The following day at noon, Song Qi'an's car arrived at the Zhou family's gate on time.
Zhou Sui was already prepared, and she put on her coat as she walked out.
"Sui Sui, be careful on the road. Make sure to keep your money and bankbook close to your body." Grandma Zhou chased after her and whispered her instructions.
Now Zhou Sui has several thousand yuan on her, and she even brought the family's savings book with her. Ever since Zhou Sui got up, the old lady has been giving her a lot of advice.
"Don't worry, I keep the big money in my inner pocket. I only keep small change in my bag. I will never take out big money when there are many people around. I will also keep my bankbook safe."
"Don't worry, the passbook is here, and I'm here."
Zhou Sui practically patted her chest to assure the old lady.
"Pah, pah, pah, what are you saying, you little brat?"
"The passbook is a small matter. You need to be more careful in the city. Listen to Xiao Song more often. He has more experience and knows more than you."
The grandfather and grandson walked towards Song Qi'an, and he happened to hear those words.
"Grandma, don't worry, I will definitely take care of Sui Sui."
"I'm relieved to hear you say that. Sui Sui is a very opinionated girl, but she's still young. It's better to have you watching over her."
Grandma Zhou knew that her granddaughter was going to the city to look at shops, because shops in the city were comparable to those in the town.
Land in the city is incredibly valuable, and Grandma Zhou was worried that her granddaughter would be scammed.
"When the time comes, Sui Sui should listen to your brother Qi An more."
Zhou Sui pursed her lips and didn't say anything. Her grandmother was really worried about her. It wasn't her first time going to the city.
"Did you hear me? I told you to listen to me." Song Qi'an could tell from the way her eyes were darting around that she was definitely not convinced.
He deliberately wanted to tease Zhou Sui, and Zhou Sui wouldn't dare say no in front of Old Madam Zhou.
Sure enough, under Grandma Zhou's watchful gaze, Zhou Sui gritted her teeth and said, "I heard you, Brother Qi'an."
How naive! Zhou Sui thought to herself.
The naive Song Qi'an was in a great mood, and the headache he had been suffering from after drinking seemed to be relieved in the blink of an eye.
The two got into the car one after the other, and only after the car left did Grandma Zhou turn back.
"Hey, who was driving just now?" After walking a few steps, I ran into Granny Wang, who was resting on a rock.
Last time, when Granny Wang came to the Zhou family to cause trouble, she was thrown out by the Zhou family. For several days, she cursed the Zhou family every day. When Old Lady Zhou found out, she rushed to the door and wanted to tear Granny Wang's mouth apart.
Wang Pozi immediately felt guilty and shrank into the room, not daring to say a word. Instead, Zhou Laotai pointed at the door and cursed her.
After that, she would avoid Grandma Zhou whenever she saw her, but today, for some reason, she even took the initiative to talk to her.
"What's it to you?" Old Mrs. Zhou found her annoying. If the Wang family weren't notorious deadbeats, she would have slapped this old woman twice to clear her head.
Old Mrs. Zhou ignored Granny Wang and went inside, closing the door behind her.
Granny Wang spat out a mouthful of water toward the Zhou family's door, her old face, as withered as tree bark, scrunched up tightly.
"Do you think I don't know? That Zhou girl has hooked up with a rich man."
She didn't recognize license plate numbers, otherwise she would have known the car belonged to Song Qi'an.
When Granny Wang arrived, she saw Zhou Sui lower the car window and wave to Old Lady Zhou.
The driver was a man, but she couldn't see what he looked like.
"They even said they'd raise her like their own daughter; that's just a nice way of putting it."
"Look at how pretty Zhou Sui is, she's perfect for hooking up with a rich guy."
"If I didn't know these things, I'd spit on it."
Granny Wang was a maid in a landlord's house in the old days. In her time, maids with a bit of beauty all wanted to get close to their masters and live a good life.
Having had such an experience, she naturally assumed that others would experience the same thing.
"Dream on! You want to hook up with a rich man? I'll never allow it."
As Granny Wang muttered to herself, her eyes suddenly turned sinister.
"She ruined my son, that wretched girl Zhou Sui won't have a good life!"
Zhou Sui, who had already left the village, suddenly sneezed, and Song Qi'an asked her with concern.
"Have you caught a cold?"
Zhou Sui rubbed her nose. "No."
Song Qi'an took a moment to glance at her clothes; she was indeed dressed rather warmly today.
"I'll go to your shop to get some hot water later."
"Okay." Zhou Sui thought he was the one who wanted hot water.
"By the way, my dad made you drink so much yesterday, is your stomach okay?" Zhou Sui felt a little guilty when she talked about it.
I didn't notice this last night either, otherwise I could have stopped Zhou Dayong's actions.
She looked at Song Qi'an's expression today, and it seemed no different from usual.
"It's okay. After drinking the hangover soup you gave me yesterday, I slept it off and everything was fine."
Aside from stomach aches from not eating on time, Song Qi'an didn't have any major problems with drinking. He knew how to control himself and had plenty of ways to avoid drinking when he felt he had reached his limit.
"Drank it all?" Zhou Sui was taken aback. "You finished the whole bottle of hangover soup?"
"Hmm, didn't you give it to me to drink?" Moreover, Zhou Sui cooked it herself, and Song Qi'an treasured it so much. After finishing the hangover soup, he washed the bottle and put it in the room.
Zhou Sui recalled what she had said yesterday; it seemed that she had told them to go back and drink it while it was hot, not that she had told Song Qi'an to drink it while it was hot alone.
"What's wrong?" Song Qi'an noticed that Zhou Sui's expression was a little off.
Could it be that Song Qi'an was too drunk yesterday and didn't hear what I said clearly?
Never mind, it's just a hangover soup, not alcohol. Drinking too much shouldn't be a problem. Right now, Song Qi'an is sitting right next to her driving.
