"You dare to talk back?"
Xiao Yingying stood with one hand on her hip, the other hand pounding on the blackboard, her voice sharp and stern:
"Today's homework is to copy 'Free and Easy Wandering' twenty times. As for Ling Mo, I'll have to copy it fifty times and hand it in to my office before self-study tomorrow morning."
“Teacher, aren’t you being a bit too harsh on Ling Mo? She got first place in the grade, which proves that her basic skills are quite solid. There’s no need for her to do this kind of useless work.” Cheng Chengyi sternly refuted Xiao Yingying’s aggressive words.
Xiao Yingying felt even more disappointed after being verbally abused by Cheng Cheng, and said sarcastically:
"Hmph... Our famous top student in the grade actually lost forty points in Chinese, and didn't even get the simplest dictation question right. If I'm not strict with her, people who don't know the situation will think I didn't teach her well."
Ling Mo looked speechlessly at Xiao Yingying, who had delivered herself to his doorstep and was about to retaliate when the door to Class F's classroom was pushed open by a group of strangers in uniforms.
The unfamiliar man who was the first to step into Class F classroom glanced around at the students, finally fixing his gaze on Xiao Yingying, who was standing on the podium with an air of authority. His voice carried a hint of seriousness:
"Are you Ms. Xiao Yingying, the homeroom teacher of Class F in the senior year?"
"It's me, what's wrong?"
Xiao Yingying's gaze faltered slightly when she saw the Education Bureau's work ID hanging on the man's chest, and her heart suddenly raced.
"Here's the thing, we received a formal complaint from a student of your school, accusing you of physically punishing students. Please come with us."
"Nonsense!"
Xiao Yingying crossed her arms and said confidently, "As a homeroom teacher, I have always been very careful about my words and actions, and I try my best to treat every student fairly and justly. How could I possibly punish students arbitrarily?"
Upon hearing this, the lead staff member simply played the video of Ling Mo being punished by running on the playground on his phone: "Look, what is this?"
Xiao Yingying was surprised that Ling Mo had sent the video of her being forced to run as punishment to the Education Bureau. She was angry, but even more so, she felt guilty.
She glanced at Ling Mo, who was running very easily in the video, and stammered, "No... I only made her run two laps, how can that be considered corporal punishment? Look at how she ran without even turning red or out of breath, she was obviously doing it with ease, I didn't make things difficult for her."
“Teacher Xiao Yingying, you’re not right to say that. Making a student run as punishment for not doing well on a test is not normal and could very likely affect the student’s mental health. Furthermore, as far as we know, you made the student run ten laps in one go. Such intensity could easily lead to an accident without professional guidance.”
"I..."
Xiao Yingying was so nervous that her face turned pale. She wanted to explain, but the video was so convincing that she couldn't utter a single word.
Left with no other choice, she could only hang her head and slink out of the F class classroom with the education bureau staff.
