Chapter 25 The Princess Consort of Jin Likes You

Chapter 25 The Princess Consort of Jin Likes You

"Your Highness," Adele frowned slightly, "what did the Princess Consort of Jin say to you just now?"

Chu Yunjin's expression was somewhat subtle.

She hesitated and looked at Adele: "Has your prince ever liked other women before?"

Adele was taken aback: "I've never heard of it."

Chu Yunjin simply said "oh" and didn't ask any further questions.

She didn't really believe what the Princess Consort of Jin said, because she had transmigrated into a book, and the plot of the book was in the author's hands. The author wanted to write a prince who was powerful but obsessed with love, so no matter what kind of temperament the woman he liked was, it wouldn't affect his liking for her.

After all, many female protagonists in rebirth novels weren't very smart in their previous lives, but the male protagonists still loved them to death.

But at this moment, Chu Yunjin felt a strange feeling arise inexplicably.

Did she transmigrate into a book?

Is this a world of two-dimensional characters?

When she sleeps at night, she is holding a living, breathing Yan Cang, not the Yan King in the book who is in love irrationally and manipulated by others. Since he is a living person, it is impossible for everything to develop according to the plot.

Moreover, her arrival has already changed the course of the plot.

Chu Yunjin lowered her eyes, a thoughtful expression appearing in them.

If Yan Cang really loved another woman, a woman who looked exactly like the original owner of this body, and that woman is no longer alive.

Then, wouldn't it be more logical for him to force the original owner of the body to marry him?

He wanted to see the shadow of his beloved in the original owner of the body. Even though he knew that the two had different personalities, as long as their faces were similar, he could tolerate her causing trouble again and again.

Chu Yunjin let out a soft breath, and suddenly felt a little sore.

She couldn't decide to travel through time, nor could she control who Yan Cang liked. Since she had traveled here, she just needed to play her role well and live a good life with Yan Cang. Whoever was in Yan Cang's heart was none of her business.

But I still felt a little uneasy.

Back in her bedroom at Frost Snow Courtyard, Chu Yunjin leaned quietly against the couch, with pastries brought over by Ade in front of her. They were fresh out of the oven and still warm.

But she had no appetite at all.

"Your Highness," Zhaixing asked worriedly, noticing her distress, "What's wrong?"

Chu Yunjin snapped out of her daze and slowly shook her head: "It's nothing."

"The prince is back."

Chu Yunjin looked up.

Yan Cang, dressed in a long black brocade robe, stepped across the threshold. His long legs moved quickly, with a hint of urgency. After entering the room, he walked briskly to the bed and sat down. Before he could say anything, he pulled Chu Yunjin into his arms.

Chu Yunjin looked bewildered as he hugged her: "What's wrong?"

Yan Cang didn't speak, but simply held her tightly, his arms wrapped around her slender body as if he wanted to embed her into his own.

Adele led Zhaixing and Laoyue out.

Chu Yunjin stretched out a hand and patted his shoulder: "Yan Cang, let go of me first, let's talk this out."

Yan Cang remained silent for a moment, then slowly released her: "Don't believe a single word that the Princess Consort of Jin says."

His voice was tense, as if he was worried about something.

Chu Yunjin asked in surprise, "Do you know what the Princess Consort of Jin told me?"

"Someone told me."

Chu Yunjin remembered that when she was talking to the Princess Consort of Jin, Ade, Zhaixing, and Laoyue Sanyue were all standing outside the hall and had not left. After the Princess Consort of Jin left, the three of them went directly into the Xinghua Hall and then went back to the inner courtyard bedroom with her.

So who told him?

Chu Yunjin guessed that Yan Cang was talking about the substitute, and that not a single word of it should be believed.

However, it is unknown whether he was aware that the Princess of Jin admired him.

"Yan Cang." She couldn't hold back her question any longer and wanted to find out, "When did the Princess Consort of Jin start liking you?"

Yan Cang stiffened slightly, then looked at her with some unease: "I have never had any contact with her, nor do I know where her affection for me comes from."

Chu Yunjin responded with an "oh," her tone subtle: "She likes you a lot."

She was so infatuated that she forgot all about maintaining a dignified and gentle image, openly revealing her jealousy and resentment.

Recalling what Princess Jin had said in the Apricot Blossom Hall, anyone who didn't know better would think that the two of them had an irreconcilable blood feud. Princess Jin's eyes, which seemed to want to kill her, made Chu Yunjin realize that her love for Yan Cang was not so simple at all.

Chu Yunjin nestled in Yan Cang's arms, unaware of the icy, chilling look that flashed in Yan Cang's eyes after she finished speaking.

He put his arm around her shoulder, gently closed his eyes to hide the cold glint in them, and said softly, "You said that someone tampered with the caning that day, and I sent people to investigate. You were right."

Chu Yunjin frowned: "Was it Prince Jin's idea?"

“Yes.” Yan Cang nodded. “One of the two guards who carried out the caning that day was named Zhao Zemin, a son of a concubine from the Cheng’an Earl’s family. He had already been bribed by the Prince of Jin.”

Chu Yunjin wrapped her arms around his waist, still a little scared: "That was close."

She still feels lingering fear when she thinks about it.

What if she had transmigrated any later? What if Yan Cang had gone straight to the palace to ask for a divorce agreement after proposing it? What if the Emperor hadn't had the patience to make Yan Cang kneel for two hours and had immediately ordered him to be flogged?

So Yan Cang is probably already suffering from incurable damage.

Chu Yunjin had no time to think about what the Princess Consort of Jin had said. She looked up at Yan Cang and asked, "What do you plan to do?"

Yan Cang said, "I will handle it..."

Before Yan Cang could finish speaking, Qing Chuan's harsh voice rang out from outside: "Your Highness."

"Come in."

Qingchuan entered the room and gave Chu Yunjin a cold look, leaving Chu Yunjin bewildered, wondering what she had done to offend him.

She stammered, "Guard Qingchuan, what's wrong?"

Qingchuan sneered, handed over a letter with both hands, and said in a sarcastic tone, "This is a letter sent by the Prince of Jin to the Princess."

As soon as he finished speaking, the room fell into an eerie silence.
