The capital city of Shengfa was bustling with activity, especially with the gathering of talented students from various cities, which added even more vitality.
The next day, after Ellie and Daisy registered their information with the principal, they took a carriage with Liz and Grandma Daisy and headed towards the Ice Cream Mercenary Group's base.
The capital city is too big. It would be very slow without a carriage. Besides, riding is prohibited in the city. Using docile wildebeest or docile oxen to pull the carriage is not slow at all.
"Grandma Daisy, are you really not going to live with us?" Liz hugged her arm, looking very reluctant to leave.
"There are too many rules over there, and I'm not used to living there. Besides, I'm getting old, and it'll be more convenient for me to live outside." Looking at the unfamiliar streets outside, it was no longer the Holy City of my memories.
“Grandma, would you like to go back and visit? I can send someone to inquire about our old relatives,” Ellie asked.
"No need for that. I'll just stay with the mercenary group, so I can visit you all from time to time." Daisy refused. She didn't want to cause any more trouble for Ellie, and it would be more peaceful with the mercenary group.
The two girls didn't say anything more, each holding the old man on either side, creating a heartwarming scene.
The three little ones huddled together, exchanging thoughts quietly, seemingly unaffected.
The mercenary group's base was a bit out of the way, in the southern part of the city, but not too far from the princess's residence, which was located in the center. It took about half an hour by horned carriage to reach the vicinity of the base.
It's a four-story building, quite ordinary in appearance, with limited surrounding space, making it seem rather cramped. The surrounding area is full of other houses.
As soon as I walked in, Emil came running over with several girls.
"Ellie, it's been so long! I knew you'd come today."
"Hello, Sister Emil." Ellie took her hand and followed her towards the room.
"Brother Fan, it's been a long time. Woohoo~, your levels have all surpassed mine." Little Fire Rain also flew over, and the four little ones gathered together again.
"Fire Rain, don't be sad. Follow me from now on, and your level will catch up with mine." Luo Fan quickly comforted her. The little girl had advanced earlier, but her level was only 33.
Xiaoxue quickly nodded in agreement.
During this period, Xiaoxue did not want to level up too quickly, so she stopped consuming Cold Marrow and her level remained at 40.
"Really?" The little elf looked pitiful, her small eyes filled with tears.
"Of course!" With that, Luo Fan led the little one into an empty room, stuffed something good into her mouth, and said, "Swallow it quickly!"
After eating, a tremendous magical power spread through the little elf's body, startling her so much that she quickly sat down to meditate.
"Brother Fan, is that demon milk?" Xiaoxue and Xianxian had already sensed that aura.
"Hmm, I guess it's because Emil is relatively poor and doesn't have much magic milk. Fairy, do you want some? I have some more."
"No, it doesn't taste good!" Xianxian shook her head in refusal, looking a little disgusted.
Well, as expected of a rich girl, she doesn't even look at this stuff. That makes sense, too much of this stuff can easily deplete one's magic power, so it's normal for Xianxian to look down on it.
Toria kept her eyes on the little creatures, and she noticed what Luo Fan was feeding the fire spirit, but she didn't say anything.
This slime is so generous! Won't Ellie beat him up if she finds out? Anyway, magic milk is a very precious thing. Even after the last production surge, the price has never dropped.
Inside the room, Ellie, Emil, Daisy, and Tifa were discussing the mercenary group, while Lofan's clone was also present.
"So, the sale was outsourced?"
“Yes, this way we can not only make money, but also focus on developing other desserts. The girls in the group don’t like to show their faces in public, mainly because there are too many nobles in the city,” Emil explained. She had no choice but to give up some of the profits.
"This girl really has a knack for business. I feel very reassured leaving the merchant group in her care," Luo Fan praised from the side.
"Ellie, don't worry, I still have the core secrets of the group. Those people are just here to buy goods; whether they can sell them or not is none of our business." Emil added, afraid Ellie would worry.
"If that's the case, then that's good. After all, the safety of the members is the most important thing. Our mercenary group is now at level 3. I'll go to the guild to hand over the reins later."
"Yes, the members who came yesterday already said they were very happy. Tifa also brought a new training method, and the members are training in the back now."
Emil was very happy; the mercenary group was being managed better and better by them.
"Aili, should we continue recruiting members here?"
"Of course, Tifa can handle this, with Cecilia and Arthur working together."
Tifa nodded quickly; they had always been responsible for the personnel scheduling and training of the team members.
"Then, would you like to see the bills? I've prepared them all. We spent a lot of money on buying the house this time, but we've made it back over the past few months."
"Sister Emil, I believe you. Has the group discovered any new delicious foods? Take us to try them!"
After finishing their business, the girls became lively again. It was a bit of a shame that Angela wasn't there.
Luo Fan placed the little fire rain on his head and followed along with a group of girls.
"Luo Fan, what's wrong with Huo Yu?"
"He's drunk, he'll be fine in a bit."
“Oh.” Ellie didn’t suspect anything. Toria, on the other hand, pulled the somewhat worried Emil aside and whispered a few words to her, and then her face returned to a bright smile.
Letting her pet follow that slime wasn't such a bad thing after all. After all, her family simply couldn't afford that much magic milk; the ones she got in Sacred Heart City had already been squandered by her father.
Emil felt like she was clinging to Ellie's coattails, and was prepared to stick to her tightly. Didn't she see that Daisy's Little Snow was already level 40?
Happy times always pass quickly. After tidying up, Ellie led the group to the guild headquarters in the city, where a very capable butler greeted them.
"Hmm, the handover letter is correct. Are you sure you want to exercise the authority of a Level 3 mercenary group? However, there are some information I can only tell the leader and deputy leader."
“Confirmed.” Ellie nodded. Daisy, as the nominal vice-captain, also stayed behind.
Not long after, a middle-aged woman walked in, and she seemed very polite.
"You must be Ellie. We have received confirmation from President Joseph. This is the manual for a Level 3 mercenary group. Please do not leak it."
"Thank you." Ellie accepted it politely.
"By the way, my name is Lysa, it's nice to meet you. I've heard about your deeds, and President Joseph speaks very highly of you," Lysa said with a smile. "You can come to me with any questions you may have in the future, and the President also thinks highly of you."
Ellie was somewhat flattered, but still shook hands with the other person solemnly to express her gratitude.
The deacon who was handling the matter glanced at her and became even more polite. Someone who had caught the attention of the Grand Master couldn't be treated with her current status.
Luo Fan idly flipped through the manual, and information on dozens of dungeons appeared before his eyes, some of which were even marked as undeveloped.
"Wow, it feels like there's money everywhere. My lovely friends in the capital, Grandpa Luo is here!"
