the passenger side to open the car door for her.
After Sun Qianyu got into the car, he turned to Jiang Wan and asked, "Jiang Wan, are you going back to Yunxi Bay? Can I give you a ride?"
Sun Qianyu also poked her head out from behind the still-open car door, "Yes, let's get in and go together."
Jiang Wan glanced at the two of them, smiled and shook her head, "No need, I drove here myself, and I parked in the parking lot next door. You can go ahead."
"Okay."
Be careful on your way back.
"Okay, bye-bye."
After waving goodbye to the two, Jiang Wan watched Jiang Shengming drive away before turning and walking towards the parking lot.
Returning to Yunxi Bay, I felt a familiar sense of emptiness.
The nanny had already prepared dinner, and when she saw Jiang Wan return, she put the dinner on the table.
Three dishes and one soup, enough for one person.
Jiang Wan finished her meal alone and went upstairs to her room.
The nanny hired by Yunxi Bay is not a live-in housekeeper. She comes to the house on time every day to cook and clean, and leaves after finishing the dishes.
In the huge three-story villa, only Jiang Wan remained.
After taking a shower, she sat in her room, looking at the photo frames on her bedside table. She recalled the scene of accompanying Sun Qianyu to try on wedding dresses that afternoon and suddenly wanted to find all the other wedding photos she and Zhou Chong had taken before.
As soon as the thought crossed her mind, she went straight out of the bedroom and headed to the storage room on the third floor.
Items that are not frequently used are categorized and stored in the storage room, including some outdated old objects.
For example, the wedding photos she and Zhou Chong took three years ago are all stored here, except for the small photo frame on the bedside table.
Fortunately, the nanny cleans diligently, so it shouldn't be dusty.
