Chapter 63 Makes a Big Mistake

Mingyao nodded repeatedly and thanked the police officer again and again.

Holding her little rascal, she strolled down the dimly lit street, sighing heavily, "You, you, do you think I'm your mother?"

Little Radish whispered a muffled "Mmm" in her ear.

Mingyao smiled and didn't refute, "What do you want to eat? I'll buy it for you."

...

Outside the Pei family mansion.

Mingyao stood nervously in front of the door, holding the KFC bag in one hand and Little Radish Ding's hand in the other.

Su Qiqiang sent her a message telling her everything that happened at the Pei family mansion that afternoon.

Mingyao wished she could hop into a time machine and go back to the Pei family mansion that afternoon to give Su Xueya a good lesson.

Su Xueya used to have a history of promiscuous relationships with men, and she learned a lot of ways to seduce them.

If you've learned it, then so be it; using it appropriately won't cause any major harm.

But why did she have to use it on Pei Siyu?

If you think about it for a moment, Pei Siyu has been aloof from women all these years, isn't it because he doesn't fall for seduction?

Using the same methods you use to seduce an ordinary man to seduce him is tantamount to playing with fire and getting burned.

Su Xueya had only spent less than half an hour alone with Pei Siyu, yet she was already able to provoke him.

Thinking of this, Mingyao shivered, wondering what kind of storm was about to hit her next.

She took a breath and rang the doorbell.

"Miss Su, this child is..."

Aunt Wu pushed open the door, looked at Little Radish Ding, a smile appearing in her eyes, and greeted him gently.

Little Radish timidly hid behind Mingyao, barely daring to breathe, looking terrified.

Mingyao held Xiao Luoboding's hand tightly. "I don't know what this child's name is. He can't find his parents, so the police let me bring him back first."

"Yeah?"

Aunt Wu seemed to like children and asked, "Little friend, what would you like to eat?"

Little Radish looked at Aunt Wu with fear and didn't respond to her at all.

Knowing that the child was scared, Wu's mother didn't ask any more questions.

As Mingyao led the child into the living room, she caught a glimpse of Wu Ma giving her a strange look.

"Aunt Wu, what's wrong?"

Aunt Wu withdrew her scrutinizing gaze, grinned, and said, "It's nothing. Miss Su is acting strange today. Is something wrong?"

It's all thanks to Su Xueya!

Mingyao made up an excuse and said embarrassedly, "I drank a little today, and it seems like this afternoon..."

He seemed to recall something, his face scrunched up like a bitter gourd, and he asked in a weak, barely audible voice, "Is Master Pei here?"

"I want to explain to him that when I'm drunk, I can't control my emotions and my behavior becomes strange."

Aunt Wu nodded thoughtfully, "Master Pei is in the study."

"Would it be alright if Aunt Wu took care of the child for now?"

"Sure, sure, I love kids the most."

Aunt Wu watched Pei Siyu grow up. When he was little, Pei Siyu was so cute and cuddly, unlike now, when he's cold and aloof.

Little Radish Ding gripped Mingyao's hand tightly and shook his head.

Mingyao picked him up and placed him on the sofa, saying solemnly, "This is my home."

"My sister needs to talk to an older brother about something. You wait for me downstairs, and let Aunt Wu take care of you."

"Aunt Wu really likes you, little boy. If you need anything, you can ask Aunt Wu."

Mingyao spoke gently, and Little Radish Ding pouted, reluctantly nodding in agreement.

After receiving the little one's permission, Mingyao went upstairs and nervously entered the study.

She took a deep breath, her heart leaping into her throat. She clenched her sweaty palms and mustered her courage before knocking on the door.

A deep, husky male voice came from the other side of the heavy door, "Come in."

Mingyao cautiously pushed open a crack in the door, and a cold breeze carrying the scent of sandalwood rushed in. She mustered all her strength, tensed her nerves, and tiptoed inside.

"Master Pei."

Pei Siyu frowned, his eyes flashing with disgust. "What are you doing here?!"

Mingyao inwardly groaned.

Please, it was the real Su Xueya who was disgusting this afternoon, not her!

Mingyao felt extremely wronged, but she couldn't say it out loud, so she could only suppress her emotions and say, "I came here to explain what happened this afternoon."

“Um,” she paused for a moment, glancing at Pei Siyu’s icy face out of the corner of her eye, “I was drunk this afternoon, so my words and actions were strange. Please don’t take it to heart, Mr. Pei.”

She lowered her head, staring at her toes, and said, "I will drink less in the future."

Pei Siyu paused, his hand holding the pen stilling. He raised an eyebrow and looked at her suspiciously. "Drinking?"

He joked, "You speak the truth when you're drunk. Isn't this your true self after drinking?"

"No, after I drink... I become a completely different person." Mingyao tried to explain, but even she herself found her explanation unbelievable, let alone Pei Siyu.

It's all Su Xueya's fault for making such a huge mess.

She might as well just go clubbing!

"oh?"

Pei Siyu's lips twitched twice, and his phoenix eyes curved into a smile.

He stared at Mingyao's feigned composure, casually tugged at the collar of her gray shirt, and lazily approached her.

The scent of pine and mint emanating from the man made Mingyao even more awake.

Mingyao kept her head down the whole time, as if a thousand-pound weight was pressing on her neck, and she dared not lift it.

Suddenly, Pei Siyu leaned close to her neck, sniffed for a moment, and his magnetic and alluring baritone voice boomed in her ear, "You said you were drinking, so why don't you smell of alcohol?"

His phoenix eyes reflected Mingyao's pale face, filled with intense curiosity and suspicion.

Mingyao was on the verge of tears, but she still had to remain calm. "Master Pei, this distance is too close."

The two were only a fist's distance apart, and Pei Siyu's gaze was particularly sharp, as if he could see right through her.

Mingyao moved two steps to the side without changing her expression, putting distance between herself and Pei Siyu.

Suddenly, her lower back tightened, Mingyao's eyes widened, and her heart stopped beating.

She was like a startled rabbit, crashing into the man's strong, broad chest.

Pei Siyu stared straight at Mingyao. The bewilderment and fear in her eyes seemed genuine, completely different from what she had shown in the afternoon.

Was she drunk?

"Master Pei, what are you doing?"

Mingyao tried to calm herself down, but she couldn't control her physical reactions.

From the moment Pei Siyu hugged her, her cheeks and body became uncontrollably hot, and her heart pounded wildly.

Mingyao didn't like this feeling.

She pressed her pale hand against Pei Siyu's chest and murmured, "I'm scared."

A hint of amusement flickered in Pei Siyu's cold, dark eyes. "Scared?"

He held Mingyao tightly around the waist, forcing her upper body to press against his chest.

Weren't you scared when you hugged me this afternoon?

"Didn't you want to seduce me? Now I'll give you the chance."

A loud buzzing sound exploded in Mingyao's ears, and her mind went completely blank.

Has Pei Siyu gone mad?

Didn't he dislike women using tricks to seduce him? Why is he doing this to him...?
