Chapter 1103: Was President Liang fired?

Starting in the afternoon, the three parties made constant phone calls, going back and forth, as if they had reached the most difficult moment of the negotiation. The price was gradually negotiated down, and finally Lu Feng managed to get it down to one hundred and fifty US dollars. On the other end of the phone, Liang seemed to be on the verge of tears, saying that he would report this price, but there was a condition: a letter of intent had to be signed to guarantee that they would not contact other manufacturers, and a confidentiality agreement had to be signed to keep the price confidential.

Both contracts include substantial penalties for breach of contract. These penalties are one-off, targeting only Lu Feng's company and having no binding force on TSMC.

At 8 p.m., Lu Feng and his two companions had a quick dinner at the hotel. Now they were just waiting for them to fall into the trap. Liu Cheng had compiled all the price lists from Texas Instruments, which Zhang Fengxia would fax over from the United States. She would also act as an intermediary for Nokia.

Inside the TSMC chairman's office, Mr. Liang briefly explained the situation. The contracts drafted by the lawyers were already on the table. Mr. Cai looked at the contracts in front of him with a smile and said, "This time it's all settled. As long as these two contracts are signed, they will officially sever ties with other manufacturers, and that will be our time to reap the rewards."

"This is a good start. Competition among manufacturers is fierce right now. If you want long-term development, you still need to cooperate with stable companies," Zhang Zhongmou said, puffing on his cigarette.

"With these hundreds of millions of yuan, we have a buffer period to slowly negotiate with other companies. It would be best if we could reach an agreement," said General Manager Liang, looking forward to the future.

The atmosphere at the scene was quite good, after all, the first big order was about to be secured. As for the methods used, that was not important. Every company uses some special methods when it is just starting out. When you succeed, you talk about it. That is the honesty of an entrepreneur and the proof of a shrewd leader.

Lu Feng was like this, and so were the others.

The following morning, Lu Feng and his two companions went to TSMC's main conference room, where a number of ceremonies were arranged, and a local television station conducted an interview.

A red carpet was laid out at the entrance, and various confetti rained down on the ground. A huge backdrop was also set up, which read "Signing Ceremony of Preliminary Strategic Cooperation Agreement between Thailand's Nadi Technologies and TSMC".

A pretty young woman stood in front of the camera, holding a microphone and saying in a slightly boastful tone, "Wow, that's amazing! Everyone can see where I am. This is the signing ceremony for the strategic cooperation between TSMC and a major Thai technology company. As you all know, we are very good at wafer foundry. What is today's cooperation? It's the overall external sale of core mobile phone components."

"I just received news from Mr. Liang in the marketing department that we will be selling a complete set of top-of-the-line 2G products, which will be a qualitative change. Now let's interview Mr. Kuntai, the chairman of Nandi Technology."

"Sawasdee ka!" Lu Feng said, clasping his hands together in front of the camera.

"Sawasdee, Mr. Kuntai, hello. We'd like to know why you chose TSMC, and what high-end technology attracted you?" the host asked with pride.

Lu Feng really wanted to say, "If I had a choice, I would never have come here," but he still smiled and said, "Because it is exceptionally powerful, it has already surpassed the first-class level. Thailand is particularly strong in tourism and fruit, but it is still not good in chips. With TSMC, we can go back and produce mobile phones."

"Your Chinese is really good! I can tell that ability is your top priority. But I'm curious, why is your Chinese so good?"

"Because my mom is Chinese, I have a mom." Lu Feng grinned at the camera, showing off his bright white teeth, and repeated, "I have a mom!"

"Thank you for accepting the interview."

After exchanging a few polite words, Lu Feng strode towards the stage. The host announced the official start of the signing ceremony. Lu Feng stood in the back row, while Zhu Lidong signed on behalf of Lu Feng, and the other party was General Manager Liang.

Zhu Lidong subconsciously wanted to write his name, but felt something was wrong. He turned to look at Lu Feng, who immediately understood his predicament and whispered with his head down, "Just write whatever you want!"

Zhu Lidong coughed, turned around to compose himself, scribbled something hastily, closed the document, and handed it to the other party. General Manager Liang said, "Pleasant cooperation." For some reason, Zhu Lidong blurted out, "Fuck you!"

"Huh?" President Liang was clearly confused by this question.

Lu Feng quickly replied, "It means 'happy cooperation' in Akkadian."

"It sounds a lot like one of our swear words," General Manager Liang chuckled. "Damn it, damn it!"

Lu Feng shook hands with Zhang Zhongmou, who looked at Lu Feng politely and said, "Damn it!"

The scene had become a chaotic mess of mutual greetings, and Lu Feng had to hold back, while Liu Cheng stood behind him, gritting his teeth to keep himself from laughing out loud.

After the signing ceremony, they had lunch together. At the lunch table, Lu Feng said that he would explain things to the other manufacturers as soon as possible, which would take some time, but he would not leave. He would sign a formal contract as soon as possible after the matter was resolved, because he wanted to launch the phone on the market early next year.

The atmosphere at the dinner table was very lively. President Cai was nowhere to be seen. Zhang Zhongmou kept praising Lu Feng for his outstanding talent at such a young age, and talked about the future of the mobile phone market. He said that the market was huge, and if Lu Feng could capture more than 5% of the global market, he could become the richest man in Thailand.

Lu Feng was very happy during the meal. Both President Liang and President Zhang were flattering him, painting a picture of a future mobile phone king. It was clear that these people understood the thoughts of young people in the early stages of entrepreneurship. With a little hype, they could achieve great things.
