Jealous
Just as Wen Xubai was about to cry out in surprise, a pair of large hands suddenly covered his mouth and nose from behind.
"Ugh!" Wen Xubai was startled, the blade in his hand instantly falling to the ground. He tried to push his shoulder back, but someone easily grabbed his shoulder. Just as he was about to panic, he felt hot breath on his ear, and a very familiar voice, tinged with panic, rang out:
"Shh! Ah Che! It's me!"
Wen Xubai's struggling body suddenly froze.
The man deliberately lowered his voice, his low, husky voice, slightly breathy, was crystal clear.
For some reason, a surge of anger suddenly welled up inside him, mixed with a sense of grievance. Before the other person could react, Wen Xubai suddenly struck him on the head!
Qi Zui sensed Wen Xubai's momentary stiffness and assumed he recognized him, so he lowered his guard. However, he was then struck squarely on the forehead, causing him to instinctively release his grip, clutch his head, and take a step back with a muffled groan. He quickly suppressed the urge to cry out, softening his voice and grimacing as he said, "It's me, Qi Zui!"
Fearing that Wen Xubai wouldn't believe him, he quickly reached behind his waist and found the flashlight. He turned it on with a "snap," shone it on his own face, and then shone it on Wen Xubai's face. Upon seeing it, Wen Xubai was instantly stunned.
How could she not recognize him?
Wen Xubai sat on the spot with his hands tied, his pale eyes beneath his black, tousled hair red-rimmed, his delicate eyebrows lowered, his thin lips pressed tightly together, almost drawing blood, staring straight at him, on the verge of tears.
Qi Zui's heart clenched, and ignoring the dull ache in his head, he quickly crawled a few steps to Wen Xubai's face, anxiously asking, "What's wrong? Why are you crying???"
The moment the rough fingers touched his cheek, Wen Xubai instinctively recoiled, letting out a soft hiss. Qi Zui's eyes turned cold upon hearing this.
He touched Wen Xubai's eyes, then shone the flashlight directly at his face. A large red mark on his palm almost covered Wen Xubai's entire left cheek, standing out prominently against his fair skin.
And then there were the shirt and trousers, clearly ripped from a violent tear. Qi Zui felt like he was going crazy; his hand, which was covering Wen Xu's glare, was trembling uncontrollably...
"They...hit you?" Qi Zui felt a lump in his throat. All the words he had said before coming were now suppressed in his heart. He hadn't seen clearly in the rush just now, but now there was nothing he didn't understand.
Rage surged through his veins, instantly rising to his heart. Qi Zui shoved the flashlight into Wen Xubai's hand, grabbed the knife from his pocket, and headed for the door. He forced out a few difficult words, filled with hatred: "Bastard—I—"
"Don't go!" Suddenly, his wrist was grabbed. Qi Zui was stunned for a moment. A cool and soft touch came from the back of his hand. He turned around and saw Wen Xubai pressing his good side against the back of his hand.
Stray hairs on his forehead obscured Wen Xubai's expression. From Qi Zui's angle, all that could be seen were his trembling eyelashes, his tightly closed eyes, and his collar, which was wide open and covered in dirt and grime.
The hand holding the knife was trembling, and the person on top of him was also shaking; for a moment, it was impossible to tell who was shaking.
Qi Zuixin felt as if his heart was being squeezed tightly, the pain unbearable, but ultimately, the heartache overwhelmed his anger. He slowly knelt down, carefully putting away the knife that might harm Wen Xubai, then gently embraced the person in front of him, pulling him tightly into his arms. He rested his chin on Wen Xubai's fluffy head and said in a hoarse voice, "Don't be afraid, I'm here..."
With just these words, the person in his arms trembled even more violently. After a long while, a wet feeling spread across his chest. Wen Xubai's tightly bitten lower lip finally bled at this moment. A complex mix of grievance and anger surged into his heart, and a broken voice finally burst out from his throat.
Wen Xubai buried his head in Qi Zui's arms, choking back tears, and said, "Why...why did you take so long to come..."
Strangely enough, whether it was being beaten and confined by Qin Yalin as a child, or being bullied by Hu San and his gang now, he had never once felt the urge to cry. But the moment he saw Qi Zui, all his pent-up emotions seemed to shatter instantly. His strong exterior crumbled, and countless surprised and aggrieved feelings surged into his heart, turning into tears that flowed uncontrollably…
Wen Xubai's thin body trembled more and more violently, which made Qi Zui's heart tremble more and more intensely. He held his lover's hand tighter and tighter, as if he wanted to merge the other into his own body.
Qi Xiao carefully lifted Wen Xubai's face and saw his tear-filled face and his thin lips, which were bitten tightly with blood. His heart ached so much that he wished he could take Wen Xubai's place. Every inch of his gaze on Wen Xubai's face felt like a sharp sword piercing his heart.
Qi Zui's fingertips gently caressed him, his deep eyes revealing suppressed emotions. He seemed to want to wipe the blood from Wen Xubai's lips, but was afraid of hurting him, so he hesitated for a long time. Wen Xubai, however, was eager to find peace of mind, so he closed his eyes and offered himself to him.
The moment their lips touched, all that could be heard was a deafening buzz. Qi Zui was startled at first, then carefully embraced Wen Xubai's slender waist, gently taking away the taste of blood from his mouth. His soft lips and tongue brushed over the small wound. Qi Zui released the panting Wen Xubai and then kissed him again.
Hearing Xu Bai's broken voice ring in his ears, it was a pleading whisper: "Take me away..."
"Okay, I'll take you away." The final kiss landed on Wen Xubai's shoulder.
This kiss was powerful and unwavering.
The next second, with a "whoosh" sound, Qi Zui raised his knife and cut all the ropes binding Wen Xubai.
The feeling of being restrained was finally gone. Wen Xubai moved his stiff arms and turned around to see Qi Zuijun frowning, looking at the red marks on his hands with great pain.
"Does it hurt...?" he asked hoarsely.
Wen Xubai lowered his eyes and did not answer.
How could they be different? The rough hemp rope dug deep into his flesh, a grating, piercing pain that made every movement excruciating. But he didn't want what Qi was most worried about…
Qi Zui understood, and after a long silence, without asking any further questions, he grabbed Wen Xubai's arm with his strong hand, pulled him up from the ground, and helped him stand up.
Wen Xubai asked him, "Where did you come from?"
Qi Zui remained silent and pointed to the vent on the ceiling in the corner.
When Wen Xubai looked up, he saw white clouds and blue sky, the sky was clear and the sunlight shone in through the ventilation vents, falling on the dim floor of the warehouse, which was the only place with light in this huge warehouse.
No wonder he felt the warehouse was a little brighter just now...
However, getting down is easy, but climbing back up is difficult.
Qi Zui looked around and started looking for a ladder or something similar. Wen Xubai saw this and helped him look.
"How did you find this place?" Wen Xubai asked curiously.
“I tracked down the location where you disappeared on the beach, and then I searched along the coast. Finally, I found your watch that you had abandoned in the grass.” Qi Zui said, raising the watch with its broken dial in his hand, and then quickly put it in his pocket. “You have an injury on your hand, so I’ll keep it for you and return it to you when we get back.”
Wen Xubai pursed his lips. "Then how did you guess I was at the dock, instead of suspecting that Wen Xushi threw me into the water?"
Upon hearing this, Qi Zui paused for a moment while searching for something, his eyes dimming for a fleeting instant: "Let's take a gamble. In the past three years at the Wen family, I've heard many rumors about Wen Xushi, and I know that your relationship is extraordinary. So I bet... he probably won't be willing to kill you. As for why I guessed the dock... it's because you said before that you wanted to leave Jiangcheng, right? Ruan Xing said you are the person who understands Wen Xushi the most, so I think he should understand you very well too... He can't take trains or planes now, so if he doesn't want to be tracked, he can only take a boat."
Upon hearing this, Wen Xubai finally noticed something was amiss. He turned his head and, sure enough, saw Qi Zui standing with his hands on his hips, casually looking around, but the restraint in his eyes was impossible to hide.
Wen Xubai walked over slowly and chuckled, "Jealous?"
"No." Caught off guard, Qi Zui lowered his head, guiltily touching the tip of his nose. But Wen Xubai's steps didn't falter; instead, he continued to approach. Left with no other option, Qi Zui abruptly raised his head and exclaimed, "Really, no!"
"What the hell? Tiger Three, did you just speak?" Long Er's shout came from outside the warehouse.
Wen Xubai was startled. He hadn't expected Qi Zui to react so strongly, so he quickly covered Qi Zui's mouth!
"What?! I didn't say anything?!" Tiger Three exclaimed in surprise. "Rat Four, was that you?!" He kicked him.
"Ouch, it wasn't me! It wasn't me!" Rat Four cried out, clutching his backside. "Where's that sound? You two must have misheard!"
"Did you really hear wrong?" Long Er glanced at Xiong Wu with some suspicion, only to see the other nod with a similarly bewildered expression. Long Er could only pick at his ear, grumbling, "Fine. Hey! What are you looking at! Big Brother'll be back in a minute! Aren't you going to get to work?!"
"Yes, yes, yes—" the others responded in unison.
The two people in the warehouse, having heard the commotion subside, exchanged a glance and finally breathed a sigh of relief.
Wen Xubai released his hand from Qi Zui's, and before the other man could speak, he grabbed the man's ear and said in a low, vicious voice, "Qi Zui!"
"Hiss—I was wrong, I was wrong—I really didn't mean to—" Qi Zui lowered his voice and begged for mercy, grimacing.
Seeing the man's sincere apology, Wen Xubai reluctantly let go. Seeing the man rubbing his red and sore ear, his eyes darting away, Wen Xubai reluctantly leaned closer, staring intently at the man's face, and asked seriously, "You're really not jealous?"
"Really!" Qi Zui nodded.
"Really?" Wen Xubai asked with some doubt.
Qi Zui coughed lightly, guiltily avoiding Wen Xubai's burning gaze, "Yes... a little bit..."
