Chapter 150 Encountering Danger

The deep forest was silent and eerie, with a constant howling of the wind and a faint rustling sound.

Yun Nian knew that it was a snake flicking its tongue.

He was sweating profusely, his shoulders trembling, and he dared not move an inch.

"What...what should we do?" Yun Nian stammered.

Fu Wenzhou cursed under his breath: "Didn't you say that applying the powder would prevent wild animals from attacking? You're fucking kidding me!"

Yun Nian stammered, "I'm sorry... This kind of giant python has a very strong sense of smell. It's possible that the medicine powder has been sitting for too long and is no longer effective."

Fu Wenzhou felt a chill run down his spine, and his palms were covered in a fine layer of sweat.

The anaconda was enormous, estimated to be at least ten meters long. At that moment, it was cunningly flicking its tongue, warily stopping in front of them, its pair of eerie green eyes gleaming with a cold, sinister light.

Fu Wenzhou dared not make a rash move. His backpack was on the other side, and he had no time to grab his gun. He could only grip the short knife in his hand and wait for an opportunity to strike.

Yun Nian wanted to speak, but Fu Wenzhou interrupted her coldly: "Shut up if you want to live."

Yun Nian immediately shut her mouth, her eyes fixed on the man's face, which was close to hers, her expression a mixture of fear and worry.

The anaconda curled up in a ball. It hadn't eaten for months. Its eyes were dim, but its tongue was sharp. The snake, having caught a whiff of the scent in the air, set its sights on the feast before it.

Suddenly, the anaconda's tail moved.

The giant snake's head suddenly lunged towards Fu Wenzhou and Yun Nian. At the critical moment, Fu Wenzhou braced himself with one hand, flipped over, and leaped forward, thrusting his short knife into the python's belly.

However, this injury was nothing to the enormous anaconda. Its tail lunged at Fu Wenzhou, while its head moved at the same time. Fu Wenzhou swiftly dodged and stabbed at the tail with his knife.

He was already injured, and those two cuts alone had exhausted all of Fu Wenzhou's strength. His face was deathly pale, his lips were bloodless, and his clothes on the back were torn and soaked in blood. The sticky blood clung to his clothes, and every movement tore the wound apart.

Fu Wenzhou had no time to worry about his back injury. The python's tail was stung, and its body suddenly stood up, opening its blood-red mouth to attack Fu Wenzhou's head. Fu Wenzhou suddenly flipped over, and the python missed its target. It then moved its target to a smaller one, wrapping its tail around Yun Nian's leg and throwing Yun Nian upwards.

Yun Nian screamed in fright, "Fu Wenzhou!"

"Fuck you! Stop yelling!" Fu Wenzhou's expression was icy as he cursed as he got up. Just as Yun Nian was about to be pulled into the snake's belly, he grabbed Yun Nian's calf, flipped his right wrist, and slashed the snake's tail with the tip of his knife. He did this ruthlessly, and the python's tail immediately loosened, causing Yun Nian to roll to the ground.

Fu Wenzhou had no time to pay attention to Yun Nian anymore. He thrust his short knife at the anaconda again, this time aiming straight for its eyes that emitted a dark, eerie green light.

"I have a gun in my bag!" Fu Wenzhou shouted to Yun Nian, enduring the pain of his wounds being torn open.

Yun Nian staggered toward the backpack, her palms sweating. It took her two tries to unfasten the travel buckle on the backpack and take out the gun.

"How do I use it? I... I don't know how!" Yun Nian held the gun at a loss. He had been living in seclusion for many years and had never come into contact with such an advanced thing as a gun. But Fu Wenzhou was already losing, so he dared not delay any longer. He tried to aim and pressed down with his trembling thumb.

There was complete silence, with only the sound of the wind.

Fu Wenzhou was completely wrapped up by the snake's tail, and the python tightened its grip, making it almost impossible for him to breathe. Seeing Yun Nian's actions, sparks practically flew from his eyes: "You idiot! Are you some kind of bodhisattva who fires a gun without cocking it!"

Yun Nian quickly pulled back the bolt and fired a shot at the python's tail.

The bullets made of wood were naturally less powerful than real ammunition. The anaconda only loosened its grip for a moment before tightening its hold on Fu Wenzhou again. Taking advantage of the loosening, Fu Wenzhou pulled out an arm and stabbed the snake's belly with his short knife.

Yun Nian fired another shot, and this time the anaconda's tail loosened completely. Fu Wenzhou quickly climbed onto the snake's body, straddled it, and plunged the knife into the anaconda's vital spot with one hand. He gripped the hilt with both hands and pushed the knife in several centimeters. The anaconda's writhing body gradually stopped moving.

Fu Wenzhou pulled out his knife and stabbed Senran again. This time, Senran fell to the ground and finally stopped moving.

He wiped the sweat from his forehead with a cold expression and collapsed to the side, utterly exhausted.

Seeing this, Yun Nian hurriedly ran towards him, helped Fu Wenzhou up from the ground, and fed him a pill.

Fu Wenzhou's body was covered in a mixture of sweat and blood, and he was in so much pain that he was numb. He was covered in mud and grass, and looked utterly disheveled.

Yun Nian tried to examine him, but the man had already fainted and lay unconscious on the ground.

"Fu Wenzhou?"

"Fu Wenzhou!"

"Wake up!"

The man on the ground moved slowly, his eyelids lifted, and his tone was anything but pleasant: "I'm not dead yet, are you trying to call back my soul?"

Yun Nian felt relieved, and the two lay on the ground until dawn before setting off again.

Despite his serious injuries, Fu Wenzhou walked quite slowly. If it weren't for his pale face and the beads of sweat that appeared on his forehead with every step, Yun Nian would have thought he was alright.

This man has an incredibly strong will.

So powerful it's terrifying.

Yun Nian silently stepped forward to help him. Feeling that his body stiffened slightly, Yun Nian explained, "This way we can walk faster."

Fu Wenzhou frowned and stopped avoiding the path, walking forward step by step. Each step required a great deal of effort, but he did not slow down at all.

Youyou must be getting impatient.

He needs to be faster, much faster...

A booming sound came from above, and for a moment, Fu Wenzhou thought it was his imagination.

Yun Nian looked up in surprise: "Fu Wenzhou, there's a helicopter!"

The helicopter's detectors detected a life trail, and Fu Bei immediately looked down, but the dense jungle made it impossible to see the people below. He could only call Xu Zezhan to report the direction.

After receiving the call, Xu Zezhan immediately headed towards Fu Beifa's location.

The distance between the two sides was actually quite short, but the path in the jungle was difficult to traverse, and it still took Xu Zezhan nearly two hours to find Fu Wenzhou.

Seeing two figures in the distance, Xu Zezhan almost thought he was seeing things. But when he got closer and saw that it was Fu Wenzhou, he froze on the spot.

His nose stung, and Xu Zezhan's voice trembled: "How the hell did you get yourself into this state!"

Fu Wenzhou smiled nonchalantly and picked at his ear: "I've found Yun Fang's apprentice. Youyou is saved."

His tone was one of smugness, as if he were showing off to his friend.

Xu Zezhan swallowed his curses upon seeing Fu Wenzhou's injuries. With a grim face, he took the man from Yun Nian's arms, had a stretcher brought over, and settled Fu Wenzhou in place. Afterward, a large group of people set off again.
