Discovery and monitoring

Discovery and monitoring

Tsurumi Kawaru pushed open the door and entered. Karasuma Renya, with gray hair and wearing a black suit, sat behind a table with his back to the window, with two tall and burly bodyguards standing next to him.

"Boss, you wanted to see me?" The black-haired, golden-eyed boy glanced at the bodyguard, then his gaze fell on Karasuma Renya's remarkably youthful face.

He stood in front of the red solid wood table, arms hanging at his sides. Under the intense gaze, Tsurumi Kawaru nervously buttoned up the smooth seams of his trousers.

Karasuma Renya was silent for a moment, then said, "You and Sherry have a good relationship."

Tsurumi Nagare was taken aback for a moment. Out of the corner of his eye, he noticed the bodyguard next to him, the same one who had been with him earlier. It turned out that the bodyguard had reported his meeting with Miyano Shiho on the first floor to Karasuma Renya.

He nodded hesitantly, then blinked and explained, recalling Shiho Miyano's attitude towards him: "Sherry doesn't seem to like me much. I'm always the one talking, and she only replies occasionally."

Speaking of this, Tsurumi Kawakami's face showed a hint of grievance and confusion.

Karasuma Renya tapped the armrest of the chair and looked at him ambiguously, saying, "Is that so? But Sherry's personality is indeed rather cold."

“We’re leaving soon, so stay in your room and don’t wander around,” the old man added.

Tsurumi Kawakami nodded and followed the bodyguard to the next room. As he closed the door, he saw the bodyguard standing there. He hesitated for a moment, but ultimately said nothing and closed the door.

The room was smaller than the one next door, with a single bed taking up one-fifth of the space. There were two bedside tables next to it, a window diagonally opposite, and a built-in bookshelf in the corner by the window.

After looking around, he also found the restroom, which was rather small.

Tsurumi Kawakami washed his hands and sat on the edge of the bed, feeling a bit bored. He walked to the window and looked out, noticing that the window faced the dock, allowing him to clearly see the movement coming from the other side.

At this moment, the wind picked up, the sea surface rippled, and those on the cruise ship could feel a very slight swaying.

The scent of sea salt wafted over him, and Tsurumi Kawakami sneezed, turning his gaze away from the distance. He closed the window slightly, then turned and went to the bookshelf. The built-in bookshelf was small; after all, floor-standing bookshelves were more like cabinets.

The books were more like decorations, held tightly in the cabinet to ensure they wouldn't fall off during the cruise.

Tsurumi Nagaru wasn't very interested in these books. He was the kind of person who would get sleepy as soon as he started reading, so after a few glances, he lay back down on the bed and started to doze off while staring at the ceiling.

...

In the next room, Karasuma Renya tapped on the table, and the bodyguard next to him immediately took out a listening earpiece from his pocket and put it on.

"Boss, there's nothing unusual happening."

The old man got up and stood on the semi-open balcony, gazing at the boundless sea in a relatively good mood. His voice, carried by the wind, became faint as he asked, "Have you found out who opened the safe?"

Bodyguard: "We checked the security footage, and only Miss Shirley entered the room that day."

Karasuma Renya glanced at him sideways and said, "You mean Sherry moved the safe?"

The bodyguard lowered his head slightly without speaking, but that was the gist of it.

Karasuma Renya withdrew his gaze and turned it back to the sunlit sea. He remained silent for a moment, then waved and left like a bodyguard.

Meanwhile, Gin, having received orders, took Vodka back to the old research facility.

Vodka looked at the empty, emptied research institute, a hint of doubt flashing in his eyes. He glanced at his older brother walking ahead, opened his mouth but ultimately didn't ask.

But Gin seemed to notice his hesitant expression and, unusually, refrained from questioning him, saying with a cold and malicious gaze, "Another rat."

He turned his head and ordered, "Go to the control room."

Vodka was surprised for a second, not knowing who Gin was talking about, but he could clearly sense that Gin's mood had become very unpleasant.

They soon arrived at the research institute's central control room. The computers in the control room were still running, and several monitoring screens were displayed cautiously on the screens. The angles of the images were quite tricky.

Vodka immediately recognized the footage as surveillance footage from some hidden pinhole cameras. These cameras were not widely circulated within the organization because their characteristic of only providing visual monitoring without sound made them unpopular within the organization.

"Brother, should we check the surveillance footage?" Vodka asked.

Gin: "Pull up the surveillance footage from that night, and focus on Sherry's scenes."

Vodka understood Gin's meaning and was somewhat taken aback; Sherry had actually betrayed the organization.

Without saying much, he quickly found the surveillance footage from that night.

Gin stood behind him, arms crossed, his cold eyes fixed on the monitor screen in the shadow of his wide-brimmed hat. He then ordered, "Find out who Sherry was in contact with that night."

Vodka was taken aback, and realized a beat too late that there was a mole among the four of them that night, and besides him and his older brother, there was only Ray and Bourbon.

Vodka hissed inwardly, surprised that Ray and Bourbon would betray the organization. But then he thought of the CIA, FBI, and Japanese Public Security agents he had captured before, and suddenly it didn't seem so surprising.

"Big brother, wasn't Sherry a member of the organization since she was little?" Vodka asked while checking the surveillance footage.

Gin snorted coldly and said in a chilling voice, "That's why the boss is so angry."

Vodka immediately shut his mouth and stopped talking.

"Found Big Brother! Shirley met with Bourbon alone at 9:43 that night! Wait, she also met with Ray—"

Vodka's eyes widened in disbelief.

Gin leaned down slightly, zoomed in on the surveillance footage, and focused on these two segments. After comparing them and checking the timestamps, he discovered that Sherry had met with Bourbon and Ray that night, both privately.

Vodka squinted and carefully went through the passage, then suddenly paused in the middle of the scene where Sherry met Bourbon: "Big brother, it seems like Sherry gave something to Bourbon here."

Because of the camera, the two people were quite far away and had their backs to the camera, so we could only make out some clues from their body language. It seemed that Shirley handed something to Bourbon.

They only stayed in the meeting room for about three minutes before quickly leaving. Then Shirley met Ray in the hallway. The surveillance footage was clearer, but the camera seemed to be installed behind a potted plant, and only Shirley and Ray's chests and below were visible in the frame.

However, the surveillance footage shows that the two seemed to have had an argument, and they engaged in some physical contact before leaving one after the other.

Vodka: "Brother, what do we do now?"

Gin: "Copy these two surveillance videos."

Vodka nodded and pulled a USB drive from his pocket. Gin took out his phone to report the situation to Karasuma Renya. After reporting in a low voice, he coldly sent a text message to Ray and Bourbon, telling them to wait at the usual place.

After copying the document, Vodka left the research institute with Gin.

"Brother, shall we go now?" Vodka asked, gripping the steering wheel after getting into the car.

Gin sat in the passenger seat, fiddling with a USB drive. "No, we're going to find Akemi Miyano."

Vodka remembered the name; he had monitored her for a while long ago, and he also remembered Miyano Akemi's information. She was Miyano Shiho, Sherry's older sister, and currently a low-ranking member of the organization.

Having received instructions, Vodka started the car and drove to Akemi Miyano's residence.

Meanwhile, the two people who received Gin's text message reacted differently.

Amuro Tooru wasn't in the organization. He secretly met with his subordinate Kazami to inquire about the police's actions and preparations, and to confirm the timing of the operation and the interception of the cruise ship. He received a text message as soon as he left with Kazami.

At this critical moment, the text message from Gin made Amuro Tooru hesitate and feel uneasy, but in order not to alert the enemy, he replied and prepared to go to that location.

Ray was with Akemi Miyano. Ever since his identity was exposed in front of Tooru Amuro, the FBI has officially started cooperating with the Japanese Public Security Bureau. A few days ago at the research institute, he guessed that Shiho Miyano had cooperated with Tooru Amuro and that she might have provided some evidence that was detrimental to the Black Organization.

Although he didn't know why Shiho Miyano would cooperate with Tooru Amuro, considering Akemi's relationship with him, Rae met with her privately, but they parted on bad terms.

These past few days, whenever Lai thinks about this matter, he thinks of Akemi. With the evidence provided by Shiho Miyano, Bourbon, as an undercover agent sent by the Japanese Public Security Bureau, has made great progress in eradicating the Black Organization.

As Mingmei served as his stepping stone into the Black Organization, Ray began to consider their relationship after the organization was wiped out and what to do with Mingmei.

This problem has been bothering him for days, and he still hasn't come up with a good solution.

At that moment, he received a text message from Gin.

Lei's eyes flickered, and he looked up at Mingmei and said, "I have to go out for a bit. You can eat by yourself tonight, don't wait for me."

After saying that, he grabbed his coat and walked towards the door.

Akemi Miyano paused for a moment, then walked to the entrance. She handed the hat to Ray and watched him leave without asking any questions.

Akemi Miyano already knew about Rae's identity. She had suspected and speculated about it for a long time, but it was only confirmed by a phone call from her sister Shiho a few days ago.

Thinking of Shiho's vague reminder on the phone that day, Akemi Miyano's face showed a hint of loneliness.

Just then, the doorbell rang.

Miyano Akemi thought that Ray had forgotten something, so she hurriedly opened the door. Then she belatedly realized that Ray had a key and wouldn't ring the doorbell to ask for the door to open.

But before Miyano Akemi could react, the door was pushed open by a hand, and the figure that terrified her stood outside.

Gin looked down at Miyano Akemi and quickly sensed something from the emotions on her face. He scoffed, looked her up and down, and said coldly, "Come with me."

Akemi Miyano was still holding the doorknob. She was wearing her loungewear at home. When she heard Gin's words, her heart skipped a beat. It took her a second to react before she habitually put on a gentle smile.

"Okay, I'll change my clothes."

Gin was about to speak to stop her when Akemi Miyano turned and went into the bedroom before he could react.

Gin narrowed his eyes unhappily, quickly scanning the living room. His keen observation revealed several issues. However, considering Ray's relationship with her and the fact that Ray should be waiting for him at the usual place he had told him to go, Gin ultimately refrained from reacting.

When Miyano Akemi saw Gin standing outside the door, a bad feeling welled up in her heart, and her radar, which sensed danger, frantically warned her.

Using the excuse of changing clothes, Miyano Akemi quickly took out her phone and first sent a text message to her younger sister Shiho, and then notified Rae.

After doing all this, she breathed a sigh of relief, changed her clothes, and went out.

She left the residence with Gin.
