Chapter 69 Reversing the Heavenly Gang

"What?! The Ice Shadow Dungeon has rioted again!" Joseph jumped up as soon as he received the news.

"Ah, Ellie went to the Ice Shadow Dungeon today!" Joanna panicked. "I have to go see her."

“Let’s go together. Also, inform Duke Simmons and Marquis Karaman.” After saying this, Joseph led Anna and the vanguard toward the underground city.

Upon hearing the news, the Duke looked as if he had seen a ghost. In the end, he still summoned his guards and rushed towards the underground city.

"Why does Ellie always cause such a commotion every time she goes to the dungeon? Go and inform the city lord so he can prepare in advance if something really happens to Ellie."

At the entrance of the Ice Shadow Dungeon, countless people rushed out, but fortunately, the guild sent people to maintain order, preventing a stampede.

Anna's heart was breaking when Joseph arrived.

Have you seen Ellie?

"President, we haven't found those girls! The riot has been temporarily quelled, and we've lit up the first three floors, so those shadow crocodiles haven't come out."

"Keep searching! Why are there so many Shadow Crocodiles? How much damage have we suffered this time?"

"We just finished counting, and dozens of people have gone missing!"

"Give me the list!" Joanna snatched the list, saw that Ellie's team's name was indeed on it, and collapsed to the ground.

"Find them! We need to see them alive or dead!"

"yes!"

Subsequently, dukes, marquises, and city lords arrived one after another, learned of the current situation, and successively dispatched high-level combat forces to advance towards the underground city.

On Ellie's side.

Xiaoxue and Daisy used ice to block the hole, and then several magicians continuously cast light spells, barely managing to escape the disaster.

But the continuous cries for help and screams that had been coming from earlier continued to agitate the girls' nerves, especially Ellie's.

"Those people who wanted to hunt us down, are they already...?" Daisy maintained the illumination spell, feeling a pang of pity.

"They're definitely beyond saving. They deserved it for trying to hurt us!" Angela said indignantly, her anger filled with righteous indignation.

"This beast tide must have caused considerable losses." The female guard looked at the motionless slime to the side and sighed.

It's obvious this guy was behind it. What exactly did he do to attract so many Shadow Crocodiles?

Looking back on my previous experiences, this is the third time. The first time was with the Ice Serpent, which almost killed me, and it was also related to it.

The second ice scorpion tide was also extremely dangerous, and it and Little Snow were the culprits. This time, however, all that came were Shadow Crocodiles.

This guy's suicidal tendencies are just too much. Luckily, this is a Shadow Crocodile, whose weaknesses are quite obvious. If it were an Ice Scorpion of the same level, we'd all be doomed.

Arthur also looked distressed. He had come with the young lady three times, and each time they encountered special circumstances.

Fortunately, these girls are all very smart; otherwise, even with many lives, it wouldn't be enough to cause them trouble.

Ellie remained silent, her expression conflicted. She stared quietly at the slime before her; it was only thanks to Luo Fan's final warning that she had managed to stay calm in the face of danger.

Those people are probably all dead, so won't innocent people be implicated? She seemed to hear that roar again.

I originally planned to subdue them and hand them over to the authorities, but this is what happened.

"Ellie, what's wrong?" Daisy hugged her.

"Did we... kill those people?" Ellie's expression was somewhat blank.

"They deserved it! If they hadn't hunted us down, they wouldn't have gotten into any trouble."

"But there are still so many innocent people outside." As she spoke, tears streamed down her face.

“Miss Ellie, we knew the path was dangerous when we decided to become adventurers. Even I was prepared to die at any moment.” Arthur said this, though he couldn’t bear to.

"Killing monsters, or being killed by monsters, is the fate of us adventurers." The female guard also came over.

"I know, but it's still very painful!" During her time as the signboard girl, she learned about the hardships of these adventurers, especially those who were seriously injured and forced to retire.

"Is becoming an adventurer really a good thing?"

"There's no good or bad in it. Only by becoming adventurers can we rise above others. If we go back to farming, we'll still face the threat of monsters in the end," Arthur explained.

"Many nobles obtained their status by killing certain magical beasts in their ancestors' lives. We also chose to become adventurers for our own sake."

"Ellie, we're all feeling terrible, and besides, it's not your fault," Emil said, pulling Ellie into her arms.

She knew some of Ellie's past experiences and that she was kind-hearted. Therefore, she guessed that, because of Luo Fan, Ellie seemed to attribute the cause of this beast tide to herself.

The sounds outside quickly subsided, and the tremors from underground ceased; the cave fell silent.

Gradually, Luo Fan finally completed his advancement, feeling refreshed and his magic core had grown even larger. He discovered that he had also completely mastered a certain kind of pressure-based ability, but he still hadn't comprehended magic.

After advancing, his overall strength improved significantly, including his magic power and ability to transform. He even felt he could fight the level 50 Shadow Crocodile he had faced before.

Since I can't learn magic, I'll just stick to being an assassin from now on.

Before it could even get excited, it sensed its master's low spirits. After Xiaoxue recounted what had happened, Luo Fan understood and loudly complained.

"You're just being dramatic. Why do you have to act like a saint? What do other people's lives or deaths have to do with you!"

"Besides, those people all wanted to kill you, and you're still thinking about them? You're just a complete scumbag!"

"You!" Ellie glared fiercely at her pet. You're the culprit this time.

"What do you mean, 'you'? Does that mean if someone covets your money, you have to give it to them? If they covet your body, do you have to take off your clothes? How shameless!"

"I would never do that!" Ellie shouted defiantly.

"Then why are you so upset? Just be a decent human being, or you'll have a hard time surviving in this world. You've chosen this profession, all sorts of unexpected things can happen, and you've been through it before."

"Besides, I didn't know it would cause a monster riot. I just went down to find some things, who knew that monster would be so stingy. But those Shadow Crocodiles probably won't stay outside for long. They prefer to live in those swamps, where the magic element is quite abundant."

"Besides, with the chairman's methods, the situation above must already be under control. What are you worrying about? Haven't you heard the warnings going off all along?"

"Besides, is this something you should be worrying about? Do only what you are capable of. You should know that you are just an ordinary adventurer."

"You're just worrying about things that don't concern you!"

Ellie was speechless after being criticized, staring wide-eyed, having forgotten what she was even agonizing over.

"Sure enough, she's a total slut, and she loves to overthink things." Luo Fan jumped back into Xiao Xue's arms, but Xiao Xue was still a little stunned and hadn't yet processed Luo Fan's string of words.

"You big bastard, you're the slut!" Ellie finally reacted and roared at Luo Fan.

"Ellie, did you two argue again?" Daisy quickly realized.

"That bastard made me angry, I wish I could bite him to death!"

"You're not allowed to bully Brother Fan!" Xiaoxue quickly condensed a line of words. Luo Fan's performance just now was really cool, but she couldn't understand some of them.

But seeing Ellie's behavior, she was certain it wasn't Fan's fault.

"Daisy, it's over, your Xiaoxue is completely smitten!" Ellie hugged Daisy, sighed, and realized her mistake. She had indeed overthought things, especially since the danger outside hadn't subsided.

"That's great! This way we can be together forever, hehe~"

Seeing Ellie regain her spirits, Emil breathed a sigh of relief. This situation definitely required drastic measures!

But isn't it a bit of a rebellion against the natural order for pets to treat their owners like this?
