Chapter 7 Ah Jin?

Qiao Xi vaguely sensed something. After entering the room, she locked the door again. Relying on her memories of her past life, she opened a cabinet that hadn't been used for a long time. Inside, there was a plastic bottle!

Qiao Xi will never forget this bottle!

In a past life, someone put a drug in my grandfather's teacup. The drug wasn't fatal, but it was enough to make him lose his mind.

Just as her grandfather was about to drink the tea, Bai Ruxue rushed out and snatched the teacup from his hand, then loudly told everyone that someone had drugged the tea.

As for how she found out, she refused to say, pretending that she dared not to.

The eldest uncle flew into a rage and demanded a search of the manor. In the end, they found the bottle of medicine in this cabinet!

Although the timing didn't match, everything else did!

In her previous life, she returned home because of Aunt Feng's obstruction, and only came back a month later, and then that incident happened.

It was at this moment that Bai Ruxue placed the medicine bottle in her room!

As she pondered, she heard a noise downstairs; it was her uncle's voice.

Instantly, she became excited and hurriedly left the room and ran downstairs.

Han Qian, who was waiting downstairs, immediately went up to greet them, "Dad, Xue Lin, you're back."

Bai Zhanwang never accepted this daughter-in-law. No matter how much Han Qian tried to please him, he remained unmoved. As for Bai Xuelin, he had come to know Han Qian's character over the years, but since she hadn't done anything outrageous, he didn't kick her and her daughter out of the manor.

When Qiao Xi saw her maternal grandfather, her eldest uncle, and her brothers, a warm feeling instantly welled up in her eyes. She tried her best to suppress it and ran towards them, calling out, "Grandpa, Uncle."

Upon hearing this, Bai Zhanwang looked at Qiao Xi with a delighted expression, "Xi'er?"

Qiao Xi quickly came to his side. Looking at her grandfather's white hair and wrinkled face, she couldn't help but give him a deep hug. "Grandpa."

"What's wrong?" Bai Zhanwang gently patted her back, asking with great concern, "Has our Xi'er been bullied?"

Upon hearing this, Han Qian quickly interjected, "Dad, who would dare to bully our Xiao Xi here?"

She was terrified that Qiao Xi would tell Bai Zhanwang what Feng Ma had said.

Qiao Xi knew what she was thinking, but he didn't intend to complain. There was no need to use such methods to deal with them.

After calming herself down, she slowly left her grandfather's embrace, and said with a bright smile, "Grandpa, no one bullied me."

Hearing Qiao Xi say this, Bai Zhanwang finally breathed a sigh of relief, and then grabbed her hand with a doting expression and said, "Why didn't you tell Grandpa you were coming?"

"Xi'er wants to give Grandpa a surprise." Qiao Xi winked at him mischievously.

Bai Zhanwang was overjoyed. Han Qian flattered him at this moment, saying, "That's right, Xiao Xi hid in her room as soon as she got back. She didn't tell you on purpose because she wanted to give you a surprise."

Even though Qiao Xi had just said that no one was bullying her, Han Qian was still worried.

Bai Zhanwang nodded with relief. There had been a lot of unpleasantness between her and Qi Jincheng before, and she hadn't been here for a while because of it. She wouldn't answer the phone, and her uncle was turned away when he went to look for her.

But now things are alright. Seeing the genuine smile on her face, he breathed a sigh of relief.

Bai Xuelin was very pleased to see this, saying, "You little rascal."

The older cousin, Bai Hongyi, added, "You can tell us, and we'll come pick you up."

Upon hearing this, the second cousin, Bai Jinghuan, immediately teased, "Big brother, she doesn't need us to pick her up and drop her off now. Xi'er is the young mistress of the Qi family now, she has someone to pick her up and drop her off."

Upon hearing this, Bai Hongyi was the first to react and winked at Bai Jinghuan. He knew that becoming the young mistress of the Qi family was not something Qiao Xi had willingly agreed to; he knew how much trouble it had caused before.

Bai Jinghuan realized he had misspoke and was about to smooth things over when Qiao Xi said triumphantly, "Yeah, so Second Brother, you have to be nicer to me, or I'll get A Jin to help me get revenge."

"Ah... Jin?" Bai Jinghuan repeated the name, his tongue involuntarily getting tied in knots.

He then looked at Bai Hongyi and the others, including Bai Zhanwang, who all looked bewildered.

Bai Jinghuan involuntarily swallowed, then asked Qiao Xi for confirmation: "Qi Jincheng?"

"Yes." Qiao Xi nodded firmly.

After receiving confirmation, they found it even more incredible.

After all, Qiao Xi's previous rejection of the marriage was undeniable; no matter how they tried to persuade her, she wouldn't listen. Just a couple of days ago, she even considered running away from the wedding. How could she suddenly change her mind now...?

Bai Jinghuan shivered involuntarily and said, "That's too cheesy."

Qiao Xi, with a smug look that seemed to say, "My husband, I can call him whatever I want."

Bai Xuelin agreed, saying, "That's right, you shouldn't meddle in the affairs of a young couple."

Bai Hongyi nodded knowingly, secretly smiling as he said, "Judging from this situation, I'll be able to become an uncle next year."

The implication was clear to everyone.

“That won’t do.” Bai Xuelin was the first to object. “Our Xi’er hasn’t even graduated from university yet. She should focus on her studies right now.”

Bai Jinghuan couldn't help but chime in, "We'll still have kids and continue our studies."

Before he finished speaking, several pairs of eyes turned to him.

He didn't think he had said anything wrong, and even said seriously, "Isn't that how it is now?"

"Shut up!" Bai Xuelin scolded him without giving him a kind look.

Bai Jinghuan was utterly innocent, but unfortunately, no one was there to help him. Qiao Xi gave him a sympathetic look, but as the person involved, she couldn't accept such a thing either.

She loves Qi Jincheng, that's true, but having a child now is indeed a bit too early.

Bai Zhanwang then gestured to Bai Xuelin and said, "Have Aunt Feng tell the kitchen to prepare a few more dishes."

Qiao Xi quickly stopped her uncle, "No need, it's just a simple home-cooked meal, we can just eat whatever we want."

She wasn't a guest; she was part of the family, something her grandfather often emphasized to her.

Bai Zhanwang was very pleased to hear her say that; his recent anxiety could finally be put to rest.

On the other side, Bai Ruxue watched them chatting and felt very jealous. Since she came to this family, she had never had the chance to chat with the elders like Qiao Xi.

That old geezer never even gave her a second glance, and as for her father, he only showed her token concern.

What's most infuriating are her two brothers. Every time she tries to chat with them, they always make excuses that they're too busy. Even if they do chat occasionally, they're never as happy as they are now!
