Zhou Mei was very happy to hear this.
“Brother…” Zhou Mei murmured.
The two gazed at each other affectionately, then began to savor this rare moment of intimacy.
Li Yi didn't linger any longer, and clothes fluttered around the room like snowflakes.
A moment later, the two successfully paired up and began to have an in-depth conversation.
The temperature in the room rose considerably as a result.
However, Zhou Mei was very nervous in this environment, worried that her mother might come back at any time, so she tried her best to cooperate with Li Yi.
Ten minutes later, Zhou Mei shuddered; she had arrived.

Just as they finished getting dressed, Li Yi and Zhou Mei heard the door open.
The two knew that Qin Suyun had returned.
Zhou Mei's face was flushed as she headed towards the door, but her legs felt weak and she almost fell. Fortunately, Li Yi reacted quickly and caught her.
The two sat back down on the sofa.
Just then, Qin Suyun's voice came from outside the door: "Mei'er, Li Yi, I'm back. I bought your favorite dishes, and sugarcane too!"
Upon hearing this, Zhou Mei quickly tidied her clothes and hair, then stood up to greet her mother.
"Mom, you're back. Come in quickly," Zhou Mei said, a hint of embarrassment and shyness on her face.
As soon as Qin Suyun entered the room, she saw her daughter's somewhat unnatural expression and immediately understood what was going on.
She thought the two young people couldn't help but hug and kiss, but she didn't expect that they had already had a deep conversation in so long.
Qin Suyun smiled, put the vegetables in the kitchen, and placed the sugarcane on the coffee table.
"You guys eat the sugarcane first, I'll go cook some dishes," Qin Suyun said, then turned and went into the kitchen.
Zhou Mei watched her mother's departing figure and breathed a sigh of relief.
She turned to look at Li Yi and whispered, "Brother, you scared me to death just now. How embarrassing would it be for Mom if she saw us like that?"
Li Yi smiled and said, "I didn't see it, did I? The timing was just right."
Zhou Mei blushed upon hearing this.
She took a piece of sugarcane from the bag, held it to Li Yi's mouth, and said, "Here, the sugarcane you like to eat."
Li Yi took a bite, biting off half a piece of sugarcane. It was very sweet. He said, "You should eat some too!"
Zhou Mei put the remaining half into her mouth; it was indeed very sweet.
She already considered Li Yi her man, so she didn't care whether Li Yi had bitten into the sugarcane.
Li Yi looked at Zhou Mei and smiled. This is what a gentle girl should be like.
A moment later, Qin Suyun came out of the kitchen and said, "The vegetables are washed, and I'll start cooking. You guys chat for a while; dinner will be ready soon."
"Okay, Mom!"
"Okay, Auntie!"
Li Yi and Zhou Mei responded, then continued eating snacks and chatting in the living room.
Time flies, and before we knew it, it was time for dinner.
Qin Suyun prepared a large and sumptuous meal, all of which were her specialties, including braised pork, steamed fish, garlic greens, scrambled eggs with tomatoes, and a big pot of steaming old hen soup.
Qin Suyun smiled and took off her apron, saying, "Dr. Li, Mei'er, come and eat, try my cooking."
"Wow, Mom, you made so much delicious food!" Zhou Mei exclaimed in surprise, her eyes already fixed on the old hen soup.
Li Yi looked at it and said, "It looks delicious. Auntie, you are so skillful."
The three of them sat around the dining table and began to enjoy their dinner.
In fact, Qin Suyun had already cooked a bowl of noodles for dinner before they arrived, but now that Li Yi was there, she ate some along with them.
Qin Suyun would occasionally serve food to Li Yi and ask him about his tastes and preferences.
"Dr. Li, how does it taste?"
Li Yi nodded repeatedly, agreeing that the taste was indeed excellent. He exclaimed, "It's delicious! Auntie, your cooking is superb!"
Zhou Mei: "Mom, you're being unfair! You keep putting food on Li Yi's plate and you've forgotten all about your daughter?"
Qin Suyun quickly put a piece of chicken on Zhou Mei's plate and said, "How could you? Come on, my dear daughter, eat some meat!"
Zhou Mei smiled and said, "Thank you, Mom. You should eat too. You've worked hard!"
The three of them sat together, enjoying the delicious dinner.
However, just as Li Yi and Zhou Mei finished eating, there was a loud banging on the door.
"Who is it?" Zhou Mei asked.
There was no response from outside the door; they just kept banging on it.
"Who?" Qin Suyun asked.
There was still no response from outside the door.
Qin Suyun and Zhou Mei exchanged a glance and immediately became nervous.
Could it be that Zhou Mei's father has come knocking on our door?
Previously, Qin Suyun was diagnosed with leukemia, but her family couldn't afford treatment. Her father was also a gambler who was never home and didn't care about Zhou Mei's mother at all.
Zhou Mei and her daughter acted as if he didn't exist and cut off all contact with him.
Could it be that he's come knocking again?
Qin Suyun and Zhou Mei didn't dare to open the door.
"Bang bang bang!!!"
There was a loud knocking at the door.
Li Yi asked, "Express delivery?"
Zhou Mei shook her head and said, "No, it might be my dad."
Li Yi: "Oh? Then hurry up and open the door!"
Zhou Mei waved her hand and said, "No way. My dad only wants money. He gambles, and he'll lose all his money no matter how much he has!"
Li Yi frowned. No wonder Zhou Mei and Qin Suyun had never mentioned her father. It turned out that their family relationship was so complicated.
However, Li Yi wasn't worried about his father doing anything while he was here.
