Chapter 186 A Twist of Fate (Part 2)

"Huh!? Lord Holy Beast? Who? That big dog?"

Although I have a feeling that the dog owner's background is not simple, this is too outrageous! He actually called this big dog "Lord Holy Beast"!

"Woof!"

"Huh? You really don't mind? That's really magnanimous..."

"Wow! Do people who can communicate with animals really exist? Is this magic? No... they really do seem to be communicating freely?"

"Gulvig! Take him back first. If he really is an accomplice of those human traffickers, then wait for him to confess!"

"Yes, Chief!"

As soon as I finished speaking, I felt myself being flipped over by this orc man named Gulvig, who seemed to be binding my hands tightly with some kind of rope... it hurt me a lot.

"Village chief, should we lock him up in jail?"

"Even though it's just a child, there's nothing we can do about it. Let it be! I'll keep following the scent. No one is allowed to lay a hand on him until I get back!"

"Yes, Chief!"

And so, I was carried on the shoulders of a strong orc man and quickly moved into the depths of the rainforest.

I don't know why, but I feel completely weak all over, and I can't even gather magic power. The orc man's move just now was clearly an attack similar to disrupting magic power.

"Ah... I really am having one misfortune after another."

Yes, we just escaped from that den of wolves, well... let's just say we escaped, but now we've really fallen into the tiger's den again. What a forgetful half-baked fool.

This guy named Gulvig roamed the rainforest with impunity, running as if on flat ground even in the dim light.

Is it because orcs all have these strange characteristics?

In short, the trees within sight were receding at an alarming speed, and occasionally a clump of silvery-white fur could be glimpsed following behind.

It must be that big dog.

"Ah... what an ungrateful wretch!"

Indeed, I had just rescued it, yet I didn't step in to help when this happened. I should have at least bared my teeth and threatened them.

"What are you thinking... They're in cahoots, aren't they! They were just calling it... Lord Holy Beast! Ugh... This is absolutely terrible."

Yes, given the current situation, I really regret not bringing Lilith along... As a fellow orc, she could probably try to communicate with her.

I don't know how long we were moved like that, but being carried on someone's shoulder was definitely not a pleasant experience; the violent jolting was even more intense than riding in a horse-drawn carriage.

I was already dizzy after a while, but I still felt nauseous and couldn't bring myself to vomit up the strange thing the girl had fed me... Even so... I'd probably get a beating for it.

After moving for about three or four hours, the visibility in the rainforest became noticeably better, probably because it was dawn. The orc man finally stopped there.

"Lord Holy Beast! You should go home first!"

"Woof!"

I can't see anything anymore... I feel dizzy, and it seems like there are two or three silver-white fur balls on the ground. With a cry, they slowly disappear... until they are no longer visible.

I looked around and saw that it was still a fairly dense rainforest, but... there were some scattered things on the treetops, some of which looked like lights.

Then, the orc man moved forward again, stopped in front of a very thick tree, grabbed a ladder that appeared out of nowhere, and continued to carry me up the tree with ease.

In short, my whole body was tilted towards the ground.

Finally, I was thrown inside. There was no one else inside; it was an empty little wooden cabin, not very spacious, probably only able to hold four or five people.

At that moment, I could clearly feel Gulvig pulling off my clothes... leaving me only in my underwear!

You know, being led to that decadent room by the girl... I wasn't even wearing a coat to begin with, and the whole "streaking" thing was down to my underwear, but at that moment...

"Wait! This guy wouldn't be...!"

I am currently unable to move. Although the unpleasant dizziness is gone, I still cannot resist!

"Hmph! That scoundrel who molested the sacred beast! Just wait until the village chief returns to decide what to do with him!"

Just as that thought was forming, all I heard was a "clang" sound, followed by the sound of something falling.

And so, Gulvig left.

There was no interrogation, no special questioning... and no scene with any kind of holy light.

"Phew...you scared me! I'm just a little kid...don't scare me like that."

After he left, I tried to gather magic again, but I still couldn't even stand up.

He could see that the room he was in was actually just a simple birdcage suspended in the air by some kind of vine; there was no doubt that he was being held in a prison.

"Ah...it's definitely a misunderstanding."

Yes, I know very well that I have been wronged. I was the one who saved the so-called "Holy Beast Lord", so why am I being treated like this?

Based on what the two had just said, I quickly realized that the old orc seemed to have continued the pursuit. However, these two idiots who didn't even have magic power would probably be caught by the old orc soon.

"Hmm... this doesn't seem so bad."

That's true. If those two idiots are really caught, then my misunderstanding will be easily resolved. I can even ask for a pot of wine as compensation.

"Mmm...that's true!"

With that in mind, I simply sat down in the cell and started to relax. I didn't feel panicked. It seemed that they weren't some kind of creature that would eat children; at least we could communicate.

But... why would they strip the prisoner of all his clothes?

Is it a special culture? I've never heard Lilith mention it before. So the orcs of "Kylorans" and "Dororo" are different?

"Um……"

In short, things haven't gotten too bad. As long as that old man brings those two idiots back tomorrow, the truth will come out, and the compensation will be a jug of strong liquor... or perhaps rewarding them with two orc girls wouldn't be out of the question...

No, no, no!

What are you thinking about!

In short... that orc old man also said that I shouldn't be touched easily before he returned. Although I don't know who he is, his words were indeed very authoritative... so much so that the orc man didn't do anything to me.

As he thought this, the sun slowly moved to the center of the sky, and the surrounding scenery gradually became clearer. Although the place he was in did not look like a settlement of tribes, there was smoke rising nearby, making it seem more like a place specially built to imprison prisoners.

It's not particularly comfortable... but it's not too bad either.
