Escape

Escape

Wen Xubai suddenly chuckled, then abruptly grabbed Qi Zui and pressed a fierce kiss onto him before releasing him, saying, "There's nothing between Wen Xushi and me. The one I love most is you. The one who understands me best, and the one I understand best, is also you."

Qi Zui was suddenly stunned by this unexpected confession, standing there dumbfounded for a long time without reacting. It wasn't until he saw Wen Xubai's sly smile that he belatedly realized what was happening, and his whole body turned red from head to toe as if he had exploded.

Wen Xubai had already let go of him and turned to continue searching for his things as if nothing had happened, leaving the smug Qi Zui standing there, scratching his head as if he were walking on clouds: "Hey, A-Che, you... oh dear..."

It wasn't until Wen Xubai had searched the entire warehouse that Qi Zui finally lost some of his blush, only to receive extremely bad news: there was nothing in the warehouse that he could use as a stepping stone.

The warehouse was mostly filled with heavy shipping containers, with very few small boxes that could be moved easily, not enough to carry the two of them to the ventilation vent. Perhaps because it had been abandoned for a long time, even the metal rack that the two of them managed to find was covered in rust and broke easily when pulled, let alone stepped on.

The two looked at each other, their expressions somewhat solemn.

After a while, Qi Zui suddenly moved three small wooden boxes from the side and placed them at the ventilation opening. Then, with a long stride, he stepped directly onto it. Facing the setting sun, like a god under a spotlight, he opened his arms to Wen Xubai and said with a wry smile, "Come on, let me take you up first."

Wen Xubai: "?"

Wen Xubai: "Then what are you going to do?"

With their combined height of nearly 3.7 meters, plus the height of the three boxes, they could actually use their strength to climb to the top of the warehouse. But for now, the two of them could at least look out for each other. What would happen to Qi Zui if he got up there and he was left alone down there?

You can't exactly find a spring and let him jump up on it like a parkour kid, can you?

Qi Zui saw his dissatisfaction, but smiled calmly and pointed to the blood-stained hemp rope ball on the ground, saying, "When I cut the rope just now, I was careful not to cut it completely. When you go up later, I will throw the rope to you, and you can throw down a few more sections so I can use them to climb up."

Wen Xubai crossed his arms and looked at him warily: "Then why didn't you go up first?"

Qi Zui asked in surprise, "I'll go first?" He flexed his muscular chest, "But I'm afraid I might crush you, okay? Ouch, falling to your death... is better than being crushed to death, right?"

Wen Xubai slapped him lightly, his face darkening. Qi Zui immediately chuckled, clapped his hands again, and coaxed him softly, "Come on, your husband has some strength. Even if you fall, I'll be your human cushion. Trust me."

Looking at those hands with bulging veins, Wen Xubai hesitated for a moment. Whether it was because he was swayed by Qi Zui's words or out of instinctive trust in this man, he actually put his hand up. Then Qi Zui pulled him up with force.

As soon as they embraced, the platform made of wooden boxes swayed a bit. Qi's strongest hand held Wen Xubai's hand firmly, and the two of them almost became one, which allowed them to stand firmly on the limited space of the platform.

Qi Zui glanced at him, then turned around, bent down, and said with a smile, "Come on!"

Wen Xubai grabbed Qi Zui's shoulders with both hands, then jumped up with force, his long legs wrapping around Qi Zui's broad waist, and then Qi Zui lifted up suddenly!

With the azure sky right before him, Wen Xubai locked his gaze on the metal plate of the ventilation duct, seized the opportunity, and quickly grabbed it! Then, using the strength of his abdomen, he pushed off forcefully!

With a clang, Wen Xubai's feet landed on the iron plate. Overjoyed, he caught a glimpse of Long Er and the others smoking at the warehouse entrance. He quickly turned around and whispered down into the cave, "Qi Zui, quickly give me the rope!"

The man below the cave simply stared at him silently, his eyes flickering, without making a move.

Wen Xubai thought he hadn't seen it, so he quickly covered his mouth with his hand, raised his voice a little, and shouted again, "Qi Zui! Give me the rope!"

The man at the bottom of the cave remained unmoved.

For some reason, Wen Xubai felt a little flustered. Ignoring whether he would attract attention, he raised his voice again and urged, "Qi Zui!"

The man in the cave finally reacted; his dark pupils gleamed brightly in the sunlight, yet the light couldn't penetrate his eyes. Qi Zui moved his thin lips, but remained silent.

But when Ke Wenxu saw the shape of his lips, he felt as if a cold water had been poured over his head, and a chill spread from the bottom of his heart to his limbs and bones.

Qi Zui said: Hurry up.

Wen Xubai froze abruptly, only then remembering that Qi Zui had clearly cut the rope from top to bottom with a single stroke. He had initially thought that his senses were inaccurate because he was facing away from the body, but now it seemed that his assumption was correct.

Where was there any rope to cling to? It was obvious that Qi wanted him to abandon him and run away!

Wen Xubai panicked suddenly, his pupils contracted sharply, and he could no longer control his voice, exclaiming, "Qi Zui!!"

"Huh? What's that sound???" Long Er quickly turned around, and Wen Xubai hurriedly crawled down, lying down with the patch on. The coolness seeped into his thin shirt, but it was not as cold as the coldness in his heart.

Qi Zui also noticed the commotion outside the door. A cold glint flashed in his eyes. He looked up at him and quickly shook his head, then mouthed the same words again, this time with a larger gesture.

Hurry up!

"Huh? There seems to be a sound?" Tiger Three heard it too this time and scratched his head. He turned to look at the Fourth and Fifth Brothers beside him, who also looked puzzled.

Long Er's gaze slowly fell on the tightly closed warehouse door, his eyes growing increasingly somber. Suddenly, he exhaled the last puff of smoke from his cigarette, grabbed an iron bar from beside him, stood up, and said in a deep voice, "Let's go in and take a look."

"Yes!" the men replied in succession, and picked up their weapons.

"No!" Wen Xubai shook his head desperately, looking at Qi Zui with an almost pleading gaze, and said in a trembling voice, "Come up quickly..."

This time, the man didn't respond. Instead, he looked away and called out, "Hurry up! I've already sent my location to Ruan Xing and the police. They should be waiting for us outside the dock by now!"

These words were spoken loudly and clearly, without any breathiness. The man's clear voice echoed throughout the empty warehouse, not only for Wen Xubai to hear, but also for the few people who had barged in from outside.

Wen Xubai: "!"

"Damn it!" Long Er slung an iron rod over his shoulder, his eyes icy cold. "I was wondering what was making all that noise. I thought it was some annoying dead rat, but I never expected... it was you, you piece of trash!"

In the dim light, a man in a black suit stood out.

"Is that so?" Qi Zui raised an eyebrow at the group and sneered without hesitation, "If I am trash, then your so-called 'boss' is truly a maggot that is not even as good as trash."

"You!" Long Er glared angrily, pointing his stick directly at Qi Zui, and said viciously, "Fine, I was going to give you face because you're my older brother's younger brother, but now look what's happened! You're going to do! Get him!!!"

Upon hearing the order, the men behind him immediately swung their batons and charged! A strong gust of wind swept in, and Qi Zui quickly dodged, only to have a baton land on his head, slamming against the container with a deafening clang!

Qi Zui's ears stung from the sound so close to his, and he quickly dodged to the side, only to suddenly hear a panicked shout from above: "Watch out!"

It was Wen Xubai's voice.

Qi Zui quickly regained his composure, dodging the club that was about to strike his shin, and hurriedly shouted back, "Run! Go get reinforcements to save me!!!"

"Leave?" Long Er sneered, looking up at Wen Xubai on the roof of the warehouse, his sinister eyes gleaming with cruel ruthlessness: "None of you are leaving today!"

"Rat Four, Bear Five!"

"Yes, Second Brother!"

Wen Xubai slid down the smooth patch, and as soon as he landed, he saw two shifty-eyed men chasing after him. His heart was pounding, and he quickly ran to an open space!

He had never been here before and didn't know exactly where the exit was. He could only follow his memory of the dock from when he helped Wen Tingyi with his previous transactions, running towards places that might be the exit!

Xiong Wu, a burly man, tired after only a few steps and no match for him, was quickly left behind. But Shu Si was different; his advantage lay in his agility and incredible speed!

A smug smile spread across a face with a pointed snout and monkey-like cheeks. Rat Four's shrill voice boomed from behind, "Stop running! Surrender obediently!"

Hearing the sounds getting closer and closer behind him, Wen Xubai's heart sank. Suddenly, he caught sight of a horizontal bar in front of him, and quickly grabbed it with both hands and pulled himself up!

The rat, caught off guard and moving too fast, couldn't stop the car by the time it reacted. It could only glide under Wen Xubai and then cry out in surprise, "Hey hey hey—!"

Behind him, Xiong Wu finally caught up, panting and holding up his stick, saying, "Fourth Brother, don't be afraid, I'm here to help you!"

Wen Xubai's eyes narrowed, he took a long step down, exerted force with his arm, and quickly swung his body and kicked! He kicked the rat four, who had just regained his footing, backward, causing him to collide with the rushing Xiong Wu, resulting in a scream! Then, the rat four rolled around like a mud ball for several punches before collapsing to the ground with a yelp.

Wen Xubai got off the bar and could already see the dock. He was overjoyed, thinking to himself that he hadn't gone the wrong way.

If what Qi Zui said is true, and Ruan Xing and the police have already received the news, then as long as he can get out, the two of them can be saved.

Thinking of Qi Zui, Wen Xubai's heart sank again. Long Er and Hu San were not easy to deal with. Every moment of delay would put Qi Zui in greater danger. Without hesitation, Wen Xubai took off running!

The wind whistled in his ears, and the group of rats and bears behind him had already gotten up and were cursing him. The words they used were so offensive and unbearable to hear, but Wen Xubai didn't care at all. He ran forward at almost the fastest speed he could ever go!

When he reached the dock and saw the faint figures of people, Wen Xubai was suddenly overjoyed and slowed down.

The moment Wen Xubai saw the face of the person at the door, he froze, a chill running down his spine.

Wen Xushi, dressed in a formal suit, stood in front of the door, while a large group of menacing-looking people behind him seemed to become nothing more than a backdrop.

Wen Xushi adjusted his glasses on the bridge of his nose with his well-defined knuckles, gave the newcomer a classic, cool smile, and spoke in a voice as light as a feather, yet penetrating to the heart.

"Where do you want to go, Little White?"
