The first thing Cheng Zhengjun saw was his own frail little sister carrying two bags of flour, looking completely bewildered.
Then, when she caught a glimpse of the person next to her out of the corner of her eye, her pupils dilated in shock.
This face.
Without even guessing, Cheng Zhengjun knew that this was his long-lost younger sister, Zhou Sui. He just didn't expect to meet her under these circumstances.
She was not what Cheng Zhengjun had imagined. He had thought she would have a sallow complexion, dull and lifeless eyes, and be short.
But Zhou Sui in front of me is tall and fair-skinned, wearing the most fashionable clothes of the moment, and has big, bright eyes. She really looks like she's been well taken care of.
Cheng Zhengjun strode towards the two of them. Cheng Yue pouted unhappily, thinking to herself, "Why did they come so quickly?"
"Zhou Sui, hello, I am your older brother Cheng Zhengjun."
The person in front of me was gentle and polite, extending his palm towards me.
Big brother? Huh?
Zhou Sui didn't break her rules either. She extended her hand and gently shook his for a moment before letting go, her expression indifferent. "Hello."
It was obvious to anyone with eyes that she wasn't very interested.
"You know me?" Cheng Zhengjun was very surprised. He was surprised that Zhou Sui was not surprised at all by the appearance of her older brother.
"It's quite a surprise that I know you," Zhou Sui thought to herself.
"I'm busy with things at the shop, so I won't entertain you two any longer. Please make yourselves at home." Zhou Sui said, then walked towards the counter. She was busy at the moment and didn't have time to deal with these two people.
Cheng Zhengjun was tall with a fair complexion and prominent features. He wore gold-rimmed glasses and a beige sweater. When he stood in the store with his hands in his pockets, he instantly attracted the attention of many women, and some even secretly sized him up and started discussing him.
Cheng Zhengjun never expected his first meeting with his sister to be like this. Zhou Sui was completely different from what he had imagined. He had always thought that his father's words yesterday were a bit exaggerated, but after meeting her today, he felt that his father's words were not profound enough.
"I'm not leaving. I want to stay here and help my sister." Cheng Yue knew that Cheng Zhengjun had definitely come to take her back, but she didn't want to leave. What was the point of going back to that place?
She's constantly being followed around, being told not to do this or that; it's incredibly annoying.
Cheng Zhengjun's purpose in coming here was indeed to take Cheng Yue away, but now he has suddenly become interested in this biological younger sister he has never met before, and the shop she runs.
"Let's wait here for a bit, Mom and Dad will be here soon."
Cheng Yue then smiled happily, "Did you bring any money? I want to eat that sweet one." As she spoke, she pointed to the table next to her.
Cheng Zhengjun followed her gaze and saw a plate of what looked like cookies on the table, along with two cups, the contents of which he couldn't tell.
The table was occupied by two girls who had been glancing at Cheng Zhengjun every now and then since he sat down. Now that he was looking at them, both girls blushed.
When Cheng Yue heard that she wanted some, one of the girls even handed her a cookie, saying, "It was just served, we haven't touched it yet."
Cheng Yue's eyes were practically glued to it, but she had learned a lot in the past two days and knew that she couldn't just eat other people's food, so she looked at Cheng Zhengjun instead.
"Thank you, you can have it, we'll buy more." With Cheng Zhengjun's proud nature, he naturally wouldn't accept food from others. After refusing the two girls, he walked towards the counter.
Cheng Yue, ever the tagalong, immediately followed. Zhou Sui ordered the food for them, and after Cheng Yue ordered several dishes in one go, Zhou Sui's hand stopped moving. She looked up at Cheng Yue and asked, "You can eat so much?"
"Then we don't want the second one." Cheng Yue glanced at her and said softly, clearly reluctant. After saying that, she noticed that Zhou Sui's hand hadn't moved yet, so she added, "We don't want the second one upside down either."
Cheng Zhengjun discovered that his younger sister, who was pampered at home, was like a little lamb in front of Zhou Sui, and had to carefully ask Zhou Sui's permission before eating anything.
This discovery made Cheng Zhengjun very uncomfortable. "If she wants to eat it, let her eat it."
"If you're unwilling to give her the food, I'll pay for it and buy it for her, okay?"
Seeing how hungry Cheng Yue looked just now, Cheng Zhengjun even doubted whether she had eaten anything at Zhou Sui's place after being there for half a day.
By the way, when I arrived, Cheng Yue was still helping Zhou Sui with her work.
Zhou Sui was about to cross out the last two desserts when she heard this, so she immediately put down her pen and looked at Cheng Zhengjun with a forced smile.
"Okay, is there anything else you'd like to order?"
A fool wouldn't take the money!
Cheng Yue immediately waved her hand and said, "No need, no need, there's enough to eat."
Cheng Zhengjun thought she was worried about Zhou Sui, so he patted her on the shoulder to comfort her, and then ordered several more desserts in one go.
Zhou Sui quickly wrote down her notes, and the account was completed the moment the pen touched the paper.
"Sixty-five in total."
This meal alone could be equivalent to ten or even half a month's living expenses for some students.
But Cheng Zhengjun wasn't short of money, so he readily took out his wallet and gave her the money. Zhou Sui quickly found some change for him from the drawer. "Please wait a moment."
Then he turned his head to greet the next customer, as if they were no different from ordinary customers.
Cheng Yue slumped back to her corner, head hanging low. "My sister must be angry," she muffled her voice.
"Why is she angry?" Cheng Zhengjun felt that he was the one who should be angry; Zhou Sui's attitude was truly awful.
"Have you not eaten anything yet?" Cheng Zhengjun looked at his younger sister, trying to see if her face was smaller to determine if Zhou Sui had given Cheng Yue any food.
