Huiwenye extra chapter one

Huiwenye extra chapter one

Clutching his rumbling stomach, Tsurumi Kawaru stared blankly at the bustling street.

He looked rather disheveled, wearing the same clothes he had on when he fell into the sea. His original black trench coat had been lost in the heavy waves, and his white shirt was wrinkled after drying, covered with a layer of sea salt and filled with a fishy smell.

Tsurumi Kawaru emerged from the alley, squinting at the blinding sunlight. He turned and looked around before walking to a shady spot under a tree.

"Want to come in?" came a strange middle-aged man's voice from behind.

Tsurumi Kawaru turned his head, and a middle-aged man, around forty years old and wearing a headscarf, waved to him.

He looked up at the sign; it was a curry rice shop. The aroma of food wafting from inside made his rumbling stomach rumble loudly.

Tsurumi Kawakami took two steps forward, then suddenly remembered something. He nodded and then shook his head at the other person, saying, "I don't have any money on me. Can I work to pay for my meals?"

The curry shop owner paused for only a second before smiling and saying, "It's alright, but the shop is indeed quite busy today."

As he spoke, he waved to Tsurumi Kawaru, beckoning him to come into the shop.

Upon entering, a pungent and stimulating aroma wafted over, the rich scent of curry making one's mouth water. Tsurumi Kawakami sneezed, rubbed his nose, and looked up to see a photo of the chef's recommended spicy curry rice posted above the counter.

Noticing his gaze, the owner gave him a thumbs-up and said enthusiastically, "Want to try some? It's really good!"

Tsurumi Kawa blinked, glanced at the menu on the wall, and shook his head, saying, "Just give me the cheapest potato and chicken curry."

The recommendation failed, and although the boss was a little disappointed, he still turned around and went to the kitchen to get him a chicken curry.

"You eat first, I'll arrange work for you later." The uncle patted him on the shoulder.

Tsurumi Kawaru picked up the spoon beside him and ate the curry rice with gusto. The chicken curry was just the most common curry in the restaurant, but it tasted very good. The curry flavor was very rich, and it was very appetizing when mixed with mashed potatoes.

"Hey guys upstairs, come down and get your food!" The uncle stood in a passageway behind the counter and called upstairs.

A moment later, the sound of hurried footsteps grew louder as four young boys came running down from upstairs and dashed towards the kitchen.

Tsurumi Kawakami was sitting close to the kitchen, so he could hear the conversations coming from there.

"Kosuke and Katsumi, you can't help Shinji eat carrots. Being a picky eater is bad! And Yu too! Take Sakuro's curry upstairs and do your homework obediently until Oda comes back."

The children responded in drawn-out voices, then ran out with their curry rice and went back upstairs.

Tsurumi Kawakami glanced up at them, and at that moment, the manager came out from the kitchen and walked straight up to him: "How about another curry?"

Tsurumi Kawa looked down at the clean plate, touched his stomach which had been pacified but was still not quite full, hesitated for two seconds, and then nodded.

"Thank you for your help, I will work hard." He solemnly assured him.

Store manager: "..."

The second curry was a little bigger than the first. The shopkeeper placed the curry in front of Tsurumi Kawaru, who thanked him and picked up a spoon to eat it in big bites.

It was past lunchtime, and the curry shop wasn't crowded; only a few people were sitting there. The shop owner was sitting behind the counter looking at the accounts when a customer finished eating and came to pay.

Just as the customer finished paying and opened the door, a group of people rushed in, and the two sides bumped into each other. Before the customer could react, he caught a glimpse of the strange clothing and firearms the group had brought in, and immediately fell silent, hurriedly walking around them and leaving.

The shopkeeper noticed the commotion at the door and looked up to see a group of strange men wearing gray cloaks and carrying guns.

His expression changed, and out of the corner of his eye, he saw the other customers in the store. He immediately shouted, "What are you doing? Get out of my store!"

Hearing the commotion, the other customers looked up, and in the next second, everyone fled at lightning speed. Soon, all the customers had left, and Tsurumi Kawakami, who was closer to the counter and stairs and remained motionless, became incredibly conspicuous.

The newcomers seemed to be taken aback by their speed of escape and did not make any move for a moment. It was not until they noticed that no one was still sitting there eating curry like Tsurumi Kawakami that the gray-robed people reacted, exchanged glances and talked to each other, and one of the gray-robed people walked towards the shopkeeper.

"Is Oda Sakunosuke here?" The gray-robed man's tone was strange; it was obvious he was a foreigner, and he seemed to have not spoken for a long time, his voice hoarse and his words hesitant.

The shop manager said with a stern face, "I know nothing about Oda Sakunosuke. You'd better leave my shop!"

The commotion downstairs was loud enough for the people upstairs to hear. After finishing the last bite of his curry rice, Tsurumi Kawakami put down his spoon and noticed the name they were talking about.

He had overheard the shop manager mention the name "Oda" in the kitchen, so he lied to the group of men in gray robes.

Tsurumi Kawakami got up and walked towards the counter. He glanced at the gray-robed man standing in front of the shopkeeper, then looked at the shopkeeper and asked, "I'm finished eating. Is there anything I can help you with?"

A hint of surprise flashed in the shop manager's eyes. He paused, trying to keep his voice calm and composed, and said, "There's nothing for you here. Go upstairs and tidy up. If you can, look after the children for me."

Tsurumi Kawakami nodded, glanced at the gray-robed man, and walked past him to go upstairs.

As soon as I stepped onto the first flight of stairs, I heard the sound of a bullet being chambered behind me.

Tsurumi Kawa turned around and saw the gray-robed man raise his gun. Using the stair railing, he flipped over the counter and pinned the shopkeeper down.

Da da da—

Wood chips flew everywhere, and the bullet quickly passed through the wooden counter and reached the back of the counter.

The second floor of the curry shop.

Upon hearing the shopkeeper's loud reprimand, Kosuke immediately tensed up. He looked up and glanced around at his companions, then put his hand to his mouth to shush.

He tiptoed to the top of the stairs and glanced down. When he saw the gray-robed man standing in front of the counter, Kosuke shuddered and immediately turned and ran back.

He pulled Katsumi aside, then turned to Shinji and Yu and ordered, "Quickly hide! You two take Sakura and hide in the closet!"

Keji glanced around the room for a hiding place, then walked to the window, opened it, and looked outside. He noticed a white van parked outside the curry shop.

He turned to Kosuke and said, "Kosuke-nii, there aren't many places to hide in this room. Let's go outside through the window."

Kosuke and Shinji were helping to hide Sakura in the closet when they heard his words. They turned to look at the room, walked to the window, and estimated the distance from the second floor to the ground. They thought that they might be able to go down to the ground floor by following the pipe next to it.

"Okay, Katsumi, you go first, Shinji, Saki, then Yu, and I'll bring up the rear."

Keji nodded, climbed out of the window, carefully climbed to the pipe, and slid down the pipe while holding onto it.

After Katsumi and Shinji successfully descended, Saki and Yuya prepared to go down as well. Kosuke, who was in charge of covering the rear, heard a burst of gunfire coming from downstairs.

He shuddered in fright, glanced back anxiously, and hesitated to run to the stairwell. Thinking of the kind shopkeeper, Kosuke swallowed nervously, peered out the window at Sakura, who had already safely descended, and Yu, who was halfway down, then took a deep breath and turned to run towards the stairwell.

Downstairs, Tsurumi Kawaru shielded the shopkeeper with his body, triggering his shield parry skill. The bullets that had passed through the counter returned along their trajectory after hitting the shield.

The bullet pierced flesh with a muffled thud, and the smell of blood filled the air, instantly overpowering the aroma of curry in the shop and spreading into the nasal cavity.

Hearing the muffled thud, Tsurumi Kawaru hesitated for a few seconds, then pressed the shopkeeper's uncle to slowly get up. The gray-robed man who had been standing in front of the counter was now lying on his back on the ground, with bright red blood seeping out from under him.

The gray-robed figures at the entrance were scattered inside the shop, and their gazes toward Tsurumi Kawaru had changed.

"Superpowered Individuals"

No sooner had he finished speaking than one of the gray-robed men, as if testing the waters, fired a shot at Tsurumi Kawakami.

The bullet ricocheted back with lightning speed.

But this time, the person who fired the shot was prepared and narrowly avoided it. However, after that, the gray-robed men looked at Tsurumi Kawakuri with a different gaze and a hint of apprehension.

They exchanged glances and whispered something to each other. The group then dispersed, drawing Tsurumi Kawaru's attention. One of the men, dressed in a gray robe, ran straight up the stairs to the second floor.

Seeing the person run upstairs, the shop manager, who had just gotten up, immediately felt his heart jump into his throat.

But after a few seconds, the gray-robed man returned empty-handed, standing at the top of the stairs and saying downstairs, "There's no one upstairs."

Upon hearing this, the shop manager breathed a sigh of relief, then his heart tightened again.

Meanwhile, the battle on Tsurumi River's side was almost over. The bullets were ricocheting back, and the gray-robed man stopped using guns and started using melee weapons.

But they soon discovered that cold weapons were no match; the wounds they inflicted with slashes and thrusts would magically appear on their own bodies the next second.

Realizing that Tsurumi Kawakami's ability would reflect all damage, the group stopped attacking and slowly dispersed their encirclement to retreat. Upon hearing the gray-robed man's words from upstairs, they acted in unison and retreated outside the shop.

Tsurumi Kawakami did not stop them from leaving, and they even took the person lying on the ground with them when they left.

After they left, the shop manager came out from behind the counter and immediately ran upstairs to look for them.

Tsurumi Kawaru stood at the top of the stairs without going up. After listening to the noise for a while, he walked towards the door, pushed it open, went around to the second-floor window at the back, looked up at the pipes right next to the window, and then looked around at the alleys on both sides.

"Kosuke—" came the shop manager's shout from the second-floor window.

Tsurumi Kawaru looked up at the building and walked into the alley to the left. "Kosuke."

A few rustling sounds came from behind a row of trash cans. Kosuke peeked out from behind the trash cans, looking warily at Tsurumi Kawaru, and recognized him after a few glances.

At that moment, the shop manager also came over.

Kosuke lowered his guard, pulled Shinji and Katsumi out from behind the trash can, and ran around Tsurumi River towards the shopkeeper.

They returned to the messy curry shop, where the pool of bright red blood on the counter hadn't been cleaned up, tables and chairs were overturned, and broken plates and food scraps were scattered everywhere.

After calming the children down, the shopkeeper turned to Tsurumi Kawaru with a grateful expression and said, "Thank you so much for earlier. If it weren't for you, these kids and I probably wouldn't have had such good luck."

Knowing that it was Tsurumi Kawakami who saved them, Kosuke and the others came over to express their gratitude.

Tsurumi Kawa blinked, his bright golden eyes gleaming like molten gold. He scratched his cheek with his finger and said with a hint of embarrassment, "Ah, it's nothing. Besides, I'm part of the curry shop, too."

As he spoke, he looked at the shop manager.

"Haha, of course!"

-

On the other side, Oda Sakunosuke, who was rushing to the curry shop after receiving the news, happened to run into Dazai Osamu on the way.

Without saying anything more, the two exchanged a glance and ran together toward the curry shop.

Dazai Osamu's feelings were somewhat complicated. He had already guessed that Mimic attacked the curry shop because of the information provided by Mori-san. In order to achieve his goal and obtain the ability license, Mori-san would do this.

if--

Suddenly, a face appeared in his mind, and Dazai Osamu's expression became dazed for a moment. If that person were here, perhaps things would be different.

A glint of malice flashed in Dazai Osamu's dark, hawk-like eyes. He quickly dismissed the thought and began to plan the possible scenarios that might unfold and the series of reactions they would trigger.

But when the two of them arrived at the curry shop and saw the intact storefront, a hint of surprise flashed in Dazai Osamu's eyes.

Oda Sakunosuke didn't think much of it. He pushed open the door and rushed in, swallowing back the shout he was about to utter when he met the seven pairs of eyes in the store.

"Sakunosuke—!!" Kosuke and the others rushed forward and hugged the red-haired youth.

Dazai Osamu pushed open the door and saw that the children Oda Sakunosuke had adopted were unharmed. He secretly breathed a sigh of relief. He glanced around the store and, after seeing the dark red blood on the floor, suddenly caught a glimpse of a familiar face out of the corner of his eye.

Osamu Dazai: “…”

Tsurumi Kawakami stared wide-eyed, picked up his broom and took a few steps forward, looking at the black-haired boy in a black coat with one eye covered by a strap, revealing a kite-shaped eye.
