Chapter 25 A Man

Lying on the small bed in the sleeper berth, although it wasn't soft, it was much better than the hard seat.

Before long, the train slowly pulled into the platform, and Jiang Xile specifically asked the train conductor about the time.

Upon learning that the stop would last for thirty-five minutes, I immediately decided to go for a walk and stretch my legs.

There were quite a few people on the platform, some getting on and some getting off. Following the rule of letting people get off first and then getting on, Jiang Xile quickly found herself on the platform.

The scenery on the platform was both strange and familiar. Before the apocalypse, Jiang Xile grew up in Beijing.

Although this Beijing is not in the same world as the Beijing she used to live in.

However, even parallel universes have many similarities, not to mention that the world evolved from this novel is based on history.

Apart from the platform lights, the rest of the place was pitch black. Jiang Xile stood under the sign, staring blankly at the words "Beijing Station".

"Hey, Joy, so you've been here!"

Li Haizhen, who was taken out of the car by Zhang Xuesong for a stroll, immediately saw Jiang Xile standing under the signpost in a daze and ran over.

Jiang Xile was lost in thought when Li Haizhen startled her and almost struck back, but she managed to restrain herself in time.

"Oh, it's you two! You startled me! Did you come down for some exercise too?"

"Yeah, we've been sitting in the car all day. If we don't get out and move around, I'll go crazy from sitting so long!"

"Hehe, no way. But even if you become stupid, it's okay. You still have Zhang Xuesong to take care of you. You don't have to be afraid of anything!"

"Hey, what did you say? I'm ignoring you!"

Li Haizhen felt a little embarrassed after being teased by Jiang Xile, but her eyes were still sweet as she looked at Zhang Xuesong.

Zhang Xuesong also affectionately ruffled Li Haizhen's hair, and even without saying a word, one could feel the love between the two.

"I'm telling you two, that's enough! I know you two are in a good relationship, so why are you still chasing after me, a single dog, to show off your love? It's too much!"

"No way! Don't talk nonsense! By the way, why haven't I seen you go back to your seat? Those people who lost their things have all come back."

"The train conductor was afraid that there might be accomplices retaliating, so he arranged for me to go to the sleeper car and I didn't have to go back to sit in the hard seat!"

"Really? That's wonderful! I'm so envious of you. You get to sit in a sleeper berth; it must be so much more comfortable than a seat!"

"It's alright, just a little more spacious, and there are fewer people in the sleeper cars!"

"Oh my, now that you mention it, I'm even more envious. But you deserve it. You're really amazing. I didn't even see how you did it, and you subdued the thief."

"It was just good luck. Okay, let's not talk about that anymore. I'm going back now. Don't stay too long, or you might get left behind by the train!"

"Let's go back now? Okay then, let's take a walk around and go up too!"

"Okay, goodbye!"

"goodbye!"

Back in the sleeper car, Jiang Xile thought no one would get on, but to her surprise, a man was sitting opposite her.

Jiang Xile immediately became alert. Instead of returning to her seat right away, she went to find the train conductor.

Unexpectedly, there were also people at the train conductor's station. These two were wearing military uniforms, making their identities obvious. She happened to see the two of them putting away their identification documents when she came over.

At this moment, the train conductor also saw Jiang Xile. The conductor had a good impression of this woman who was brave enough to fight against the criminals.

"Comrade Jiang, is there something you need? Or is there anything I can help you with?"

"No, no, I was just taking a stroll. I won't disturb your work. I'll head back now!"

"Oh, okay. Two comrades just got on at this stop in our carriage. They're right opposite you. If you find it inconvenient, I can adjust your position for you later."

"Two comrades?"

"Yes, what's wrong?"

"Oh, it's okay, it's okay, no need to go to so much trouble. We'll get off the bus as soon as it's light."

Having a sleeper berth to sleep in is already a great thing; when you're traveling, you can't be so picky!

"Comrade Jiang, you have such a good personality. But it's fate that we're on the same train. Maybe you two can even become friends!"

"That's great. Alright, I won't keep you from working any longer, I'm going back now!"

After smiling and saying goodbye to the train conductor, Jiang Xile walked towards her seat.

While Jiang Xile was talking to the train conductor, the two soldiers had already walked into the carriage, but now only one person remained here.

When Jiang Xile got closer, she realized that the man she had just seen was actually an injured person.

Although the man was sitting upright on the bunk, a thin blanket covered his legs. As it swayed in the breeze, Jiang Xile could clearly see the bandages wrapped around his legs from her angle.

"Battalion Commander, the train is about to leave. Let me help you lie down. Be careful not to touch your wound."

"Zhu Zi, you can get off the bus too. You don't need to take me back. Someone will pick me up when I get off. Don't delay training!"

"The battalion commander and regimental commander instructed me to make sure you get home before I go back. You've already chased Tiedan away, and if you chase me away too, what will you do alone if something unexpected happens? If something really happens, battalion commander, aren't you tearing our hearts out?"

The man's brows were furrowed, a thin layer of sweat had formed on his forehead, and his lips were slightly pale.

"If you want to stay, then stay. But once I get off the train, my family will come to pick me up, so you should go back home as soon as possible!"
