Chapter 117 Post-Wedding Extra: Garden Party (Part 3)
After Zhou Chong threw away the ring toss, Jiang Wan was already holding several dolls of various sizes in her arms.
The staff collected the rings scattered on the ground, politely explaining that each person could only experience it once, and that they would leave them for later guests to continue playing.
Jiang Wan, carrying the plush puppy phone case she had acquired, and holding a teddy bear and a white rabbit doll in her arms, excitedly dragged Zhou Chong to play darts again, where they won the grand prize once more.
Zhang Chi and Li Yang were dumbfounded.
If there weren't only ten minutes left before the wedding ceremony started, Jiang Wan would have dragged Zhou Chong to play at every single booth in the game area.
"Alright, the ceremony is about to start, and we've had enough fun. Let's go to the viewing area."
As Jiang Wan spoke, she handed the teddy bear in her arms to Zhou Chong, saying, "Could you hold this for me?"
“Okay.” Zhou Chong carried the bear in one hand and held Jiang Wan’s hand with the other, walking forward side by side with her.
Zhang Chi walked behind the two of them, looking at the lonely crystal ball in his hand, and secretly hid it behind his back out of shame.
The group took their seats in the viewing area.
The wooden chairs were tied with champagne-colored ribbons, each with a white balloon attached.
Between the seats in the viewing area on both sides, a long aisle was separated by light green and white hydrangeas.
At the end of the corridor was a ceremony area decorated with curtains and flowers. Pure white lilies of the valley and champagne-colored roses cascaded down the curtains behind the room, resembling a cascading waterfall of flowers.
After Jiang Wan sat down, she tidied up all the prizes she had won in the game area and temporarily stored them under her chair.
Just as I was about to look up, a pair of high heels suddenly appeared in my line of sight, with understated small square heels and an elegant light silver color.
The hem of the coat, which reached down to her calves, swayed slightly in the wind.
"Jiang Wan, is this seat taken?"
A soft female voice sounded above Jiang Wan's head, a voice that was very familiar to her.
Jiang Wan looked up with delight, "Shi Leyao?"
Shi Leyao stood gracefully in front of Jiang Wan, carrying a tote bag in one hand and raising the other to tuck the hair that had been blown by the wind behind her ear, looking at her with a smile.
In her previous life, Jiang Wan and Shi Leyao were not close. They met a few times at class reunions, but their impressions were vague.
Her connection with Shi Leyao only began to grow stronger after she was reborn and returned to her senior year of high school.
Therefore, in Jiang Wan's mind, her impression of Shi Leyao was still that of a girl with a ponytail, glasses, and a shy yet gentle smile from high school.
But the Shi Leyao in front of her was clearly very different from the girl she remembered.
She took off her round glasses, her long hair cascading down her shoulders, straight and jet black, her delicately drawn eyebrows, and her lips adorned with a striking bright red lipstick.
Her smile remains gentle and beautiful, yet possesses an indescribable charm.
She was very confident and elegant, with an enviable gleam in her eyes.
Jiang Wan smiled at her, "Of course no one's sitting here. This is the seat I saved for you. Sit down quickly."
Shi Leyao smiled at Jiang Wan, bent down and sat down in the chair next to her. Then, she took out two bottles of orange soda from her tote bag.
"When I passed the dessert table and the water bar just now, the staff put two bottles in my hand." Shi Leyao handed one of the bottles, an orange soda, to Jiang Wan. "Are you thirsty? Would you like some?"
"Okay." Jiang Wan took a bottle of orange soda, unscrewed the cap, took a small sip, and turned to look to the other side. "There are a lot of game booths over there. Did you go play any?"
Shi Leyao shook her head. "No, something came up at the law firm and I was late. I was afraid I wouldn't make it in time for the ceremony to start, so I rushed over here."
Shi Leyao is now a senior lawyer at Jinda Law Firm, one of the top-tier law firms in China. According to insiders, the number of successful cases she has handled accounts for half of Jinda Law Firm's business volume in the past two years.
"What's the top lawyer been up to lately?" Jiang Wan asked, holding a can of orange soda and smiling at her. "Working overtime on the weekend? Which financial tycoon is getting a divorce this time?"
"Are you kidding me?" Shi Leyao shook her head with a smile, her eyes half-closed. "It is related to a certain capital tycoon, but it is not a divorce lawsuit. I can't say the specifics. I have signed a confidentiality agreement with the parties involved."
Jiang Wan raised her hand and made an "OK" gesture, nodding knowingly with an "I understand" expression on her face.
"I saw you bending down and putting something under the chair just now?" Shi Leyao glanced curiously under Jiang Wan's chair. "A bunch of plush toys, are they props for the ceremony later?"
"No, these are prizes from playing games. Just now, Zhou Chong, Zhang Chi, Li Yang, and I were playing ring toss and darts together. Zhou Chong won these games and got them for me."
As she spoke, Jiang Wan bent down to pull out a packaging bag from under the chair. "By the way, you haven't had time to play, so I'll give you one. See which one you like."
It was easy to put it down when I was doing it, but now that there are people sitting next to me, the distance between the chairs has narrowed, making it harder to reach out.
Seeing that she was bending over with difficulty, Shi Leyao helped her up. "No need, these are all spoils that Zhou Chong helped you win. How can I give them to you?"
"It's alright, Zhou Chong won't mind." Jiang Wan straightened up, turned her head and raised an eyebrow at Zhou Chong beside her, "Right?"
Zhou Chong nodded with a light smile.
Although the couple had said that, Shi Leyao still stopped Jiang Wan from bending down to pull at the bag.
"Really, it's not necessary. The ceremony is about to begin, let's get ready to watch."
Just as Shi Leyao waved her hand in refusal, a crystal ball suddenly appeared beside her.
The crystal-clear glass reflects soft, lustrous light in the slanting rays of the setting sun.
Inside the crystal ball was a small stage, where a little girl in a princess dress was dancing.
Shi Leyao turned her head and looked at Zhang Chi, who was sitting in the front row and turning around.
"I got this while playing ring toss with Jiang Wan and the others. I'm not as good as Zhou Chong, so I only got this one." Zhang Chi smiled sheepishly. "It's not appropriate for a grown man like me to carry a crystal ball, so here you go."
Jiang Wan paused, turned around, and exchanged a glance with Zhou Chong.
They both understood each other's gazes, but neither of them uttered a single word.
Li Yang, however, turned around from the front row and added to Zhang Chi's comment: "But he's better than me; I didn't catch a single one."
The people present couldn't help but laugh.
Shi Leyao paused for a moment, then took the crystal ball from Zhang Chi. "Thank you."
"You're welcome." Zhang Chi withdrew his hand, paused for a moment, and quickly turned around.
When Shi Leyao held the crystal ball, she accidentally touched the switch under the wooden base, and the small stage inside the crystal ball started to rotate.
A little girl in a princess dress danced gracefully, surrounded by fluttering golden sequins.
A dazzling princess.
