Chapter 2 The Goblin Priest is too scary!

"Commander, I've spotted the carriage."

A woman with pointed ears spoke to the communication magic stone in her hand: "Follow the direction I scattered the dust. There are many imps on the way, so please be careful."

She smoothed her hair and glanced at the three little goblins patrolling not far away.

"Understood, Karin. Go and confirm Princess Elsie's location first."

Karin shut down the magic stone and tried to get as close to the carriage as possible in the dim light. The tracking rune in her hand indicated that the Blood Stone was inside the carriage.

Elsie, the one bound to the Blood Stone, must also survive. If Elsie dies, the Blood Stone will be crushed by the internal inheritance array.

She took a breath, drew the dagger from her waist, applied a potent poison, and slowly crept toward the three goblins.

She had thoroughly scouted the area, and as a qualified scout, she wouldn't entrust her life to a careless goddess.

"One," Karin murmured, gagging a lone goblin and plunging her poisoned blade deep inside.

In the time it takes to breathe, the filthy green-skinned creature's limbs stiffened.

Karin's left hand trembled, and a faint tooth mark appeared on her skin.

If she hadn't been wearing leather gloves, the goblin would have bitten off her finger during its struggle!

"Chirp!" A goblin twitched his nostrils; he smelled the blood in the air.

Ignoring her injuries, Karin quickly coated the knife with poison and stabbed another goblin to death.

She was discovered by the last goblin, who dropped his weapon with a "whoosh" and tried to escape to other stone chambers to inform on her.

But Karin won't give him that chance.

"Night raid!"

Karin's eyes flashed red, and her whole body was covered in black spiritual energy. She transformed into a gust of wind and instantly intercepted the last little devil halfway.

Only after gazing at the lifeless body of the little devil did she feel relieved enough to sprinkle the corpse powder.

"Ouch!" Karin covered her eyes. "It was still too much of a stretch."

Night Raid is a skill for advanced professional assassins. Her master saw that she had good aptitude and taught her the skill in advance. Although she could use it, its effects on her were still very obvious.

"Alright, we've taken over the stone chamber now. I hope the captain and the others arrive soon. I still can't stand the smell here," Karin said, pinching her nose.

She checked her surroundings again to make sure there was no danger, then opened the carriage door and her eyes met those of the baby girl in front of her.

"This... vampire!?" Karin's eyes widened.

Ji Xiao's teeth were so prominent that Kailin recognized him at a glance.

"Heh heh, this is really interesting." Karin suddenly grinned wickedly again: "The appearance of a vampire in the Sia family is making this whole thing more and more interesting."

A few days ago, the Black Dog Mercenary Group, to which Kailin belonged, received a bounty from the Shia family, requiring them to rescue Elsie, who had been taken away by the Tilan family.

The story of Elsie is already known throughout the noble circles of the Southern Empire.

During her adventure, Windsor, the eldest daughter of the Shia family, met Ellen, the eldest son of the Tilan family. After a life-or-death battle, the two developed feelings for each other and gave birth to Elsie.

However, the patriarch of the Sia family suddenly launched an attack on the Tilan family overnight, and the patriarch of the Tilan family also urgently recalled his eldest son.

Unaware of the current situation, the two had no choice but to entrust Elsie to Baron Galli's care.

The story gets even more interesting from here on out!

After returning to their respective families, Count Ellen and Count Windsor suddenly gathered a large number of troops and started a war at the border between their two family territories.

Earl Ellen secretly persuaded Baron Galli to defect, leading his entire clan to relocate and return to the Tiran family with Elsie.

Unexpectedly, they were ambushed by assassins from the Shia family, and Elsie's whereabouts became unknown.

The Shia family had been kind to the Black Dog Mercenary Group when it was first established, and the leader, Peder, volunteered to take on the task of finding Elsie.

Although Karin did not agree to participate in this family conflict, there are always benefits and dangers, but the leader's grateful nature forced her to agree.

“No wonder the two families fought because of you.” Karin gently touched Elsie, who was Ji Xiao’s face.

She wasn't worried about being bitten by Elsie. How could a level 12 scout like her be hurt by a level 0 unclassed vampire?

"But it's strange, the Tilan family claims to be descendants of heroes, and the Shia family are royal family members, so how could they have a vampire?"

Ji Xiao looked at Kailin, who was talking to herself and lost in thought, and wondered why an elf would appear in the goblin's nest.

That's right, an elf with pointed ears!

Name: Karen (Female)

Races: Elf (62%), Human (38%)

Age: 15 years and 3 months

Occupation: Scout

In fact, she was a half-elf.

"I can tell!" Elsie thought to herself.

At this moment, Kairin reached out and picked her up, stuffing the palm-sized Bloodstone into Elsie's clothes.

“Alright, little Elsie, I’ll take you home!” Karin said with a smile.

To be honest, with Kairin by your side, you can easily wreak havoc in the goblin lair. She'll handle the wrecking, and you'll handle the 'haw' (killing).

Elsie: ▼_▼

...

Although the narrator was sarcastic, his judgment was indeed correct. At least along the way, Elsie had witnessed Karin's combat experience.

At this moment, you marvel at this scout's exceptional fighting spirit. Growing up under the tutelage of the master assassin Bernard, she is destined to become a formidable assassin.

Not to mention, having traveled extensively with the Black Dog Mercenary Group, her combat skills have surpassed most of her peers, and she may soon become a legendary figure on the continent.

"Huh?" Elsie was being held in Kairin's arms, surprised by the serious explanation given by the narrator.

"Why did you suddenly change your art style again!?"

I would never add insult to injury to someone who is dying.

"Is that how you use this word!?"

Wait a minute? A dying man?

Elsie's Bloodstone suddenly heated up, and a crimson thread connected to the depths of darkness.

"What's that?" Elsie saw a small outline.

[As you look closely, you see a goblin priest using invisibility magic attempting to cast a spell on you.]

"Holy crap! Holy crap! Get out of the way!"

Elsie pushed Karin's face, but could only make "ee-yah" sounds.

Karin patted her head and said, "Don't worry, Elsie, we'll be able to reunite with the captain and the others soon."

Elsie was devastated. This person completely misunderstood her meaning. Anyone who looked in the direction she was pointing would have noticed the anomaly!

[The goblin priest unleashed a vine-entanglement attack on Kaelin. This narrator is taking precautions and logging off now!]

"You can do that?!"

Suddenly, several vines appeared at Karen's feet and instantly wrapped around her legs!
