Ji Lu tilted his head and thought for a moment, then asked with a bit of tactless stubbornness: "I'm not talking nonsense, why not?"

"No reason." Mu Han's voice was filled with fatigue, and even the strength to raise his eyes seemed to have been drained away.

Seeing Mu Han like this, Ji Lu immediately took the medicine from him, tilted his head back and swallowed it in one gulp, saying in a baby voice, "Handsome brother, I'm done. Are you very tired? If there's nothing else, I'll go to sleep, you should go and rest too."

Ji Lu slowly lay back on the bed. Mu Han stood up, nodded to Ji Xingyuan, glanced at Lu Zhizhi beside him, and then strode out.

As soon as he walked out of the ward, he ran into Li Jinghui. He was holding a few medical records in his hand. He looked up and saw Mu Han, his eyes fell on his thin clothes, and his tone was gentle but also a little reproachful: "Hanhan, I was just looking for you. Uncle is sick, why didn't you tell me?"

"I'm afraid of bothering you." Mu Han's voice was light and his fatigue was almost overflowing.

He inadvertently glanced at the list in Li Jinghui's hand, on which his father's name was clearly printed.

Li Jinghui noticed his gaze and smiled gently: "If you want to see the details, go to my office. There is complete information there."

Mu Han nodded and followed him at a leisurely pace. Lu Zhizhi had followed him out without anyone noticing, his footsteps so light that he trailed behind like a shadow, unnoticed.

Soon they arrived at the office and pushed the door open. However, Lu Zhizhi stopped at the door. The door was not completely closed, leaving a tiny gap. He stood quietly in the shadow, his eyes as cold as ice.

Li Jinghui handed Mu Han a stack of detailed medical records. Mu Han took them and carefully looked through them, but Li Jinghui's eyes were glued to his face, the deep affection in his eyes almost overflowing. When Mu Han finished reading and looked up, they were so close that they could hear each other's breath. If they moved an inch closer, they could press their lips together. The air was filled with a suffocating ambiguity.

From Lu Zhizhi's perspective, looking through the gap, it seemed that Li Jinghui was kissing Mu Han's forehead.

Mu Han's heart tightened, and just as he was about to step back, he heard a loud "bang" - Lu Zhizhi had rushed in at some point, with murderous intent in his eyes. He stared at Li Jinghui, walked a few steps to Mu Han's side and stood still, without even glancing at Mu Han.

Li Jinghui was about to say something when Lu Zhizhi's fist came swinging at him. Li Jinghui was caught off guard and stumbled back half a step. When he reacted, he also punched back.

Mu Han rushed forward to intervene, but before he could even take a step, Li Jinghui's fist had already rushed towards him. Lu Zhizhi was quick to act and grabbed Mu Han tightly in his arms.

With a dull thud, Li Jinghui's fist slammed heavily onto Lu Zhizhi's back. He wanted to stop the blow, but inertia prevented him from doing so, and he froze in a daze.

Lu Zhizhi felt his vision go dark, his legs soften, and he fell all over Mu Han. Li Jinghui hurried forward and together with Mu Han helped him to the chair next to him.

"Hanhan, I didn't mean it..." Li Jinghui's voice was full of surprise and panic.

Mu Han said nothing, and together with Li Jinghui, he placed Lu Zhizhi in the ward.

When Lu Zhizhi awoke, the ward was silent. Only Mu Han lay asleep beside the bed, her hair cascading down her cheek. He stared at Mu Han's sleeping face, recalling the scene just now, and a deep sense of loss welled up in his heart. She'd said she didn't want a relationship, had been gentle and polite to everyone, yet she was so resistant and repulsive to him. Soft tactics weren't working; it seemed he had to force them... His eyes gradually darkened, tinged with paranoia.

At this time, Mu Han slowly woke up, and Lu Zhizhi immediately turned his head away. Mu Han rubbed his sleepy eyes and said politely, "Thank you. If there is nothing else, I will leave first."

Lu Zhizhi didn't respond or look at him until he heard the sound of the door closing. Then he suddenly turned his head to look at the door, but Mu Han was no longer there.

As the days passed, Mu Han's father's condition did not improve, and the company's situation continued to deteriorate. He and Han Yi were busy running around from morning till night, and were almost overwhelmed.

Since that day, Lu Zhizhi seemed to have disappeared from the face of the earth and never appeared again.

Mu Han had nowhere else to go but to find Jiang Yongyi, but he waited in the company for a whole morning and didn't even see him - the other party obviously didn't want to see him.

He left in a daze, feeling that everything was dark before his eyes. The company was about to collapse, and his father's illness was getting worse. He was almost pushed to the brink of collapse.

That night, Mu Han tossed and turned in bed, the night outside his window seemingly endless. Unable to sleep, he reached for his phone, opening and closing Lu Zhizhi's WeChat chat box several times before finally typing: "Mr. Lu, are you free tomorrow?"

An hour later, the phone screen lit up and a message from Lu Zhizhi popped up: [Yes, 8 a.m., I'll be waiting for you in the office.]

Mu Han didn't reply, and he was no longer sleepy. He walked to the studio, looking for something to calm himself down. After some time, he fell asleep beside the easel.

It was not until after seven in the morning that he suddenly woke up, looked at the time, packed up his things and hurried out.

As soon as he arrived downstairs at Lu Zhizhi's company, he saw his assistant already waiting at the door. When he saw Mu Han, he politely greeted him: "Mr. Mu, you are here."
