The morning passed quickly.
Ellie quickly adapted to her job here. She registered and inventoried various monster materials and settled quest rewards.
Joanna was still very happy to see the little girl working hard and the clumsy slime helping her.
The young girl lacked the arrogance and laziness of a noblewoman, and her work efficiency had improved significantly, which pleased her greatly.
Ellie was in a bad mood, all because of some culprit.
"Aili, Aili, can we eat that fur?"
"Ellie, Ellie, there are magical elements on that branch!"
"Aili, Aili, I found a dark crystal. Can I lick it? It looks delicious."
"Shut up! If you bother me again, you're going to stay in the pet space!"
"Oh, okay! I'll help you then, my arms are very flexible." Then it messed up the documents it had just organized.
The only thing worth mentioning is that Luo Fan was very fast at taking inventory of the crystal cores, and he could even categorize them and clean them up himself, saving Joanna a lot of trouble.
After all, the crystal cores brought by these adventurers, piled together in various sizes, usually had a distinct bloody smell, and when you counted them, they had a foul odor, which was quite disgusting.
"Aili, I want to raise a slime! I'll tell the manager about your pet's abilities in a bit, and he'll definitely give you a raise."
"You don't know, the thing we hate doing the most is cleaning these magic cores. You're really our lucky star."
"Really? Thank you, Anna!" Ellie was also very happy. Who wouldn't like to earn more money?
Moreover, Luo Fan seems to really enjoy doing this.
Hehe, there's a lot of magic element in the blood of monsters too. It's much faster than meditating on your own, but it's a bit mixed up!
That big oaf, I ate one of his magic cores and he didn't even realize it, he was completely blinded by his grandeur!
If only they were all these big, dumb creatures, then we can forget about those magical materials for now; they're too bad!
With the opportunity to earn money and raise her pets, Ellie was even more motivated.
However, in the afternoon, Ellie's job changed. She helped another mascot clean the area, taking inventory of the magic cores that hadn't been cleaned before.
The inventory was just a matter of her cleaning up Luo Fan's magic cores and putting them into the corresponding magic bags; it was quite easy.
The speed of the cleaning astonished even the guild steward. In just two hours, all the stored crystal cores were cleaned out, cleaner than a human could wash.
The female mascots treated it like a treasure. They'd never have to clean magic cores again—could there be anything happier?
"Luo Fan, thank you!" Ellie was very happy on the way home.
I earned 4 silver coins today as a reward for clearing out my inventory of magic cores. Plus, my wages will double from now on, so I don't need to worry about food shortages for now.
"You're welcome! After all, you're my master! I get to eat, drink, and make money—I love it!"
"Hey, Ellie! Let's go back quickly, Liz isn't acting right!"
Since consuming that magic crystal, Luo Fan's perception and control over his clones have become even stronger.
"Oh, what's wrong?"
"Her face suddenly turned pale, her eyes became vacant, and she was groaning. Grandma Daisy wasn't there; she was probably cooking. My clone has already gone to find her."
"Liz, please don't let anything happen to you!" Alice ran over quickly.
Suddenly, a group of people rushed out from the dimly lit corner and blocked her way. The leader was Yasuo, who had been skipping school for a week.
"Aili, stop right there!"
"Yasuo, what do you think you're doing? Get out of my way and let me go back!"
“Go back? You humiliated me last time, and now you want to go back? Men, seize her pet! She has already left the Claire family and is now just a commoner without any status.”
"Yes, young master!"
Several people quickly moved forward, blocking Ellie's retreat, while a magician pointed his staff at her.
"Yasuo, what do you want to do? Aren't you afraid the school will find out?" Ellie asked anxiously, holding her pet.
"Heh, so what if the school finds out that a noble has destroyed a tiny slime? Unless you kneel down and beg me, I might consider just torturing it if you're willing to be my handmaid."
"Don't even think about it! I'd rather die than agree!" This experience has helped the girl mature a lot.
"Help!" Ellie had already pulled out her wand and summoned a shadow shield around her. Lovan, whom she was holding, had slid to the ground and, using the momentum, crashed into the nearest mage.
"Damn it, you brat, you actually dare to resist! Go! Take down that slime!"
Many passersby saw what was happening and curiously peered over.
"Hey, isn't that our little mascot, Ellie? Go tell Anna that someone's bullying her apprentice!"
"Hmm, there are too many of them. I'll go to the Adventurers' Guild for help!"
Several people who knew Ellie noticed something was wrong, exchanged a few words, and quickly left.
At this time, only a few rooms in the Adventurers' Guild still had their lights on, since the training rooms would remain open at night.
Inside a room, the guild steward was chatting happily with the vice guild leader.
"Guild Master Joseph, you have no idea how much help Ellie's slime has given us." Holding a small cup of bright red demon blood wine, the butler took a sip.
“I already know. I never thought slimes could be used like this. Ellie’s slime seems pretty smart; it’ll be our guild’s treasure from now on. Anna hasn’t complained, has she?” Arthur asked, also holding a wine glass.
"No, she really likes that little girl!"
"That's good."
Just then, shouts suddenly came from downstairs. Hearing the content of the shouts, the two men exchanged a glance, simultaneously put down their wine glasses, and rushed out.
Joanna, who was in the tavern at the time, also received the news and led a group of adventurers, rushing towards the area in a menacing manner.
"Which bastard dares to bully my disciple? Does he have a death wish?!"
On Ellie's side, Luo Fan's sudden attack sent the not-so-strong mage flying. While in the air, he even spat out a mouthful of saliva.
"Ellie, take care of yourself! I was just worried about not being able to get rid of the excess magic energy, and here comes the trash can!"
"Quick, grab it! Kill it!" Yasuo shouted from behind a few people, then yelled again at the gathering crowd, "You bunch of scoundrels, what are you looking at? Get out of the way!"
Apart from a few timid ones who retreated, some adventurers did not go far.
"Are you really okay?" Ellie was still worried about her pet, but her staff was quickly knocked away by the approaching warrior, temporarily rendering her unable to fight.
"No problem, trust me!" Seeing the magic flying towards him, Luo Fan decisively chose to create clones, instantly turning into dozens of small balls that jumped around on the field, some of which rushed directly towards Yasuo.
"Quick, stop it!" Yasuo breathed a sigh of relief as he quickly cast a wind shield on himself. "Don't worry about Ellie, you guys go too, take it down quickly!"
In the dim light beside the road, it was impossible to see how many black spheres there were. Even if a small sphere was hit, it would split into two. Multiple dark figures could be seen bouncing along the street and walls, constantly changing their trajectories.
"Oh no, my clothes!"
"Young master, its slime can burn the skin, be careful!"
"Ah, don't come any closer! Help me! It hurts!" Yasuo cried out. At this moment, he was covered in slime, his clothes were visibly gone, and his fair skin was being burned by the remaining slime.
By the time Joseph and his group arrived, the battle was almost over. A dozen or so people, naked, were gathered together on the street, casting wind shields to block Luo Fan's attacks.
Inside, a mage was casting water magic to wash away the remaining slime, looking quite disheveled. Nearby, many hopping slimes would occasionally squeeze in and take a bite of the slime.
Meanwhile, Ellie had retrieved her staff and was still somewhat at a loss.
"What... what happened? Ellie, are you alright?!" Joanna ran over, the view across from her was utterly unbearable.
"Sister Anna!" Seeing someone she knew appear, Ellie couldn't hold back her tears and hugged her.
"Damn it, how dare they bully my apprentice! Brothers, get them! Kill them!"
"How dare you! This is the young master of the Marquis of Mair's family, get out of my way! And Ellie, take your pet back right now!" One of the burly men shouted, clutching his private parts.
Yasuo, having changed his clothes, found them corroded by the slime once again.
"Ellie, please, please call your pet back!" Yasuo cried out.
Knowing the other party's identity, the adventurers hesitated for a moment, but seeing Guild Master Joseph nod, they rushed forward and unleashed another barrage of attacks.
Only then did Luo Fan stop, regroup, and return to Ai Li's side.
Fortunately, they were in the city, and these people knew what was important, so there were no casualties; otherwise, things would have escalated significantly.
In the end, Yasuo and his group were taken away by the law enforcement team that arrived last. They looked quite comical, with their bare bottoms and bruised faces.
