Chapter 108 The Princess's Treasure Room

Lysa stared in disbelief at the slime's movements.

This little guy is far too smart; he can even recognize words! Even the butler on the side was dumbfounded. Could it be that Ellie's ability to train pets is really that strong?

After a brief discussion about the monthly tasks the mercenary group needed to complete, Ellie led everyone away.

"Aili, when are we going to the dungeon, oh, and the secret realm too? It looks like so much fun," Luo Fan urged.

"We should at least wait until the ranked matches end; they start again in a few days!"

"Oh, okay. I'll go find Xianxian then."

Back at the princess's residence, the girls began their routine training. As for Luo Fan, he had already slipped into the princess's study and was browsing the books there.

There isn't much information about the laws, but it does emphasize that only those who reach the level of a god can have the corresponding powers to utilize and modify existing rules.

So, since what's in Lis's eyes was obtained through sacrifice, it must have a corresponding source. Could it be that this world contains some special planes, including the realm of gods?

If one can obtain the laws through sacrifice, then why are there no records of the God of Law for hundreds of years? Luo Fan couldn't figure it out yet; he'd investigate further later.

Now that we've moved to the princess's place, our safety should be guaranteed. We need to sort out what needs to be done next.

With that thought in mind, Luo Fan took out a quill pen and started drawing in the booklet.

1. Liss advances; there's a light-elemental secret realm nearby. It's easy and a short-term goal.

2. Xiaoxue's advancement requires researching information and investigating hidden families. The difficulty is unknown, and it is a long-term goal.

3. Condense clones of other attributes; simple, short-term goal.

4. Find other transformation materials; unknown difficulty; long-term goal.

Looking at the four points he had written down, Luo Fan thought for a while and found them too abstract, so he added some branches to the side as a guide for future actions.

Then, a lot of other random things were added, such as the cultivation of Purple Feather, the research on spatial elements, the analysis of Ice Cone Magic, the collection of other inscription materials, and the purchase of scrolls, etc.

After writing a whole bunch of stuff, I suddenly didn't know what to do next. Annoying. I tossed the booklet into my usual ring and started randomly flipping through the books here.

Behind the manor, many girls, including members of the Knights and a princess, were undergoing intensive training.

“It’s better to have fun together!” Caitlin said with a smile, wiping the sweat from her brow.

"Your Highness, will you participate in this ranking battle again?"

Caitlin is currently a third-year student at the First Magic and Martial Arts Academy in the Holy Capital. She will graduate after this ranking battle ends.

After graduation, there won't be as much free time; I'll need to get involved in specific tasks.

"I'm not going, it's pointless. I'll just go and see for myself when the time comes! My father has already assigned me a mission; I'll be going to Holy Sea City after graduation."

Seeing Xianxian and Xiaoxue playing happily, the princess couldn't bear to separate them again.

"Is it still that matter?"

The princess didn't speak, but just watched Ellie and Daisy training not far away, and said nothing more.

She actually wanted to bring Ellie along, mainly because of the clever slime. Duke Simmons had already told her that the slime was skilled at tracking and investigation, making it very convenient to use.

It just so happens that I'm going to Saint Sea City to investigate the information on the Haifier Empire. With this help, I estimate I'll be able to find something out soon.

When Caitlin carefully reviewed the investigation documents submitted by Saint Sea City, she realized that the other party was concealing some information.

The empire appears peaceful and prosperous, but it actually has many problems, especially the fact that the emperor wants to reclaim the rights that his ancestors relinquished.

"Huh, where's that slime? He shouldn't be here, right?" Looking at the slime in Liz's arms, it seemed that it hadn't moved at all.

"Oh, he went to the study. Daisy said he's been looking for information on how the Snow Maiden can break through level 50."

"The Snow Maiden's advancement? Shouldn't it be as simple as Fairy's? What's so difficult about that~" She didn't say it aloud, as if she had thought of something.

Humanoid pets are intelligent, but historically, there are very few successful contracts, and almost none have been raised to level 51. However, her fairy doesn't have this problem; as long as there are enough resources, she almost never gets stuck at a certain level.

"Also, I heard that the slime wants to transform into a human," Toria added, adding that Daisy had told her all of this.

Caitlin didn't know what to say; transforming into a human was much more difficult than advancing in rank. That slime was really ambitious, actually wanting to become a god of the slime race.

Is it possible for such a weak race to become a god?

She thought of a book she found in the school library, which made a rather bold hypothesis and even listed some examples. It seemed quite plausible, but she didn't know who the author was.

"I'll go check on the study. You keep practicing." With that thought, Caitlin left.

Inside the study, several slimes were intently flipping through different books at a rapid pace. Their activity only subsided when Caitlin appeared.

"Is this how you read books?" Caitlin was stunned.

"Yes, this is more efficient. We can just filter out messages we don't want to see," one of the clones wrote on the paper.

"I'm so envious of you. Did you find the information you wanted?"

“No, but some books look quite interesting.” Luo Fan pointed to a book that one of his clones was reading, “The Wonderful Journey of the Flower Maiden.”

Caitlin blushed instantly. There were some unspeakable things in that book, and she never expected that this guy would dig them up.

"The princess seems to like it very much too. I noticed you've read it more than once."

Caitlin wished she could disappear into a hole in the ground. Her little secret had been discovered by such a clever fellow; how embarrassing!

"I have some books on advanced techniques in my collection, would you like to take a look?" He quickly changed the subject, snatched the book, and put it into his ring.

"We must see it."

Activate a nearby mechanism, enter the corresponding secret code, and a hidden space appears before Luo Fan.

"Wow, no wonder they're royalty, even their treasury is so well hidden."

“Little one, don’t come near here easily. The space won’t open without me by your side,” Caitlin explained with a smile.

"Oh, with such tight security measures, those thieves must be crying their eyes out," Luo Fan thought to himself as he followed her into the secret room.

"So many treasures!" Luo Fan stared wide-eyed, completely mesmerized. The dazzling array of spiritual materials, crystals, and scrolls made me feel utterly poor compared to her.

In front of a small bookshelf, Caitlin handed over a very familiar book.

Holy crap, isn't this the old witch's book? How come it's here too?

Luo Fan glanced at it and then tossed it aside.

“You want to transform into human form, right? I think this book should be very helpful to you.” Caitlin looked at him curiously.

"I've already read it, and I've even met its author."

"Huh? You know who the author is?"

"You should know her too." I was just about to write it down when I suddenly thought of the old witch's temper. If she pursued this matter later, wouldn't I suffer a terrible fate?

“However, I promised to keep it a secret from her, so I can’t reveal her name,” Luo Fan added later.

Caitlin suddenly realized that this slime was no ordinary slime; its sharp little eyes were full of intelligence.

“I can’t just leave it at that. At least I know this person is alive. Take a look at these remaining books. They contain information I’ve collected over the years about humanoid pets.”

"Yes, Your Highness, thank you very much." Luo Fan summoned his clones to take action, and at the same time, he saw a shelf with many scrolls on it.

Luo Fan's little thoughts started racing again.
