Chapter 58 Airi VS Xiaoxue

After eating and drinking her fill, Ellie seemed to have forgotten about beating up Luo Fan, and led Liz to find Daisy, who was staying next door.

Daisy had been staying here all this time, checking on Liz from time to time. Seeing the two young ladies growing up happily, the old cook's face was filled with smiles.

"Going to the capital? It's been almost twenty years since I left there with Miss."

"Does Grandma want to go back?"

"I used to really want to, but if I went back now, I doubt anyone would recognize me."

In Ellie's memory, Daisy never mentioned her family, and she rarely even mentioned the City of Holy Law. Ellie knew very little about her past.

“Miss Ellie, you can make your own arrangements. I’m so old, it doesn’t matter whether I go back or not. I’m just happy to see you all growing up well.”

"Grandma!" Liz pulled her arm and leaned on her shoulder. Back when they were at home, Daisy was always by her side, spending more time with her than her sister.

"Grandma, do you know why Mother was kicked out of the family?"

"Sigh, I know a little bit. It happened in Sacred Heart City, during the Sacred Heart Festival." Daisy sighed, recalling the incident that had occurred in the past.

"The young lady brought Duke Glenn's favorite son to participate in the Mysterious Realm of Inquiry, but an accident occurred, and the child never came out. It was later discovered that hostile forces shot and killed him in the Mysterious Realm, causing a very bad impact."

"In the end, the young lady took the blame and was expelled from the family by Duke Glenn. She never went back, even though she later personally destroyed that power."

Hearing the secrets of the past, Ellie felt a pang of sadness, unable to imagine what kind of burden her mother had carried back then, or how she had managed to persevere.

"As expected, that old witch is ruthless. I never imagined she would get married." Luo Fan thought of that figure and felt a little scared.

"Marquis Claire, you are indeed no ordinary person!"

"Luo Fan, you're not allowed to call my mother that anymore!" Hearing Luo Fan gossiping, Ai Li couldn't help herself and grabbed Luo Fan, kneading him forcefully.

"Yes, yes, that's it. Ellie, your massage technique has improved!"

Upon hearing this, and Luo Fan's sarcastic remark, Liz's tearful face immediately stopped crying, and a smile appeared on her face.

"Grandma Daisy, you get some rest. I'm going out to take care of something!" With that, Ellie grabbed Luo Fan and left angrily, with Liz following closely behind.

In the training field, Ellie grabbed a wooden stick and started beating Luo Fan mercilessly.

"You dare kiss me! You dare bully me! You dare insult my mother!"

Daisy, who had followed along, was stunned and discovered some shocking gossip. Ellie had actually kissed her pet!

But slimes don't have mouths, right? Apart from its tiny eyes, you can't see its mouth at all. How did it manage to kiss someone?

"Ellie, keep going, you're still too weak!" Luo Fan remained unfazed. He sensed a problem with the magical fluctuations emanating from Ellie.

Liz was about to try and persuade him further, but she stopped herself in her tracks. "Brother Fan is too naughty, don't make your sister angry, okay?"

"Ellie, push! Didn't we just eat?"

"You bastard, shut up! If you say another word, I'll lock you in the pet space!" Ellie got even angrier, but as she fought, she seemed to feel much better.

Luo Fan remained silent; he had already sensed the change in Ai Li's emotions. He hadn't expected that the connection with Ai Li seemed to have deepened considerably after the trial.

If the little girl can't release her pent-up emotions, it will harm her health, especially when she first wakes up. Sigh, I'm still too great.

Gradually, Ellie finally stopped, panting heavily. In the end, she hugged Luo Fan tightly and whispered a few words to him.

"Luo Fan, thank you!"

"Sigh, who told you to be my master?" Luo Fan thought of his own blissful state this morning, which he had only regained after intense training.

"The Ink Spirit Marrow still has too much aftereffect. Ellie, try your current meditation speed, it'll be incredibly fast!"

"Um."

"Ellie, what's wrong with you? You two fought and then made up?" Daisy asked curiously as she watched Ellie hug Luo Fan back into her arms.

They were fighting so hard just now, the stick even cracked. How did they suddenly make up?

"Hmm. Xiaoxue, can you train with me for a bit?" Ellie turned to look at Xiaoxue beside her. She felt that she was still very excited and needed to warm up.

Luo Fan had just spent a lot of effort to appease the angry Xue'er, but he didn't expect Ai Li to run into him like this.

"Brother Fan, no matter what, she bullied you! Xue'er will avenge you!" Xiao Xue walked over and handed the clone in her arms to Lis.

"Ellie, Xue'er is angry! Don't blame me for not warning you!"

"Ellie, are you really going to have a match with Xiaoxue?" Daisy knew how powerful her pet was, and looking at Ellie, who was acting unusually, she asked for confirmation.

"Yeah, I want to test my current limits. Don't worry, it'll be fine."

"Okay. Xiaoxue, be careful with your strength."

So, the snowball fight began, and Ellie even took out her magic staff.

As evening fell, the training ground lights came on, but the brightness was not suitable for training; it was still somewhat dim.

Once both sides were in position, a dozen snowballs quickly formed around Xiaoxue and hurtled towards Ellie.

"Wow! Xiaoxue's spiritual sense has become much stronger, and her casting speed and control have improved. She seemed to have been a bit restrained this morning." Luo Fan watched without stepping forward to stop her, after all, he had faced Xiaoxue's ice spikes this morning.

"Brother Fan, will Sister be able to dodge it?" Liz asked with some worry.

"I don't know. At most, I'll get hit by snowballs a few times, but it won't hurt much."

"Oh, that's good."

However, Luo Fan was unsure how Xiaoxue would react when she was angry.

In the dim light, Ellie moved nimbly, dodging the incoming snowballs. Every now and then, she shifted her position, changing her stance.

The magic was cast with remarkable smoothness and effortless control.

Xiaoxue's attacks became quite sharp; she even closed her eyes to sense Ai Li's changing position and continued to increase the speed of the snowball's movement.

One attacked, the other dodged, and then Ellie even thought of counterattacking. Shadow Assassin struck, attacking the snowball that she couldn't dodge.

Daisy was completely stunned. Her mouth was agape, and she stared in disbelief.

How did Airi become so strong? She can even compete with Xiaoxue now!

"It seems she's absorbing the Ink Spirit Marrow quite well, and her physical condition has improved as well. Let's see if there are any martial arts techniques suitable for her, at least to enhance her self-defense and counterattack capabilities."

"Hehe, who would have thought that Ellie, a magician, would also have learned martial arts?" Luo Fan pondered. He remembered that the protagonists in novels all had incredibly powerful self-defense skills, the kind that were practically invincible.

After the last incident, Luo Fan had been thinking about how to improve his master's self-defense capabilities, and unexpectedly, he found a breakthrough here.

With her small frame, Ellie has already achieved such a condition after being transformed by the spirit.

So, the next step is to wait for the Duke to bring those martial arts techniques.

Regardless, he definitely had to go to the capital; there must be a concrete way to materialize there. He felt the book he'd seen before wasn't comprehensive enough; if it missed something crucial in the end, he'd be devastated.
