Chapter 22 Song Zhaodi

Li Haizhen started talking again, completely oblivious to the slightly veiled look in Song Zhaodi's eyes when she looked at Zhang Xuesong, and just kept talking to her.

"I'm eighteen this year, how about you? You look pretty young, I didn't expect you to already have a boyfriend!"

"Hehe, we're the same age. Xuesong and I are childhood sweethearts, we grew up together since we were little."

I volunteered to come with him on this trip to the countryside. What about you? Why are you here too?

Didn't your family try to find you a job? Did you also only graduate from high school?

Looking at his wife's carefree attitude, Zhang Xuesong rubbed his head with a headache.

These are questions that involve personal privacy, how could they be asked so casually? So, without waiting for Song Zhaodi's answer, he spoke up:

"Zhenzhen, are you hungry? You were in a rush to catch the train this morning and didn't eat much. Do you want to eat something now?"

Li Haizhen hadn't felt anything before Zhang Xuesong mentioned it, but now that he brought it up, she realized she was actually a little hungry.

"Brother Xuesong, Zhenzhen is hungry. I want to eat the steamed buns that Aunt Meng made for me!"

Hearing this, Zhang Xuesong smiled indulgently and said:

"Okay, I'll get it for you right away. Go wash your hands first, and you can eat when you come back!"

"Um!"

After seeing Li Haizhen off, Zhang Xuesong looked at Song Zhaodi and said:

"Zhenzhen is spoiled at home and speaks and acts rather casually. Please forgive her, Comrade Song!"

She didn't mean to pry into your privacy; she just asked casually.

Song Zhaodi was surprised by Zhang Xuesong's words and shook her head awkwardly.

Although I felt a little offended when I was asked that question, there's nothing to hold a grudge about.

After all, she had long been used to being the one abandoned by her parents.

From childhood to adulthood, I've become accustomed to being ignored and to the cold words and sarcastic remarks of others.

"I know Comrade Li is an outgoing person, it was just a casual question, Comrade Zhang, you don't need to do that."

"I'm glad Comrade Song doesn't mind. I was just worried that you might feel that Zhenzhen offended you!"

"No, no, it was just casual conversation. Comrade Zhang, there's no need to be so nervous."

"I was overthinking it, and I hope Comrade Song will forgive me."

"It's alright, it's alright!"
